: The year in music wouldn't be complete without another album push back. MediaTakeOut.com has learned that Nas' new album - called The 'N Word' has been pushed back to February next year.
But there's more to this pushback. The word coming out of Def Jam is that they're looking to capitalize on the controversy by having it released at the start of Black History Month.
Nas, we know you're trying to be provocative and sell records. But you need to be smarter than to have some fools over at a record label push you into doing some disrespectful mess like this....
dooes anyone here actually listen to NAS? I am guessing NOT! Look I am a hip hop head to the fullest. If nas is naming his album this it is because he is being political in nature. He is trying to make a statement about the word, culture, and society in general! If Cornell West announced that he was going to give a speech called "Ni$$a" everyone would already know dude got something relevant to say. They would not question his motives because it would be an understood that he is going to attack this cultural stigma at some level! They would already know that he is not BLINDLY doing this, it is done deliberately and with some type of message! THE SAME WITH NAS PEOPLE!!!!! He is one of the most prolific and political hip hop stars of my generation. THAT IS WHY PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT UP ON HIP HOP SHOULD REFRAIN FROM COMMENTING ABOUT IT. Everyone is in agreement that it needs to be sort of reborn but the misguided attacks do just as much harm as the hoe's and bytch's. For yall not to know why dude is naming his album this lets me know ya'll don't listen to the man!
tallbone if you REALLY listen to Nas HOW do you not understand why he is naming his album this. THE POINT IS NOONE KNOWS WHAT HE IS EXACTLY GOING TO SAY UNTIL HIS ALBUM DROPS! But if you listen to Nas you should know it has to do with SOMETHING POLITICAL IN NATURE. He is going to in some way attack the word...not big up it!
from an interview with NAS FROM PLAYAHATA.COM. .................................................
I’m a street disciple. I’m talking to the streets. Stay out of our business. You ain’t got no business worrying about what the word ‘n***er’ is or acting like you know what my album is about without talking to me. Whether you in the NAACP or you Jesse Jackson. I respect all of them … I just want them to know: Never fall victim to Fox. Never fall victim to the s**t they do. What they do is try to hurry up and get you on the phone and try to get you to talk about something you might not know about yet.”
Nas continued, “If Cornell West was making an album called N***er, they would know he’s got something intellectual to say. To think I’m gonna say something that’s not intellectual is calling me a ***, and to be called a *** by Jesse Jackson and the NAACP is counterproductive, counter-revolutionary.”
The rapper also explained what he hopes to accomplish by titling the album, N***er. He said, “I wanna make the word easy on mutha****as’ ears. You see how white boys ain’t mad at ‘[EXPLETIVE]’ ’cause it don’t have the same (sting) as ‘***’? I want ‘***’ to have less meaning (than) ‘[EXPLETIVE].’ With all the bulls**t that’s going on in the world, racism is at its peak. I wanna do the s**t that’s not being done. I wanna be the artist who ain’t out. I wanna make the music I wanna hear.”
The rapper added, “We’re taking power from the word. No disrespect to none of them who were part of the civil-rights movement, but some of my dudes in the streets don’t know who (civil-rights activist) Medgar Evers was. I love Medgar Evers, but some of the brothas in the streets don’t know Medgar Evers, they know who Nas is. And to my older people who don’t now who Nas is and who don’t know what a street disciple is, stay outta this mutha****in’ conversation. We’ll talk to you when we’re ready. Right now, we’re on a whole new movement. We’re taking power from that word.”
HOPE THIS CLEARS IT UP FOR SOME OF YA'LL
antidumb...... #1 When he portrayed jusus on the cross he was using a metaphore for the fact that whenever you STAND up and speak the truth you will carry a cross, a burden to bear! (hell my pastor says that every other week in church). And he calls himself a STREET DECIPLE....a reference to christianity...a statement meaning he is the one who talks for the brther on the street, the thugs, the dope boys. He says he speaks for that segment of the population that folks like you deem as worthless. # 2 He is an artist not Jesus himself. Marvin *** broke ground when he released songs such as Troubled Man and whats going on , BUT the critics discredited him because they say he made songs like sexual heeling. (that song although popular was very controversial at the time). Tupac made Dear mama, Trapped, and Brendas got a baby, but made Hitem up and I get around. Trick daddy makes some the most ignorant songs to date but also got BANGGERS like AmeriKKKa. Martin L. King was an adulter, Noah was a drunk...so on and so forth. So what was your point? #3 I do not condone the word. I do not use the word at all in everyday conversation. BUT what I also don't make it a habit to do is to bash brothers who are OBVIOUSLY trying to raise the consciousness of my people, no matter if I like the packaging or not. Nas had like 10 conscious songs on his last album. He except with 1 album has consistently dropped conscious music...so what are you talking about? You would discredit his complete package over the minority club songs he puts out? #4 why in every post you offer do you bring up us in regards to how WHITE folks see us. You seem less concerned with the empowerment of your people than what you do withthe fact that we embarrass you in front of your cracka friends!! You ALWAYS come off like our soul mission as black folks is to gain approval in whity's society! Im sorry sweetie I see relevance and potential in all my people. From the dope boys to corporate ken. The dope boys need direction, but you cannot reach them fighting that 1960's fight. Its a new day and we need a new approach. Let Nas open up eyes the way he can! Like he said they dont know Medgar but they know him! How can you be so critical over the PACKAGING without examining the content?????? Thats a very foolish move, and a very shallow way to analyze anything! Just my opinion but you need to stick to academia and leave the streets to someone else! You talk to middle class black america and let someone else handle the rest. Your problem is you seem to think that one approach will work for the entire struggle for equality. NOT THE CASE. Bill Cosby is the man for my Dad. Nas is the man for my Son!
I have to agree with sosincere on this one. Before we get all outraged about this album, maybe we need to educate ourselves about Nas' intentions when naming it such a controversial word.
And even if I don't necessarily agree with his logic, I definitely understand his reasoning. Why DO we continue to give this word so much power over us? Plenty of other ethnicities have been descriminated against and demeaned, but they haven't let their past and those racials slurs slow their roll. So why does the black community come to a screeching halt over one word? It's something that deserves discussion and if Nas thinks his album will serve as a catalyst to get us thinking, more power to him.
It's like that whole "Read a Book" controversy from a while back. We condemn folks who are trying to get us to think outside of the box and take a look at our actions. Black satirist and social commentators can't get a leg up because anytime they hit on a touchy issue, we get outraged and run with it without really looking at the purpose.
