: We all knew that R&B singer Kelly Rowland was having trouble selling tickets to her new concert, but this is ridiculous. According to one of MediaTakeOut.com's faithful readers, Kelly has resorted to heavily discounting her concert tickets. And on Friday at the Atlantic City, NJ House Of Blues, you can actually see Kelly and Mario perform for only 75 cents. You heard us right - three quarters!!!
Here's what she had to say:
The tickets were initially selling for $40 and, officially, they still are going for $40. But if you go to the House Of Blues, you can pick up tickets for only 75 cents.This has got to be some kind of promotion. At least we really hope for Kelly's sake that it is. Cause we checked - the Atlantic City House Of Blues has a capacity of 2,000 people. That means if you were to sell out the place, the concert will bring in a whopping $1,500. That's about what Beyonce spent on dinner last night....
Why is everyone screaming about management??? I like Kelly bc she was a part of DC, but that doesn't make me want to spend money to go see her. Well...(digging in my pocket for 75 cents) I will now but hell...she doesn't have the "IT" factor that makes superstars. Whoever your personal *** is. Good Morning: I want to say that kelly rowland will make a single next time. she can sing. what about the show that she is going to have singing with the choir. it is three of three of them that will be doing this. look you know that kelly has a good voice. and like that say the third one is a hit. and that will be kelly rowland. so don't give up on her. I brought her old cd and the new one and I like both of them. she give her cd a change have you actually listen to the whole cd before talking about it. because it sound very good. when you are not doing nothing and just want to listen to music why you are just sitting there listen to her cd. give it a change ok.

Well, if this story is really true, she has Matthew Knowles to thank for that. If Destiny's Child had more than one foreground singer, then I believe that all the girls would have successful careers right now. But, since Beyonce was always the one to outshine everyone in the group, she's going to be the only one whom fans remember and will be willing to pay real money to see.

I am not a super Kelly fan but I am not a hater or a basher either. She is doing her thing and she is very talented but she has a harder road to travel because everyone keeps comparing her to Beyonce' who has tremendous and ridiculous support behind her.
I don't think MTO has anyone's best interest at heart. It's a shame because you don't see white or hispanic news mediums bashing their own. I am a writer so freedom of press and speech is very important to me as well. However, if you are going to post such things, make sure it is true first. I am in the industry and go back and forth to NY and LA so I know a lot of this stuff firsthand. So many people comment on things and have absolutely no idea at all. Sometimes it's funny but a lot of times it's hurtful. This is their livelyhood and bashing somebody's career is just not cool. "SHe should be a model" What if someone came to your job that you have been doing since you were 10 years old and told you that you needed to do something else. Think about it. No I have never been to Philton's site, never even heard of it. MTO gives me enough negative energy. But thanks for giving him a plug though.

Truth be told she probably doesn't even read sites like this.... but record sales don't lie and if this were an office job and her performance was lacking as its been so far she would receive the negativity from her boss or co-workers.
Yes she's been singing for a long time but not as long as a solo artist.IMO I don't think she's really comfortable as one and that's what shows in her music.
