Heres a personal story..
Many years ago one of my first girlfriends had two small children, they were about 3 and 5 when I met her...The sister was so beautiful with her natural afro she was literally a work of art to behold...But she was LOUD...I mean really really LOUD, especially when it came to the children...
I could be talking to her on the phone and suddenly she'll blurt out at the top of her lungs "***, get the hell out of the flour" and then start talking to me in a soft voice...
I told her many times that she was going to give those children a complex yelling at them like that and she said thats the only way those little *** will listen...Come to find out that she still had issues with their respective "fathers" and even though she loved them, when she saw them she saw the failure of her past relationships and that caused her to yell at them in revenge..
Needless to say I stuck it out for about 6 months and she just wasnt ready to let that anger go and I couldnt deal with the constant yelling even though she had an azz you could sit your drink on...So I dont care how good you look or how good you think you look, a soft, pleasing voice lasts longer than a big ***.

There is room to consider BOTH the issues that you raised!
I do think that some black men have yet to some to grips with the demands and responsibilties of family. While some of us choose to forget about the effects of slavery, there are some men that are still psychologically wired to breed/ "stick and move" without adequate emotional attachment.
Black women, I think, do have a choice to not treat their bodies as baby making machines and SOME DO, while a few are still trapped in a state of not being control and making informed decisions in their lives esp. where men are concerned.
They too perpetuate the behaviour of slavery where they did not often have a choice but to breed for whatever man was chosen FOR them (even if they were already in a relationship with someone else).
Im just worn out with arguing with African American women...
I have enough of a fight going out in the work world trying to make a way in the midst of white racism and racial cruelness...

@jukebox, i do agree with you to an extent. i get dirty looks all the time when im with my husband , who is black, and mostly by black girls to be honest but we are very successful couple and times it does bother me but im not going to let them bring me down or just hang with a certain group. thats why to hear this negativity just bothers me