@ Antidumb
"We have HANDED THE WORD NIG*GER TO SOCIETY."
Actually, they gave the word to us and WE ran with it. Before, when discrimination were overt and commonplace, it was understandable why that word carried so much weight. But now, we are the ones giving the word power and continue to give it power everytime we react to it.
I liked the example that you used with Jill Scott, but I think it actually negated your point. The very fact that she laughed in their faces and confronted them was her way of saying "that word has NO power over me and I won't let it define me." More of us need to take this approach when faced with this word, instead of the usual outrage. Because at the end of the day, our getting upset and protesting only gives others more reason to say it.
I don't know about Nas, but I do agree that we need to start facing this word head on and INTELLIGENTLY. Getting upset and calling Jesse Jackson isn't going to change a thing. Their like ***, they use the word because they know it will get a rise out of us every time. Perhaps if we did reclaim this word, examine it and really determine why we continue to let it affect us in the manner that it does, we might actually make some headway in wiping it from our vocabulary. Instead, we'll just sound the ni@@er alarms everytime to racist says it, hold a press conference and then forget about until the next *** uses it. (I'm tired of the cycle and Al *** is running out of spaces on his @$$ to kiss.)
And you know what, I have had someone call me a ni@@er and while it was disconcerting (especially because I was younger), I didn't let it scar me. My family hails from Klan Country, so none of this is new. But for me to get upset would give off the impression that 1) you're somehow right and I am a ni@@er (because I only get upset when someone touches on a truth I'm not ready to handle) and 2) that what they had to say somehow impacted my life. I don't give two *** what someone has to SAY about me as long as you don't infringe on my way of living. Threaten my family, it's on. Bar me from equal employment, we have a problem. But resort to some antiquated racial slur that morons use because they can't think of a better way to hurt me, not my problem. Their ignorance is just that, their ignorance and I refuse to let it have any bearing on my life.
I tried to be nice but YOU ARE THE ***!!!!!!! yOU JUST SAID.....
"It WON'T WORK, because it will ALWAYS BE USED AS A TOOL, WHEN THE PERSON IS ANGERED."
Nas is saying..... WE NEED TO STOP BEING ANGERED BY THIS WORD!!! IT CAN'T EFFECT US IF WE STOP EVEN GIVING IT ATTENTION. IF WE DONT GET UPSET THEN HOW CAN IT HARM US!!!! We look like bigger ***'s when we get all rah rah over Imus and stupidity like that. I could care LESS if a cracka call me a ni$$a cause Im probably calling them a CRACKA like I just did! We are over emotional as a people. You have stated that. So how then do you justify being so emotionally charged about this man naming this album this when his INTENT IS CLEAR AS DAY!!!!! EMOTION GOT YOU JUDJING THIS MANS ALBUM BEFORE YOU HEARD ONE VERSE!!!!!!!!He has a stated logic behind it but you want to push logic to the side and just say ITS A HURTFUL POWERFUL WORD SO WHY USE IT...SHAME ON HIM!!!!! You contradict yourself! it dont work just one way ***! If we are OVERLY emotional when white folks call us it don't you think we can be OVERLY emotional when it comes from a brother or sista? What Nas is saying is take the emotion out either way.then at least we won't be HYPOCRITICAL AND EMOTIONAL! Look Im done fooling with you. You have your head stuck up your own self rightous ***! You act like your Bill Cosby aproach is the only viable way to get a message across and it's not. So you live on the moon and I will try to do what I can here on earth. YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN THE HOOD CATS YOU ARE ALWAYS BASHING!!!! PLEASE KNOW THIS! You act ,like you are the last enlightened blackman on the planet. ELITIST SUCKA! You said "it makes us seem uninteligent".....to who? I think Nas and his stance is very pragmatic, very, calculated, and very intelligent. I bet it's a lot of folks who see that too. Maybe they arn't the folks you deal with but we are there. PEACE BE UNTO YOU THEO! P.S. My husband went to prison for 5 years on some street ***. He got out ....got his degree (in accounting) and TALKS, MOVES AND THINKS JUST LIKE ANY OTHA BROTHA ON THE BLOCK! He does taxex at tax time but other than that he operates his own business and works with young men from our neighborhood. By first glance you would size him up I bet, but he is controlled, diciplined and STRONG! He works with nothing but young men nd got a following behind him so strong now I swear if he told them to help him blow up the white house they would do it. BUT hes a positive force in their life. He would not be able to reach the men he does if it wern't for his APPROACH! The fact that he works from the inside out and not *** at them. My point........STOP TRYING TO PAINT ALL BLACK FOLKS WITH THAT ONE BIG *** UNCIVILIZED BRUSH STROKE.
I wont even direct this at you because I know you cannot handle me! SO FOR ANYONE ELSE ON HERE WHO HAS A BRAIN ....... MY PEOPLE...... please understand that it is not the 40's 50' and 60's. The fight our fathers fought is NOT BROUGHT THE SAME. The mentalities of our fathers is NOT THE MENTALITIES OF THES YOUNGINS TODAY!
antidumb......BABY, THIS IS NOT YOUR FATHERS FIGHT!!!!!!! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD!!!! Your father did from what I can tell a good job at raising his son. I totally disagree with you on almost everything but you are strong willed and obviously have convictions that you stand upon! But if you continue to try to fight this current fight with your father in mind you will be missing the generation that needs you now who flat out don't know nor care what your father went through! We are a overly emotional people but we are also a anti progressive thinking people. Why do we KEEP hanging on to the 60's and figures from that era. If the "leader don't fit that text book "black leader" stereotype....the marches, the speeches, the oration, the holding hnds and singing songs.....we don't want to call them leaders. NAS IN HIS OWN RIGHT IS VERY MUCH A LEADER! Why is he not? If his words effect change in a segment of the population why is he not one then? So what your dad don't care about hip hop or Nas. A MILLION LIL BLACK KIDS IN INNER CITY SCHOOLS DO SO WHY NOT USE THIER OWN VEHICLE TO REACH THEM INSTEAD OF TRYING TO REINVENT THE WHEEL!!! Again you suffer from tunnel vision. You need to get out that "old negro spiritual" box you are in. Its beautiful to remember the past...but it's counterproductive to live in it! and how do you have the audacity to tell someone HOW THEY ARE GOING TO REACT. If I said it don't effect me then it don't effect me! I am a good a grown woman.I am quite in controll over my emotions. Emotion is not an invoulentary response. People have COMPLETE AND UTTER CONTROLL OVER THEM! If I have told myself what my perception of the word is TO ME then it in turn becomes MY REALITY....not yours or anyone elses.YOU irk me more than a racist white man ever could! I swear! And Im through with you! p.s. I said the same thing nubian huntress said only I curse....alot. Again, you claim to be such a deep thinker but you appear to be very surface level to me!
antidumb....God can do but so much, HE HAS REVEALED THE PAIN THAT COMES WITH THIS WORD? even when we don't want to feel it(JILL SCOTT)
Im sorry boo.....MY god does not give me the spirit of fear, or hurt. (every other sunday...again) Sunday school 101 teaches that fear, pain, hurt, and misery are all human constructs and if you just believe in him then count ALL things joy. (not all things except the word ni$$a). I refse to believe that God gets extra irked at the word ni$$A! Get your faith right son. Words should slip off you like water off a ducks back!
