: Looks like former Fugees member Pras said out loud what most people were thinking. MediaTakeOut.com has learned that during an interview with AJ’s Playhouse on 93.3 FM in San Diego, the former Fugee claimed that Lauryn Hill is mentally ill.
Here's his exact statement:
Lauryn Hill is like to me the greatest artist in the last 25 or 30 years, but - still - if you mentaly ill, you mentally ill. I’m not no expert, but based on my profesional opinion, she needs medication. I think it’s bipolar. The thing is, when you’re around someone like that that you love and grew up with, you don’t wanna believe that kind of behavior really exists. It seems so unreal.Dang she's mentally ill.... And we just thought she had a strange sense of style....

Well who better to know her than her childhood friend. Acknowledgement is the first step to recovery. That's what's wrong with people of color, we need to stop just praying on everything and seek the professional help we somtimes need. I just hope that whatever it is she's going through she comes out on top because she is a talented sista. I wouldn't necessarily went on the *** raido and tell 2.6 million folks listenin...but that's just me!

So it's not CONFIRMED that she's mentally ill? This is a mere OPINION from a man who is NOT a certified M.D. (shaking my head) That being the case, MTO has no business printing this AS FACT, and people who say, "AMEN" to his rather bogus diagonosis are just as stupid. If someone says, "I THINK Beyonce is a ho" you'd be all over that one trying to prove that she's not. Lauryn Hill is not a booty shaker, but can we at least support her the way we support all the other booty shaker artists?

I suspected the same myself , mentally ill and on some type of drug which is a *** for disaster . I dont know if I'f refer to her as the greatest in 25/30 years,she hasnt been around as long as other artist that I consider true legends,but she is very talented . Its sad that her talent has taken a backseat to her bizarre unpredictable behavior. As a person in the mental health profession it is very clear that she is suffering from a mental illness. Her behavior, her speech and her appearance says it all. Its just not normal behavior so to all those who is denying that there is something wrong, well its your opinion. She even admitted to suffering from depression (hellp ppl which is a mental illness also) but it may have gotten worse and led to something more serious especially if it was untreated. Lauryn is a very talented individual and with the proper treatment she may resume to the "Lauryn" we all know and luv!!
Recently i was listening to her track "Tell Him", which was also featured in the movie "RIZE". Brought tears 2 my eyes because i realized she was talking about GOD! It seems our brightest lights & most gifted people are affected by sumthing--- they're more sensitive than others. Her voice is that of an angel and i wish her all the best!
Why do any of the Fugees have room to talk about each other? Pras I can't remember hearing sh!t from him that was alll that memorable and he was always the third wheel in the Fugees, Lauryn is obviously having another breakdown and has fallen off considerably, and Wyclef lost alot of his originality since he came in the game,only reason he even charts is cause he hops on somebody elses track, PLUS he half the reason Lauryn is how she is. And when was the last time ANY of them charted by THEMSELVES let alone with each other? Don't get me wrong they all talened and I'm a fan, but they can't get past their own *** to even get together and try to make it work. I's said. Everybody that said they was the future of Hip-Hop and would las forever is looking very very ST-OOO-PID!
I am going to attempt to put this as simply as possible. The media and Lauryn's former bandmates attempt at labeling Ms Hill as CRAZY has more to do with their upset over the loss of potential capital than any actions Ms Hill has taken. Has Ms Hill suffered depression? The answer would be yes. How do we know this? She told us. The CRAZY label; however, is more a political attempt at dehumanizing an individual and rendering them powerless.
The perfect example of this is how Ms Winehouse's behavior is characterized. Ms Winehouse and her husband are walking down the middle of the street bloodied and high off drugs , but I challenge you to google her name and find how many times she is referred to as Crazy. I will tell you; very few.
Therefore; using Ms Winehouse as an example and believe me there are many more, you see its not about the behavior displayed by an individual at all. Its more about an attempt to marginalize someone that in this case had the nerve to walk away from the all mighty dollar. How many bottom lines do you think that move effected while Ms Hill was "playing house and finding herself."
Note: As far as her choice of fashion take a look back at some of the stars of the late 70's and 80's. Ms Hill would fit right in.

no, lauryn is not exempt from demons and she may have issues that she may need to work out, but the way she dresses and/or acts on stage has nothing to do with her mental stability. hell, when you think about it, half of the most creative people on earth were considered weird or depressed. i personally, am able to adapt to a person's ARTistry. i like UNIQUE! i can get with CHANGE! there's nothing wrong with THAT. if mental ill is her get-up then dammit, love it or leave-it b/c it's not like home-girl NEEDS to be locked in a padded room with a stray jacket on! so the mental illness *** is all in their heads.

Lauryn Hill is one of the few ARTist who is keeping it real with us and we criticize and bash on her?!?
I'm not saying that it's cool for Lauryn Hill to have suffered with depression, but there is a genuine comfort and relief that someone in her position can openly discuss and get real about her sickness (something that millions go through).
