The whole situation is sad and like she says occurs everyday every minute of the day somewhere in this world. It could be your neighbor, your son's teacher, the rude fast food attendant, or you in a violent domestic situation. With wisdom and courage Juanita will make it through and hopefully bring some others 'through' their situations as well.
It's funny though that she didn't mention what 'it' was until the phrase 'domestic violence' was used by a reporter with a question. She's still in the beginning of a long journey. Soon she'll be able to say the words and it not hurt so bad.

If people would listen to what she is saying and stop hearing what they want to hear- juanita DID NOT say she was going back to him. She says she FORGIVES him, but she ISN'T focusing on the marriage. That woman got more sense than that...Give her a little more credit!
And for y'all that are looking for the physical evidence, remember, this incident took place about 2 weeks ago, and she was fully clothed from the shoulders down...we don't know what bruises she may be hiding. I'm more than confident that the police took many many pictures, and she probably also went to the ER or the doctor to get a report on the injuries that she did sustain in order for them to indict him and for the prosecutor to build a solid case against him in court. Don't get it twisted, just because we don't see the injuries, doesn't mean she don't have 'em. A lot of women use clothing, makeup and other things to camoflague them so you would never even know...
Ms. Bynum when pressed with questions about the reason for the assault (church issues, financial issues) say it is a minor and petty manner. She also says that her celebrity is not the reason the media is paying attention to her.
My response to Ms. Bynum is:
1. Honey whether you like it or not, people will pay attention to you because you are a celebrity. And especially because you are a celebrity which preaches the "Christian way" of how people should live.
2. Church issues concerning finance, infidelity with church members, homophobia are not petty issues- in fact these issues are the reasons people are leaving the church in major numbers.
The preacher taking church money all for themselves, the preacher preaching homophobia but his himself a homosexual, the preacher spouts marriage but is cheating with half of the women in the church. All of these reasons are why people leave the church.
And to TheTrueOne, I never known being a Christian means you should lose all your brain cells as well. I am a Christian, but the problem with some of us is that we see the preachers as God themselves, instead of men like us. God may be perfect, but human beings are f***** up at times.

I'm sure most of us posting on this board have encountered domestic violence at some point in our lives. As a child, I witnessed my mother being beaten, and eventually almost having her throat cut by my drunk stepfather. There were so many times when we had to run out of the house in the middle of the night! He later ended killing a man. When he went to prison, that was the happiest time of my 6 year old life because it meant I could actually go to bed and not be scared I might not live to see the sun come up. Of course he found God when that ass was locked up. We would go visit him every other Sunday. He begged our forgiveness and promised he was a changed man. After 7 years he finally got out on parole, and like a dummy, my mother took him back. It only took 2 months for his old self to return. The only difference was that my sister and I were teenagers and much more capable of helping our mother fight back. We were visiting friends and he jumped on my mother in the front yard. My sister and I waxed that ass good with a tire iron! He finally moved without so much as a goodbye. Years later, after my mother passed away, he looked me up in the phone book. He heard of her passing and wanted to apologize for making our lives so miserable. Of course I forgave him, but only because I knew I didn't have to see or talk to him anymore. To this day, there times when I still think about all that happened. Whether Juanita Bynum writes a book, preaches a sermon, or whatever she does, as long as light is shone on this situation, that's all that matters. I know Christians aren't perfect. I know a lot of them are crooks and will rob you blind, all the while smiling and shouting "Amen!". But at the end of the day, how many women are out there getting their ass kicked and won't say a word?
I saw her new conference on all the TV stations in Atlanta. I was expecting to see some footprints or black eye because it was more than a cat fight. If you a battered girl you let everybody see the damage. When you schedule a news conference and get in Vogue for the camera and start talkig like a dumb a$$ Republican I don't feel sorry for you. To me it seems like she was saying yeah I got my butt whipped but I am still gonna make those dollars.
I don't think there is anything wrong with forgiving someone. It doesn't mean that they will have the chance of being with you again. I will give her some credit for being mature about this situation. I can almost guarantee that there are some things that went on with them that we have no business knowing and we have to respect that.

I absolutely love her and I know that this situation was something to prepare her for the even greater things God has in store for her. There is never a testimony without a test and just like she said domestic violence is something that is so common but often times pushed under the rug. So it took for it to happen to her, somebody who is such a strong representative for Jesus Christ to become an advocate and boldly address the crisis. Once again, I find this new statement of Ms Bynum to be, once again, very exploitative, contradictory, and opportunistic. To say that she wants others to "hear her heart" by appearing in person is a farce. Namely because SHE HAS LAWYERS AND A PR MACHINE TO ADVISE HER AHEAD OF TIME! I don't think her line of ministry should be called a show. Like I said, if my "pastor" called what he does on Sundays, which is preach a show, I would have a problem with that. I also said if she was referring to preaching.

i dont understand y everyone is saying she is all about MONEY? if anyone know juanita bynum ministries u rarely IF EVER hear her talk abt give me money and u will get a house or car or that money cometh money cometh like alot of other Prosperity preachers do. however i do commend her on being not only a great preacher but also a good and smart business woman who has and knows how to properly inverst her money and purchase good stock unlike alot op ppl and that y the saints in the church are broke! i find it disturbing that its no problem for non christian speakers and artist to market cd's books and invest money but we want to condemn christian artist and send then to hell for doing so and then say they are all about the money. lets be real after all the messages are preached these people still have to live and pay bills!!!! y is it that we dont want the saints to have or make money????? This woman is clear minded, well spoken, and in touch with her self. She continues to do the work of the Lord and as she stated "This to shall pass" God already got the Glory.
The Church needs to go into prayer, and seek the Lord for wisdom and guidance in this matter. You can quickly blame pastor Weeks if you want to, but you have no idea what type of domination this man lived under. Both Weeks and Bynum need to seek the Lord, and forgive each other. Taking the soapbox regarding abused women is noble, or is it a safe place to hid, for attitudes that we possess that we have not given over to the Lord. God will reveal all truth, and until we are honest about our role in being abusive, whether that abuse is coming from a man or a woman, the truth needs to be revealed.
Also, the greatest deliverance, and ministry would be for women who share the quilt and blame to repent for their role in exciting a situation, and then crying victim, when the guilt lies at both doors. Is Bynum stepping down, no; than you have my answer about Weeks stepping down.
I have a bossy, demanding and prideful spirit; and I know what a woman is capable of. We all need to repent, and tell the full truth.

I believe we are taking this to far with the comments. We must know our God is a healer of all things and he knows better than we. So many bashing christians because of this but none of us are perfect. Although I do not agree with what Bishop Weeks has done, I still reconize flesh still is active in our everyday lives. That's why the word of God says we must die dailey. She is right to forgive but she cannot just move on unless God gives her the authority to do so, remember when we become his it stop being about us.If God put them togather then he must work all that out. I also believe no matter what we do we must repersent Christ in the fulliest, we must put on Christ. The world is waiting to point fingers and say we are not who we say we are, let's not make it easy for them. I pray for peace and stength in this sistuation and I know God will get the glory out of it all. One last comment, we as children of God must know his voice when we hear it and not make any decisions because of how it can benefit us but ask the question: Is this what God want for me?