Again, though YOU MAY WANT TO, you CANNOT WIPE OUT THE PAIN OF THIS WORD, because NAS, in our YOUNG GENERATION SAYS YOU CAN. . Nas and the younger generation don't say I can. GOD tells me all things are posible through him. If he can be the doctor in the surgery room then Im sure he can help me to become oblivious to the word NI$$a! aGAIN WE DON'T HAVE TO GO waaayyyyyy back from the begining of the word. It has hurtful origins and it will ALWAYS THE TRUTH. bUT WHAT WE CAN DO IS START FROM today AND SAY NO MORE. You hurt me before with that word, you got me bent if you think I am going to react to it NOW. god bless the child thats got it's own!!!!! AMEN SAINTS!!!!! ....LOL
@ ALL THE FOLKS on here debating over antics & judgments that still exist.. After sitting here reading everyones point of views, everyone has VALID points.. I'm able to see eye to eye with both SOSINCERE & ANTIDUMB...
After snapping out of the zone I was in while reading all this, something just clicked *** my head like a light bulb....
I wonder do white people sit & debate over race & argue/disrespect/ridicule/demean each other over race.. NO! They stick together.. The swallow each others point of views on their prejudices & keep it moving.. Im starting to really feel like black people are more racist towards each other..
Like SOSINCERE was saying, lets focus on the EMPOWERMENT of our people, stick together, not cut each other freakin throats over the ***. These days whites dont have to disrespect or hurtus, they sit back in shame with a grime laughing while we tear each other down on our own..
People need to grasp that we all have different point of views. Take it for what its worth, store whats important & keep it moving.. STOP FIGHTING.
I never leave comments, but I sit & read ANTIDUMBS comments & watch so many people get OVERLY offended & ANTIDUMB never admits if she/he was wrong &/or agrees to disagree.. Alot of time ANTIDUMBS knows his/her sh*t. But will not back down if someone objects... ANTIDUMB its ok, its just words.. Everyone will not understand u how ever much u try....
Be Blessed..
I refuse to sit on here & argue.. I have work to do.

lol ive been in a zone reading all of it also i couldnt quite grasps all of antidumb's point it was almost like they were just rambling with the same words in every post but anyway sosincere i mos def feel where you are comin from its a new generation new time we dont live by the same codes no more jus like we dont wear bellbottoms anymore kids back in the day had a reason to look up to people like martin luther king and malcolm x they where fighting a war that was on the surface nowadays things are deeper in society all the old heads are dying off a new leaders must rise up i promise u that the rap artist have way more pull on the youth of today then jesse jackson or al *** and its not that they dont respect its jus that they cant really relate to them no1 wants to hear jesse talk no1 wants to march on washington no1 wants to have sit-ins or boycotts its a different day and we have to realize as a whole how to reach our youth i think its great the Nas is stepping jus like David Banner, Chamillionaire and even old *** Master P stepped up im glad they have seen that they are who youngsters listen to
and nobody wants to be called a ni@@er jus like no female wants to be called a B!t@h and no big person wants to be called fat so thats not a valid point antidumb the words are all meant to harm but ultimately how u percieve it
@ jkellz.. i agree.. sosincere is speaking the real... antidumb seems like his/her soul purpose is to make (weak/narrow minded people) feel dumb.. Not cool at all.. Its been said alot & I'll say it again "god dont like ugly".. Antidumb claims he/she is so deep, well maybe u need to come to the surface.. welcome to earth! Ur not one to jugde or ridicule.. Why dont make invest & start a star gossip magazine.. U seem pretty into other folk business.. But hey, whatever tickles ur fancy..

Only in America!!
This phrase above may sound like I'm ignorant but I'm from the Islands.
Islanders don't go around calling each other ***!**ers. Something is wrong with the American Generations today. Black Americans use to be a strong culture that many foreign cultures would look up to but this is pure ignorance. I took my time to learn about the American culture and glorifying that word is no way helping the cause and it won't change how the word was used in history. Whites will always use that word in the manner of hate for the black race. That's like taking the word "ignorant" and saying it's now cool to called ignorant, when we all know the english definition of the term. People need to wake up and realize that everything is about the dollar, not unity.
listen bruh you can't say what you want about my typing skills, word usage and lack of punctuation marks but i promise you that if you and i was sent to a room of 500 people and told to lead yo *** would be in the audience whispering to closed ears while i was onstage proclaiming the truths of the world grow up man we talking bout nas and leaders and you talkin foolishness and yes since you wanna use terms its Ni@@as like you that dont need power with power comes responsibility and leadership abilities and the *** to do what others wouldn’t do along with the *** to say wat others won't say nas is breaking those walls down cause he is a leader dont buy the cd if you dont want it
jkellz....... there is absolutly no need to even respond to antidumb. He is too in love with his own voice to see the truth. He never has anything REMOTELY constructive to say outside of calling ANIMALS AND WILD, AND IGNORANT. He definately cannot hang with logic! (you see he has yet to get back at me with a rebuttle to the double sided overemotional nature of our people in regards to the word...he tried to throw God in it and that didn't work either.) A few posts back on another topic where he was calling black peopee animals , someone asked him what does he plan to do about it and dude said he was going to write A BOOK called "black baby boomers"....lol. Waste of time. I told him I was sorry cause Bill Cosby already has the tough luv thing on lock. And he talking about Malcolm, and Marcus and they KEPT it on the streets...in the HOOD with the very people he calls animals. He talks alot but with NO SUBSTANCE. we need to not accept this...we need to rid the race of the animalistic nature that....no wonder why white folks hate us this....we are an embarassment that.....lol. HE IS A JOKE! He wouldn't even be that bad if he would just admit sometimes that others do make valid points! But on the productive end....all this fuss over this word is counterproductive anyway. While we are arguing... STILL...over the word ni$$A it's taking me 70$ to fill my tank, the economy is worth ish, and public eduacation is a joke. BIGGER FISH TO FRY! NAS IS THE TRUTH AND IM GLAD HE IS USING HIS SHINE TO MAKE A POINT....ANY POSITIVE POINT. Nuff said. Ya'll be blesssed.
