: MediaTakeOut.com told you a few days ago that rapper Ludacris and Beyonce would be performing in Ethiopia over weekend. Well, according to the BBC, Ethiopians weren't at all impressed with Ludacris' performance. Here's what they reported:
Reaction to Beyonce's opening act, multi-platinum-selling rapper Ludacris, was lukewarm from a crowd that tends to be loyal to music in its national language, Amharic."Rap music doesn't suit Ethiopia," said local music promoter Michael Melake. "Ethiopians need a melody. [Rap music] is all about the black American experience, and we don't relate to that." he said.
Before you go crazy about what the BBC said, MediaTakeOut.com received a couple of emails from Ethiopian readers who claimed to have enjoyed Ludacris' performance - so take the above with a grain of salt.
In other news, check out pics of Ludacris getting up close and personal with an Ethiopian chick. You see Gabby - you're not the only one with a lil bit on the side....

She was a friend of mine ....
Anyway Ludacris is doin' his thang if he's performing in Ethiopia - that's HOTT!
Even MTO of all sites said the BBC report is ***!T. "Ethiopians need a melody. [Rap music] is all about the black American experience, and we don't relate to that." ....
Yeah isn't funny how YT's around the world[BBC] will always try to divide Black ppl.Continental Africans quite as kept, were enslaved, had their lands stolen and colonized(w/the exception of Ethiopia).Hint the BERLIN CONFERENCE and South African apartheid.Continental Africans SHOULD know all to well the devilishness of the [EXPLETIVE].
lol Are black Americans feeling Ludacris anymore????
So what if Ethiopians are or are not feeling rap music made by Ludacris. Isn't he the one who says he got hoes in different area codes.Pimping all over the World... Does pop rap music represent the black experience in America??? I don't know that many blacks rolling around in Bentleys. He only got pro black after Bill O'Reily got his Pepsi Ad took away. LMAO Some of yall are really slow.
The original source of the news is not BBC but AP. AP's Anita Powell quoted a Reggae Music promoter in Ethiopia who was denied a venue in Addis Ababa very recently for security reasons.
By the way, the number of people who attended the concert in Ethiopia was over 10,000. AP's number was significantly lower.
The moral of the story is DON'T BELIEVE EVERY THING YOU READ IN THE MEDIA.
mubadub & DaPlaya,
She may or may not be habesha. Instead why don't y'all adress the negative comments? some of these people are misinformed or just plain clueless about Ethiopia and African in general. 1. Ethiopia was not spared colonization because it was a chritstian kingdom. We actually defeated all invaders; turks, arabs, italians, etc.. 2. We do related to all black people everywhere. 3. The drought pictures you see on infomercials are about 23 yrs. old. It was much exaggerated and manupilated for the benefit of greedy dicators, rebels, and foreign aid agencies.
Are yall crazy she ain no *** ethopian. Ethopians comonly have a big ol for head. And that women looks nothing like ethopian.
She's loud, she knows ya business, she tells ya business, she cusses yo azz out and it's all about love.. she's Miss Pearl...

African American News & Entertainment!
African Americans have thick lips, wide nose, and negroid feature. Ethiopian women have thin lips, straight nose and semetic feature. Other than that Ethiopians consider themselves black Africans. And they are proud of it. It won't surprise me if the African American activists of the 1960s who coined the phrase "Black is Beautiful" did so after visiting Ethiopia. The country has one of the most beautiful people in the world.
I wonder what is really behind the view that Ethiopians are among the most beautiful in the world?? Is this because the majority of them do not have traditionally African features?
I went to Ethiopia when I was in college. To me, the women looked mixed, as Shaman described above: with long, silky hair and thin noses and lips. I was like, what the heck, did they drop me off in India???
I love us in all our different shapes, colors and hues and hair textures...but sometimes I wonder when some of us get put on a pedestal of beauty....it always seems to be those who do not look "African" but look like Indians or dark Europeans.
Why is that?
Will we ever truly see dark, glossy *** black skin, wide strong African nose, tight curly or wooly hair(no, not "nappy or coarse" or other negative words) as being beautiful??? Or do we always have to be mixed with European features to be considered beautiful?
@Jlove-1
Actually, Ethiopians are not the only ones with Semetic features, if go to Northern Sudan, Mali, Senegal, ***, Mauritania, Chad, Somalia, Kenya, ***, Tanzania you'll notice the same thing. As far as beauty goes, you can create your own standards. Unfortunately the European standard has become 'the standard'. As an Ethiopian, when others tell me that we are the prettiest women, I tend to ask "in whose standards?" and they'd be like "what do you mean?". None of us really know what we're conforming in to.
