: Yesterday the NY Daily News ran an article which claimed that Makeda Barnes-Joseph, the woman allegedly shot by rapper Remy Ma, was set for surgery in October. The same article quoted Makeda as saying that until the surgery was performed, she was "confined to the bed."
But it now is starting to look like Makeda is overplaying her injuries.
MediaTakeOut.com exclusively got a hold of some photos of Makeda taken just a few weeks after the shooting incident - and she's definitely not lying in bed. The photo's, which were taken at the famous Rucker Park basketball tournament on August 4th, show Makeda out enjoying the day with a couple of friends.
And our photos look dramatically different from the one shown in yesterday's paper (also shown below).
But these photos are not likely to surprise Remy Ma or her management - who have always claimed that Makeda was after a quick pay day. Shortly after the incident Remy's manager Big Joe (of New Era Management) was quoted as saying, "I don't see [Remy] as the kind of person who would shoot someone ... [this] criminal investigation will soon turn into a lawsuit for millions of dollars."

the pic on the left side looks like it could be related to having some sort of injury; but the pic on the right side looks like an old pic taken years ago. She's wearing some dirty a$$ grey stretch capri's with that ugly a$$ shirt. So I to think she's trying to get some money. From the looks of that outfit she need some.

Not saying she shoulda shot her, BUT, this backs up Remy's story. She's faking for pity in the news and living it up in the hood when she probably did steal the money that night. What I meant to say was IF Remy shot her she was wrong. I try to hold out judgement until the judge make his judgement. And just strictly for the record, Makeda's boyfriend alledgedly had a gun aimed at Remy too so a number of things cold have went down:
1.)Most likely he aimed at Rem, and accidently shot his girl, now they gon split the cash. 2.)Rem is Guilty. 3.) Or maybe Remy didn't shoot her.I could be wrong, but WHERE'S THE GUN Barnes's was shot with; and more importantly--Where are Remy's fingerprints? 4.Maybe during the trial Remy's gon pull a Mike Vick and admit guilt, maybe not.

@ kimkelmor: If she does in fact have her own money and means of living, why were there other articles surfacing where acquaintances of both parties admitting to the fact that Remy has both paid for bills and other necessities of Mrs. Barnes-Joseph and forgave her when she'd stolen from her the first time? (Long before the shooting incident).
I'm sure Remy didn't wake up one morning and say "today's the day when my bestfriend of TWO DECADES is going to steal some money from me." And I'm also sure that she didn't expect it to happen a second time.
It's seeming like a scheme to me. In the end, when everything unfolds and the truth is revealed, those guilty will get exactly what they deserve.
@ chrissy: This women should stay in bed because as she and her family are telling the papers, the doctors ORDERED her to be confined to her bed until her scheduled surgery. Her being out and about, chillin' at some park, when she's supposed to making progress week by week, hurts her character and has a lot of eyebrows raising. I've never seen anyone try and play her "injuries" as she had. Three weeks ago she was all smiles and hallmark cards, chillin' at the park, now she's depressed looking and walking with a cane/ crutch? Why wasn't this support system taken with her to the park that day? And why does she look like a totally different person? Something seems suspicious about this whole thing. But as I said before, everything that needs to be, WILL be brought to light.
@killa_bee, Muhammad Ali is one of my favorite people on the planet man those were some good links you put up and the interviews was classic Ali puttin a crooked white mufugga in their place. Ali came on my block just him and a driver not a bodygaurd but a driver. My block was in one of the most ghettoish dangerous hoods in Chicago and this was back in like 1981 or 82 and he got out the car and kicked it with everybody as if he was a regular person. There were 100's of people outside and nobody even thought about fuggin with him and at that time Ali was like a God to me so I gotta say that I love Ali because he was a person I really looked up to coming up and for him to just come on my block for no reason and sign autographs and hang out is something I'll never forget. 1. You can't fake being shot.
2. If she had faked being shot, Remy would never have been arrested. You can't just call the cops and say "I got shot by Remy Ma" and they arrest her without making sure you're shot.
3. Odds are the newspaper reporter/photographer asked her to pose with the cane and "look sad."
4. Some people will always smile if a camera is around, no matter what. That's just their personality. Doesn't matter if they're recovering from a bullet wound or not.
5. It's very possible those photos aren't from 8/4/07. There's this thing called photo-editing that a lot of people know how to do.