Have someone say an anti- jewish word, some *** pops off......the words may not mean much, the reality is some *** still exist in our communities, and I aint talking about the cool ones....
Learn our history people!!! PLEASE......it's real in 2007 when people forget blacks still have problems.....ok, real ones, look at the jails, i bet the police say " lets jail a ***"...
so how the *** are we removed from the reality of being *** in our own country then, I wake up, and I love me, but I REALIZE that there some messe up *** still happening to PEOPLE OF COLOR AFRICAN DESCENT!!!
doesnt matter if you half black or mixed, or creole or carribean or african or whatever the *** you want to say, you got some african blood, u better recogize the game or you will be *** up and brainwashed....
period
Antidumb, reading is fundamental. NO ONE said make it positive. But since you can't read between the lines, I'm not going to bash my head trying to explain any further. Continue to be the man's puppet and jump when he says jump. (Because that's what they're doing when the say the word ni@@er. They know you'll hop on up and down and give them all kinds of attention, which is what they want in the end. Notice the trend? Say ni@@a get a whole bunch of publicity, apologize, sweep it under the rug and resurrect your career stronger than it was before. Imus got a new contract and I wouldn't be shocked if Dog got a new show somewhere else. It's almost to the point that white folks who need attention know that all they have to do is drop the ***-bomb. Need to boost your sagging ratings, drop the ***-bomb. Want to get more listeners? Drop the ***-bomb. Without thinking, you're actually ensuring their success. The more people hear about the latest ni@@er controversy, the more exposure they get. So keep up the good work, I'm certain Imus thanks you from the bottom of his heart.)
You're a prime example that black people don't think beyond the end of our noses and a prime example of how we'll never get any further in the fight. Because we're still busy fighting words, instead of ideas. We aren't saying ignore the word, we're saying confront it head on. But we all know a lot of black folks are nothing but TALK, so that won't happen. Do I use the word? No. Do I think that it should be as prolific as it is in modern society? HELL NO. I taught children who didn't know the difference between being black and being a ni@@er. They thought that sh!t was synonymous with each other. But that's just the reason why we need to actually confront this word. So that our children understand it's not cute to call one another that. And also so they understand, that while people may use it to belittle you and demean you, you are stronger than a word. Is Nas the best person to do this? Maybe not, but at least he's trying, instead of cowering in the back whimpering because someone called him a racial slur. It's a step towards actual thought and reflection. And while he may not be the best role model, he is on the youth's level. You need people who can relate to translate the struggle to the new generation. You can't do it from a top a pedestal, pointing fingers and laying blame. You've got to meet the new generation where they are and pull them up from there. Not look down your nose and tell them everything they're doing wrong.
And please stop citing your family, like you all were the only ones who dealt with the cruelty of racism. As I said, we hail from Klan country. My grandfather had them breathing down his neck, but he did not let it control him or dictate how he was giving to live his life or raise his family. When one of those redneck showed up at HIS DOOR calling him out and calling him a ni@@er, he didn't fuss and fight. He didn't scream and *** and cry about how offended he was. He simply got his rifle and told the man to get off of his property. And while he may have been angered at the man's audacity to step foot on HIS land, he didn't get caught up on the WORD. But that's just my family and we were taught that nothing a man says from his lips has power over you.
But at the same time, why aren't we attacking the IGNORANT rappers who say that *** every other word on their albums. If 50 made an album labeled "Lynch that Darkie Ni@@er and then Shake Your *** in Da Club" folks would be flocking to buy that mess. But when someone is trying to start an honest dialog about it, when get in an uproar. You may not think Nas is the best person to do so, why not? He's in the right demographic to get the message that to the people who really need it. I don't agree with that mess about rules on how to use the word, but I do agree that we need to remove its power. But that will never happen as long as we keep lamenting and letting it control us. Maybe then, we can let it go from our language all together.
First, I'm not going to attack you because I address ideas, not individuals. Let's agree to disagree and call it a day. You're definitely not going to change my mind and I don't particularly care if I change yours. I could address your points but you'd have counterpoints and we could go back and forth all day on this, and at last check neither of our jobs pay us to talk on the net. And you mentioning fighting, who's fighting? We're all free to express our opinions and others are free to disagree with them, that doesn't mean you have beef with the person. Why are you taking everything others say as a personal attack? Step back and breathe.
antidumb.... you are unbelievable.......Im am though with you. Because INSTEAD of commenting on what is laid out in fromnt of you you choose to add all kinds of othe epitaphs to back up what you say. Until you can give me a sound rebuttle to ANYPOINT I have made I am through talking with you. You are a complete waste of my time. You went RIGHT BACK AND ASKED YOUR FATHER...DIDNT WE ALREADY ADDRESS THAT THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOUR DADDY! TAKE YOUR DUMB *** TO THE BLOCK AND ASK SOME OF THOSE KIDS...LAME! THE BATTLE DOES NOT STEM FROM YOUR PARENTS HOUSE...THERE ARE MANY AVENUES, MANY BATTLEGROUNDS, AND YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY CLUELESS TO LIFE PAST YOUR *** UPBRINGING. GROW THE F' UP MAMMAS BOY AND REALIZE THAT THERE IS A BIG BLACK WORLD OUTHERE AND IT IS GOING TO TAKE MORE THAN SOME UPITY *** HOUSE NI$$A LIKE YOU TALKING FROM SUBURBIA(WHETHER PHYSICALLY OR FOR *** SURE MENTALLY) TO EFFECT SOME TYPE OF CHANGE. You know nothing except what it seems that FOX and all other media outlets feed you about your own people. Go write your corny *** book that gangstas won't read and let others deal with them. You said I don t fight with my *** ...I fight with words. Well hows that going for you or any of us? You cited Malcolm, Martin and Marcus i one of your posts. THEY ALL FOUGHT WITH ACTION NOT JUST WORDS! THEY MADE SPEECHES BUT THEY HIT THE PAVEMENT TO BACK IT UP.
