: MediaTakeOut.com has some sad news to report. According to one of our faithful readers, actress Maia Campbell is currently staying in a mental hospital in California. Word is that the hospital diagnosed her as bipolar and schizophrenic and is holding her for treatment.
Maia is best known for starring opposite LL Cool J in the TV series In The House. Hope she gets everything under control. Last we heard of her, she was making the below video:

depression is a serious disease and you'd be surprised at the things that cause it. it's not a freak disease that ONLY nuts and rejects get. some of the most creative, ingenious, phenomenal people frm writers to scientists have suffered from something similar to what Maia is going through.

People on the outside looking in are always quick to pass judgement whether they have all the facts or not.
NEWS FLASH ~~ We are all WEAK at some point for some reason or for somebody so the fact that this woman hasn't been able to handle the everyday stresses in her life is no reason to judge her so harshly.

Last year this time she made the news in Philly, for stealing a car from some guy, they were going somewhere her forgot something and went back into the house to get it when he came out his car and Maia was gone. A warrent was put out for her arrest.That's a shame she's a beautiful girl. Hope she recovers.
She has been on drugs for years. She was also a video girl for some time, but she's been in and out of drug rehabs for years. It looks like it's taking it's toll on her. She was extremely pretty so, it would have been easy for her to become really famous, but she didn't have the common sense to say no to drugs *** shame. But, overall, we didn't need to see this video to know she might be back on drugs after all once a drug addict usually always a drug addict.

My prayers goes out to her.....she didn't get this way UNTIL AFTER her mother passed. It very difficult to get past this type of lose so easily and apparently she had folks around who never craed about her well being. Some fool gave her some drugs knowing she was vunerable and she bit. Get better sweety and grasp hold of the blessings that you were given.

Her mothers last book was 72 hour hold and it was a novel about dealing with a young woman with mental illness who knew it was her own daughter... very sad I'm sure everyone has known some1 on drugs personally or by association it truly takes a toll on all those close to the family... This is not the first time I have heard this. If anyone has paid attention before, her mother was renowned author Bebe Moore Campbell who died recently of brain cancer.
Her last novel is called, "72 Hour Hold," about a mother going to extremes to try and find proper care for her teenaged daughter who is bipolar.
Even though it was a work of fiction, there was clearly some truth to the novel. For a glimpse into what Ms.Campbell and Maia may have experienced, please read the novel.
It is moving, intriguing, and quite disturbing; almost frightening. Mental illness is no joke, folks.
Seeing that was so sad. Poor Maia, I guess losing her mother is taking a toll on her. I knew her mom was the late Bebe Moore Campbell, but I didn't know that the two of them were estranged, nor did I know that Maia was bipolar. She needs help, regardless of the fact that she is a celebrity. Just because you have the fame doesn't make you immune from the issues of everyday life. Keep her in your prayers, yall.
The days of disrespect, dishonor and using our people (especially our beautiful sisters) are coming to an end. God's chosen people will rise and take this planet over and bring righteousness to the wicked world. Instead of trying to help this sister out and lend her a hand, all I read is hate.
