: The investigation into the death of rapper Kanye West's mother has just taken another twist. Yesterday, MediaTakeOut.com pointed out that the surgeon who operated on Donda West, the famed Dr. Jan Adams, settled a series of malpractice lawsuits in recent years. But it's now starting to look like it wasn't Dr Jan's malpractice that lead to Donda West's death after all.
In another MediaTakeOut.com exclusive, we spoke with a person who looked at the preliminary autopsy report for Donda West. And according to that person, Dr. Adams doesn't appear to have done anything to directly cause the death of Kanye's mother.
This result of the autopsy, tells a person close to the investigation, all but rules out any obvious surgical error by Dr. Jan Adams. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "If she would have died from a severe infection, or hemorrhaging (blood loss) that would be a tell tale sign of poor surgical procedure, but none of that was present."
The insider continued, "We can't be certain as to what caused [Donda West's] death until the toxicology screens come back from the lab. But the death does not look like it was directly caused by anything done by the surgeon ... It's hard to speculate as to what could have caused the death but, in cases like this, the anesthesia is usually the culprit."
The preliminary autopsy report will not likely be released to the public. The full autopsy report, which will be completed after the toxicology screenings are completed, is expected to be released in 4 to 6 weeks.

But she went to another doctor first and he said he wouldn't do it til she was cleared of a medical condition that she had they may give her a heart attack. So yes it's the doctors fault that preformed the procedures, to a certain extent because it seems that he was not concerned with whether or not she had any medical conditions, but just her money. But if someone said no because of medical conditions why risk your life and go to someone else? RIP....
She was in surgery for 8 hours, never sent into a recovery room she was sent home to recooperate-you do the *** math, why would you send a patient home after having multiple procedures done? That's crazy, he lost 2 lawsuits and still has 4 pending, and now we see why it's unfortunate that her death had to bring all of this to light-the person that filed to have his license suspended did the right thing it just looks like it was never done!!! If you have a problem with MTO reporting on Dr. West why not stop clicking on the story??! This is news and not gossip actually. I think people need to know the dangerous of cosmetic surgery. I feel badly for Kanye. He has lost his best friend in the world. MTO is right as well. MOST of what is being reported has been posted on their site way before mainstream media. They have a very good source regarding this story. I commend them for toning down the story headings and doing some actual Journalism. The ONE time MTO actually reports the truth and does their job, everyone wants to run away to the happy articles and bury their head in the sand!! I'm GLAD that MTO is giving this story exposure! MAYBE these articles are saving someone's life by DISCOURAGING them NOT to get plastic surgery. Regardless, I feel that, by these articles, we are educating ourselves to the dangers out there. I believe that she *** have been sent home after having these procedures done. Although, she probably would've died anyway had she stayed in the hospital. It's obvious her body didn't take well to what she was doing to it whether it was a result of the anesthesia or her thyroids or her heart. It's unfortunate that we feel we need to change the way God intended for us to look. But as someone stated earlier in the post, God wanted to bring another one of his children home. People have to remember that we are not immortal and our time here on this earth is just a loan to the people we are around. God Bless!
This website is so tacky. That childish little tidbit at the end of the story was so unnecessary. Placing the time in which the story was posted? So young. If you know that you reported it first, then so what? Your "good journalism" should speak for itself. My heart goes out to this family because this indeed tragic, however; it's a known fact that another Dr. advised Ms. West to get clearance about her heart condition before he did any type of surgery on her. Let';s be honest do you really think that Dr. Jan knew anything about what the other physician told Ms. West to do??? I think not!! Just because he has malpractice cases against him doesnt mean he did anything wrong. He did not force her on his operating table to have these procedures done. Yes, I feel awful that this happened but everything happens for a reason and maybe "our people" will think next time before they go to get these cosmetic surgeries done, just because of this! Do y'all ever watch the plastic surgery shows on TV? It is standard practice to go home after surgery. Its funny that all this speculation about this DR. and none of y'all had enough info, to make a decision either way. What I want to know is, why a 58 year old woman would care about what her tummy looked like. My Momma is 58, and that is the last thing she would ever do. When ever you go for any type of surgery, there is always a risk, however small, that you will die. Even perfectly healthy people die during or immediately after. One more tidbit, if it were any of your Momma's, no one would give a ***, they'd just say, well its tragic, but when you CHOSE to go under the knife, for cosmetic reasons you take that risk. Its only b/c she had a rapper son is why ppl want to crucify this DR.
Oh and something else, malpractice cases are a dime a dozen in the medical field, many if not most are frivolous. There are cases that r indeed warranted, and severe negligence on the Dr. part. Tacky MTO, just plain tacky!
People need to understand that surgery is a big deal and as far as anesthesia goes, you never know you're reaction to it until the surgery is over. Usually after you have a procedure, you are in the recovery room so that they can monitor you(temperature, blood pressure, etc.)This is the reason that I think that it is irresposible for some people to always suggest plastic surgery as a way to deal with body image issues.
I just want to sent my prayers and condolences out to the West Family. I can't imagine losing someone so close. I pray that only true messages of Love & condolences are reaching him, and not some of the negative comments that I have seen, not so much on this site, but on other sites.
It's horrible how some can be so insensitive and uncaring. Whether or not you are a fan of Kanyes or not, he is a person with real feelings and emotions first, an artist second.
My heart goes out to Kanye and his family but at the same time I cant help but ask and wonder why Donda would cater to Hollywood and have the procedure done knowing the risk. Im not trying to be cold but come on and she didnt even look bad. I mean I didnt have to see her naked but after 58 years of seeing yourself why not just deal with it. No major media outlets and print give credit to MTO anymore because so many of their stories have been false. The black newspaper where I live use to quote this site every week but not any more. They either use other sources or just say "media reports". Get it right the first time MTO and you'll get your credibility.
This morning a black lady was on CBS and is suing the surgeon who operated on Ms.West. This woman had diabetes and then post-surgical complications. She said the surgeon never gave her any patient education beforehand. That's incompetence. This guy will be out of business soon, even if he had nothing to do with Ms. West's death.
As for those who don't want posters to read this or respond to it, this is a newsworthy story because it is a celebrity's mother and a well liked woman. People want to read that justice is served and that this doesn't happen to any one else. It went the same way when James Brown's wife died after liposuction and the comedienne who died after a facelift.

but obviously he still arises blame because as a doctor health should have came first. has he not did a through checkup before he performed the procedure or was he just seeing green!!

Initial indications were that West died from surgical complications, but an official cause of death won't be made for at least another 1 1/2 months pending further tests, Chief Coroner Investigator Craig Harvey said Tuesday after an autopsy was conducted.

Usually the surgeon and the anesthesiologist are two different people responsible for two different things during a procedure. Yes the doctor should make sure the patient is stable throughout the surgery but anethesia is another medical study in itself that he often doesn't oversee because it's not his reponsibility.
Maybe tge surgical procedure was done properly, but I still say Dr. Adams was probably responsible. If Dr. West had been required by the first doctor to get medical clearance before agreeing to do the surgery, why in the hell didn't Dr. Adams demand the same? I think he saw dollar signs and another high-profile patient... I had a major operation 3 years ago, and had to endure all kinds of testing - AND was required to quick smoking - before my doctor would even put it on her schedule. If Dr. Adams didn't do his due diligence, he's the culprit!