"Your thinking about yourself, and acting as if the small communtiy of people who feel as you do, CAN LEAD THIS RACE.
This is not POSSIBLE, you CANNOT CLEANSE THE WORD"
THOSE SILLY WORD FROM YOU RIGHT THERE IS WHAT LETS ME KNOW THAT YOU ARE A CLAWN *** HOUSE NEGRO. tHE CIVIL RIGHT MOVEMENT STARTED OUT AS small community of people. the black panthers were a small community of people. all activism starts grass roots which is a small group of people! So you believe that your book calling your sistas and brothas animals will efectively get the job done.? Ask Bill how he's doing with that? All he has done is stir up dialouge and controversy which isn't neccessarily a bad thing because it gets people talking. BUT it still fosters division and dis unity. ALL NAS IS TRYING TO DO IS STIR UP DIALOUGE WITHIN A POPULATION THAT IS NOT GIVING A RATS *** ABOUT BILL OR HIS BOOK. Its funny how you keep on throwing that dead f'*** point about we trying to dictate the usage of the word as if ANYONE ever said that! So what basis does that have in this discussion. AND since that is the premise to your whole argument I will declare this a victory...because you are so pathetic you make me lausgh...lol. I would deal with every brother in the prison population over you. ...lol. Until you can tell me ONE...ONE concrete thing you have ever doneto effect a change fall the f' back. You are like a hot breeze. Alot of breath being wasted with talk. I gaurentee Nas has effected more people than YOU EVER HAVE! Put up or *** up. p.s...Dummy conscious music NEVER SELLS. iF HE WAS REALLY JUST TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK HE'D DO THE WHOLE *** SHAKE YOUR *** THING. HE IS DOING THE TYPE OF MUSIC HE ALWAYS....ALWAYS DOES. Do you have a copy of his last album? If not again STFU! I hate when people try to speak intelligently about something they know little about? And Bob Marley smoked weed and he was one of the greatest not just musicians but PEOPLE...ACTIVISTS in history. But house ni$$as like you draw out the negative to discredit the positive! You are truely a pawn for the white man and you don't even know it....lol Sambo! No wonder kids don't respect brothers like you! Again Martin Luther King was a Adulter.....was he not. What you got to say about that! But he wears suits and spoke beautifully and fit that mold so HE IS A TRUE LEADER!!!!! gET OUT OF HERE....YOU ARE A COMPLETE AND TOTAL LAME! No need to respond back with another one of your baseless...."YOU AND YOUR CREW WANT TO TELL WHIT PEOPLE HOW TO USE THE WORD...LOL NO WONDER WHY THEY DON'T RESPECT US!" ...drawn out paragraphs. Heard it before. White folks are going to try to hurt our feelings as long as racisnm still exsits. But I have the power like with anything else in my life to decide if it hurts me or not. Sorry you seem to think that we as a people are not strong enough to have controll over our emotions. Too bad Jill, you and your dad and anyone else have not grasped that yet. I bet my daughter has! Call her a ni$$a and she immediately says My name is ***'dea and it means beauty. The same way you call her India (which is a mispronunciation of her name). She handles them the same and don't break stride doing it. She went to an all white school so best believe I had to have that talk with her at age 5! GOD BLESS THE CHILD THAT HAS IT'S OWN!
My grandmother told me long ago to never argue with fools because people cannot tell who is who! I am going to leave it at that. PEACE BE UNTO YOU REGARDLESS AND MANY BLESSINGS!
@ Antidumb
At some point whether you agree or not with Nas, we as adults must move on from this word. There has been death, violence etc, attached to it.
Btu to let the people responsible for this still have tremendous power over us from the use of the word is dangerous!
It's a big joke to them and it always will be. It represents opression now and in the past.
But now it's time to detach the pain, and power from it and show these barbarians that it is useless, childish, and that now we own the power now!
Once these cowards see that, it'll wipe that demonic smile off of their faces!
See I'm proactive not reactive, I don't believe in handing the enemy my power!
I'm not saying it's ok I'm just saying they'll get a bigger laugh out you crying over it than NAS naming his album that!
I know they're jealous of our swagger, and all they have is this old word that we respond to negatively!
I've never heard a black man call another one ***.I.G.G.E.R.
I've heard one say ***.I.G.G.A. which stands for Never Ignorant Getting Goals Accomplished
This album might spark the biggest dicussion this country this has ever had on this word.
I'll just continue to show them how a double thorough Black Man operates, beacuse I know that's what their insecure about!
The word is only as powerful as you let it be!
Okay, StayPoppin01 we are on the same page. Because if anyone who posted actually knows what Nasir Jones is about they know that he did not name his album *** to dis and that becuase of his poetic nature the word is used to raise awareness and to provoke thought about so many issues plaguing us (blacks) today (like all of his albums in the past) And what if he named it Money, Cars and Hoes that would be a better title. WTF!!!! It's about time a real MC steps back up to the plate and teach the ignorant peeps that people don't want to hear about how many cars, hoes or bricks you got. I respect Nas because he doesn't let the game change him and besides that how many times have all of you said *** today.....I know a million right.....hypocrites!!!!!!
@ MsChievious
Ditto!!!
Hip hop started out to raise awareness among Blacks and Puerto Ricans in the inner city's across America.
Somewhere that concept got lost when money started being made, and people got wealthy.
That Money, Cars, Hoes concept killed the original purpose of something that started out positive!
I'll be tuned in when this album comes out, because I think some good will come out of it.
You're right, we'll always want some party records for having a good time, but for most of these rappers (not MC's) to be on the front lines has to be challenged by MC's like Nas.
This art is more than just rapping about material things that can't love or talk back to you!
@ Antidumb
First off, you question one of the greatest thinking product of Black Panther's Tupac Shakur.
You obviously didn't know anything about Pac's first album 2Pacalypse Now.
That where Never Ignorant Getting Goals Accomplished comes from.
Educate yourself before you speak!
I'm in network marketing where plenty of black millionaires, six figure earner's, and strong educated father's exist.
Not only that but I can introduce you to them.
I can stand behind my statement of being double thorough, can you?
Maybe the people you hang out with are weak, but don't apply that to me!
The only reason I am responding back is due to the whole "your daddy may be one comment......... Missed the whole point completely. Even if he was like your may be also IT DONT HOLD A FLAME TO THE FACT THAT HE WAS A GREAT FATHER WHO RAISED 3 KIDS AND PUT 2 THROUGH COLLEGE! Same with Martin...who WAS an adulter...check the FBI files . Don't your Mom's got access to them...lol! And YOU are the one who seems to want to throw up negatives to discredit the positive so you proved my point yet again! So what if he do smoke weed......and? Do that have ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIS MESSAGE? again DO YOU HAVE HIS LAST ALBUM OR NOT? If not then fall the *** back from commenting about a man you have limited prspective on! I noticed you stayed away from the "emotion is emotion argument be iit black or white"...and went to your silly *** commentary on your book! OK OK...you are going to write this awe inspiring book....quoting the same thing Bill quoted. I don't have a problem with Bill but you make me laugh because you are a off brand copy cat with no originality and even less heart!
You asked who you should ask if not your father????? Don't you think your father has HIS GENERATION ON LOCK? You said even your father is at a loss with the present generation....so what do you hope to gain by this? How about you actually give these young brothas and sistas enough credit to know that although they are mmisguided they are powerful..believe that! If you spoke about middle america fine but you constantly try to speak on what needs to be done to help the streets and you admit you want nothing to do with them. YOU SOUND FOOLISH! YOU GET NO RESPECT LIKE THAT. And I don't care if you from "the boogie down.....lol at you trying to use the local colloquiolism to make you sound authentic.....you still have the MENTALITY of a house NEGRO. You asked how you are a pawn for the white man because you just like massa tear down your own people even the ones that OBVIOUSLY try to make a difference because they don't fit into your box. And has nothing to do with you sounding "intelligent" and less ghetto! Again house ni$$A mentality got you under the assumption that good diction and grammer equals intelligence and broken english equals ghetto! Sojourner Truth spoke very broken english and was profound! Hell David Banner at times speaks broken english and is profound. Malcolm ,and about 15 street dudes I know right now may not use the correct structure but would eat yo *** alive on some real ish. You made a comment on Tupac and didn't even know where the quote came from. You made a comment on David Banner doing nothing and had no idea his LIFE revolves around charity work. You got a billion knocks at Nas's mentality and don't own but one album! Again...the battleground is on many different fronts. If you don't understand that you are worthless. Everybody on here is just deciding to leave you alone because they figure you are a lost cause NOT BECAUSE YOU HAVE A POINT so please don't confuse it. You keep expousing that "WE ARE WEAK" ***. You may be waek. You for *** sure don't speak for me or my people. Only weak people even let stuff like that roll off their tongue. Again you always bringing up God. ....or trying to. ...BLACK MEN (AND WOMEN) AE THE ORIGINAL MAN. MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD. If I am in his image I am in no way weak. The tongue is deadlier than the sword! What you speak you are. (sunday school 101...again). Thats why I REFUSE to call my people weak REGARDLESS TO WHAT STATE WE ARE IN. SOME....HEAR THAT SOME ARE ACTING LESS THAN THE GOD WITHIN US ....but that is drastically different than being weak. I tell you all the time LAME....don't paint all my peope with that weak paint brush. I noticed YOU STILL did not name ONE...ONE thing you have ever done besides talk! Name ONE thing your talk has accomplished. YOUR talk not Bill's. So again you can respond back till you turn blue in the face..but just know any point you mae from here on out is POINTLESS to me and you will still be a lame in my eyes till you answer THAT question! And please dont make up no corney *** I'I talked to this brother and he saw the error in his ways story". I can spot them a mile away and if it were true you would have BEEN *** back at me with the scenario. The truth is you are a fake *** house ni#$a. Take it or let it alone. Like Nas said...IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT A STREET DECIPLE IS STAY THE *** OUT THIS CONVERSATION. WE WILL TALK TO YOU WHEN WE GET READY!.....Toby!
"Anybody can be clever, I can take the word "[EXPLETIVE]" and think of a word for each letter, even positive one's too.
I asked you do we LIVE BY THAT?"
........................................... True story ..God as my witness........... I used to work at a community center (which is where I met my husband.) He was the mentor of a group of about 30 young men ages 12-19. I remember distinctly my husband in one of those groups w/ the men he held he hipped the dudes to that Never Ignorant Getting Goals Accomplished and they kicked it the whole session on Pac and what he was trying to say. The next week the young men showed up ON THEIR OWN AND TOGETHER with airbrushed Tshirts with Pac's slogan on it INSTEAD of some f'd up nickname and or set THAT THEY USED TO ALWAYS GET DONE. (airbrushing T *** was popular amongst them at this time but it was most always something negative.) They told us that they were making it a point to wear it to school so that they could educate their dudes who didn't go to the center. I swear on a REGULAR you would hear one of them checking a peer at the center for calling them a ni##a My husband worked with them same young men until they were good and grown. None are dead, none are in jail even though some did have some run in's which is reflective of the enviornment. And 8 went to college. THESE WAS STRAIGHT OFF THE BLOCK STREET DUDES! They lived within walking distance to the center and most lived in the projects which were about a block away. My husban didn't light that spark, TUPACS WORDS DID! HE JUST HAD THE ABILITY TO REACH THEM AT THEIR LEVEL AND BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN WHAT DUDE WAS SAYING AND MAKING IT RELEVANT TO THIER LIFE. these dudes began to believe that they were not the ni$#@as that society believed them to be. I know you may say 8 out of a nation is worth nothing....but ask thier parents (many of whom were NOT around, but still proud of their sons) how worthless it is. thank you PAC and my honey bunny for at least them 8. Those 8 are living by it. WHAT THE *** HAVE YOU DONE SINCE YOU SO EASILY CALLING THIS MAN IGNORANT? Pac is sooooo IGNORANT , right? How about they teach a COLLEGE CLASS IN THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT ON HIS POETRY AT UC BERKLEY!!!! Berkley...not youngstown state community college! Look it up if you don't believe me!
Again..Pac contributed to igniting a light in at least 30 young men I know and got critical thinkers at Berkley examining his artistry.....again what have you done to have the audacity to call this man IGNORANT?.....LOL You calling ignorant is just as disrespectful as calling a Ni@@#a. Dont address me unless you can tell me what YOU have done?
@Antidumb
To disrespect an iconic voice, and a man that employed black people, and helped the war on poverty, and his mother, a black woman that fought for your rights
Shows how *** out your character is!
Yo white folks you'll always be a *** word, stop begging for acceptance!
Yuo didnt address my concerns at all, you just told me to keep crying when I'm called a bad name like a child!
You're the definition of weak!
what...youve done nothing......STFU!...LOL BEING YOUNG IS NO EXCUSE. There are 18 year old millionaires! There are 18 year old activists. You speak from a LIMITED PERSPECTIVE is more the correct answer....lol. You can't sight ONE THING but got such a strong opinion but want to blame it on being "young"....just starting!...lol
Again....what about my doublesided overemotionl poin....still not tackled it yet! Do you have his album or not. If you do I can justify listening to your opinion on his music. If not you talk like a Fox reel. NEVER TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT.
Name 5 KRS songs......recent. You know he drop a album every year.
5 REASONS WHY YOU ARE A HOUSE *** 1. House *** look at the "other" negros as if they are better than them in some way. You do! 2. House *** instead of trying to join forces with their brothers they adapt the massas perception of them and try to disassociate themselves completely from them....you do. 3. House *** feel as if they are the sole shining stars of the race and it is up to them to reedeem the "black" perception in the eyes of society....you do 4. House *** think the closer to white the closer to right...you do 5. House *** have a hard time seeing past their own priveledged background and instead of truely understanding the dynamics behind alot of phsycosis they get frustrated with their bretheren for almost embarassing them and in turn turn the animosity from the structure that creates the monsters to the " monsters themselves". He is ashamed that them in their blackness is reflective of him.
"God gives everyone a different spirit, TOWARDS PROGRESS. Some are extremely hands on, some simply speak out and spread information." If you truely understand this leave Nas the *** alone and go writ your book. From your limited knowledge base and experience. If DON'T HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE TO TELL ONE THING YOU HAVE DONE TO EFFECT CHANGE THEN WHY WOULD ANYONE TAKE YOUR WORD FOR THE REMEDY FOR CHANGE. Your hypothesis is not tested even by you yet. Why don't you test your Hypothesis, get some data on if it will work and THEN WRITE YOUR BOOK youngin. Or else you amount to THEORY WITHOUT PRACTICE WHICH IS INCOMPLETE.
"You HAVE TO BE A THINKER, to REALLY MAKE IT, think of a BUSINESS PERSON, I do hair also, I could go tomorrow and lease a building throw in some furniture have a shop, all because I think "am the bomb" at styling hair..
*** I learn about the business first?
Wouldn't that result in longer term success?"
If you have never done anything to effect any type of change yet then HOW THE *** ARE YOU QUALIFIED TO WRITE A *** BOOK ON IT? What because your daddy gave you some pointers.....????
"----After haven't set up my life for security now I can FOCUS MY ATTENTION on the reality of this race. This is based on observance and experience dealing with my race. And knowing how our MENTALITIES are driving us in the wrong direction."....
observance of who?????????? You have said time and time again you DON'T DO THE HOOD! YOU DON'T DO HANDS ON WITH HOOD BROTHERS! So what are you observing? What the media tells you?......again the sign of a well trained house ni@#a. YOU DON'T WRITE A BOOK FROM THE SIDELINES! BILL, MIKE DYSON, CORNELL WEST, JAMES MCWHORTER, AMIRI BARAKA, TAVIS SMILEY, and the list goes on have all PAID THIER DUES. THEY HAVE DONE MORE THAN FORMED A DARN OPINION. They ALL OF THEM either worked in the inner city , taught in the inner city, or did philantrophy in the inner city. It dont work the way you think young one. Yes some people are hands on...yes some are writers...but NOT IN THIS CASE. This is too deep a subject to think you can expound upon in without entrentching yourself within it. HOW CAN YOU SAY HIP HOP DON'T WORK IF YOU DON'T KNOW A HELL OF ALOT ABOUT HIP HOP! You didn't even know that quote came from tupac but got such a strong opinion on hip hop!
tHERE FORE SINCE YOU HAVE NOT DINE ENOUGH CRITICAL LEGWORK YOU SHALL ONLY BE ABLE TO REGUGITATE THE IDEAS EXPRESSED BY SOMEONE ELSE. Thats called plagerism. I don't care how slick you are at changing words! The ideas remain the same.
You have done nothing....just like I thought...and you know little to nothing. How is that for answering questions. P.S....still no rebuttle for the double edged emotional thing! still no answer to if you have nas's cd.
p.s by the time I was 18 I SWER ON EVERYTHING...I was president of NAACP junior chapter, had successfully helped organize a demonstration as to why our school needed black history as an elective, BECAUSE OF THAT was asked and accepted an invitation from our supeintendant of schools to serve on a student advisor board for minority affairs, was active in mentoring at our community center(the same on I got a job at)helped with the campaign of our wards councilman, and was on our schools debate team! PLEEEEEZZZZ. you are so lame!!!! I was more qualified AT 18 to write a book than YOU are now. Again...you have done NOTHING significant up to this day....WHY?
staypoppin.....it's funny how he can say soooooo many people have missed the mark whn he hasnt even taken aim yet. Instead of RESPECTFULLY saying I will take what they have done...stand on their shoulders and grow he basically says their efforts amount to ***! All coming from a dude who admits he has done NOTHING significant OUTSIDE OF THE BOMB QUICK WEAVE!!!!....LOL
@ Antidumb
I run a successful home-based business, sometimes I have to close a deal or a conference call Dwindling post LOL !!!
All of your responses are weak you're not strong enough to defeat me.
I said Tupac was a brilliant brother he wasn't my leader. It's easy to point out the faults of a public figure because he's exposed to the public.
You're hypocritical, like you never had a fallen out with people like he did.
You went through my post and answerd my qustions. That weak response as to why white men are jealous? You responded with "our condition"
As if because they have money they can't be insecure LOL!!!
They are mad because they are bland , all they're kids act like us, they're women still love us even in "our condition"
Even though white men are the privilleged ones! The other responses were as weak as this one so I couldn't stop laughing to respond!
@ Antidumb
You keep giving massa what he wants, and he might let you sit at the table and eat with him one day!
I know that would make youe decade, he thought enough of you to sit down and eat with you.
Don't be surprised if he ask you to clear the table and wash the dishes though, because you know you have to stay in your place!
@ Antidumb
I read in sincere's post you said you don't do hood brother's that let's me know that you're a white man worshiper
That's cool with me, but know this the hood makes you strong and mixed with book knowledge that's like gunpowder!
These little nerdy white boys you worship will crumble at the first sign of loosing his money or privillege, he might even kill himself, he's weak.
You might look down on us, but he looks down on you!
Take care
Because he's weak
*** my stupid insomnia. I couldn't sleep so I decide to comeback and checkout this post and see folks are still at it.
@ Antidumb, I didn't bother reading all your posts because I don't honestly have the time or the patience to read through all of that madness (or deep thought as you like to call it) but what I want to know is why you feel the need to belittle people because they disagree with you. You keep accusing people of not thinking deeply simply because they don't think along the same lines as you do. You mentioned in an earlier post that you were young and it's showing now because most people with some life experience realize that there are very few absolute truths in this world and the rest is gray zone open for interpretation. This whole topic is one of those gray zones and for you to profess that you are the only one with valid or "deep thoughts" is a sign of immaturity and shallowness. Stop making yourself the self-appointed prophetess of MTO and open your mind. (Because right now, you must be working out of the George W. Bush book of "Only My Opinions" are right. You see the kind of mess that line of thinking has gotten our country and our troops into, yet you blunder ahead anyway.)
And on a related note, you keep saying be a visionary, but you're not doing that yourself. Visionaries aren't one dimensional. They have to look at a problem from all sides and angles before they address the situation. You simply look at your own perspective, assume it's the Gospel and run with it. You can't base things on your life experience. Because it's just that, your life experience and it's not necessarily representative the people you claim you want to help.
And I'm honestly curious who your target audience is for your book? Is it the social and politically conscious? If so, they've already got that message loud and clear and don't need a youngin' who's fighting the struggle half *** to explain it them. Is it for the "ghetto" folks you seem to abhor? If so, how do you think belittling them will help? So you come out with a book airing everyone's dirty laundry and telling them to change and *** the black community will experience a collective epiphany? I think not. Especially if your method of delivery resembles what you write here. (And I'm not even trashing your writing, but the means in which you go about delivering your message.) And will your book provide the people with a plan for change or will it just point fingers. Because black folks already know their sh!t stinks, what they need is a practical plan for change and then the desire to do it. How will you encourage this?
P.S. And you make mention of us needing to correct the current track we are on because of a pending attack on us by white Amerikkka. But guess what, we could all rise as an enlightened people and at the end of the day, hatred will still exist. You think white people are going to accept us when we stop cooning and we're all going to join hands and sing Kumbayah? That's not how it works. Hatred doesn't feed on logic. It feeds on fear. And at the end of the day, white folks fear us not because of our actions but because of our difference. They (and I use that loosely because not all white people fall into this category) have to control the world around us and even after all this time we haven't fallen in according to their model of living and it frightens them on a primal level. I agree that we need to get it together, but simply for the sake of rebuilding our own crumbling communities and not because of whitey looking over our shoulder. Because at the end of the day, you will never measure up in the eyes of white America. And that's not being self-defeatist, that's being real. Look at our history. We were a regal, majestic people and they still saw it fit to call us animals. We built the pyramids and gave them science and wisdom, but they tried to brainwash us into believing we were ignorant and lesser than them. No matter what we do, they will find a way to defame us. Not to mention, it's not like they are above reproach. You sit here and call black people out on their behavior because it makes us look bad in the eyes of the white and gives them power, but hell their daughters are being pimped out for t-*** on "Girls Gone Wild" DVD. One their pop icons is a girl with mental illness and poor parenting skills. In their communities, their daughters are learning all you have to do to be successful is become a dirty *** with a *** tape. Their leader is redneck good old boy with an known history of drug abuse and draft dodging. How are they in any position to judge? And why would anyone feel the need to live up to the white measuring stick when they themselves fall *** of the bar? You can do a song and dance till you are blue in the face. You can speak eloquently and knowledgeably. But at the end of the day, they will still think of you as a dirty ni@@er, not because that’s what you are, but simply because that’s what they need you to be. Regardless of our accomplishments, they will continue to box us into a corner because they need to feel superior. (I attribute to the fact that on some instinctual level, they realize they are the true minorities of the world and it frightens them. They know that if we amassed our power and banned together with our brothers and sisters across the globe, we could run the world. And they fear the retribution that would take place if such a thing were to happen.)
P.P.S It looks extremely bad when you responds to a person’s post with "oh, your post doesn't make any sense, spell check it" or "it was too long and I couldn't comprehend it". Everyone could take a red pen to your posts until they bled but that’s besides the point and has nothing to do with the topic at hand and doesn’t foster intelligent conversation. (Sorry, that's just a pet peeve. How the hell do you call people out on grammar when your own could use some work?)
See look, I can point out my own spelling mistakes. But the difference is I composed this at 4:00 in the morning with only a few hours sleep. I think that's some *** fine writing for someone who is groggy and in need of caffeine. (Oh and if you couldn't tell, the first half of my post was dishing out a little of what you served the last time I responded. Sound familiar? That's how you came at me and any other poster who disagreed with you. The art of debate isn't about rude barbs, so let's stick to the topic at hand and leave out the personal mudslinging. I'll play nice if you play nice.)
antidumb..... You finally sounded like you have some sense in your last post although I STRAIGHT hated to read itFor some reason you knocked all that self rightousness down a notch and kinda heard what you were saying.....a lil. I have to apologize because even though I DISAGREE ALOT with your approach I am no better if I continue to argue. It is still attacking a brother and as MUCH as I hate when people attack the element Im most familiar with so I *** attack you. Contrary to what you may think I didnt grow up in no projects, I came from a great fam and recieved my degree from college. So I am not anti middle class. I live in middle america and work with some of the most upity blacks you ever want to meet. My husband is a different type of dude but thats what i fell in love with. i see how strong he is and what he came from so i developed a love for what it is he does and a admiration for how he does it. So I see on a regular both angles. And trust me when I tell you EVERY APPROACH DON'T WORK IN EVERY SCENARIO! So again although I think you have ALOT to learn (as well as myself) at least like I stated earlier you have passion about your convictions......BUT if you run around half knowing what you are talking about but still foolishly trying to argue it IT WILL INVALIDATE YOUR WHOLE POINT! Don't do that to yourself. And don't do it to your people. Because you are right...If you really call yourself about to put yourself out there as a voice of reason within our community YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGHT WITH CRITICS! IN FRONT OF A MUCH LARGER AUDIENCE, WHO ARE 100X TOUGHER THAN I AM. I know what you are saying.I know we have some mental diseases in our community. BUT that battle is so deep it CANNOT be attacked at one level. Count yourself blessed that you are one of the found in the "lost generation". But baby you got to go back TO THE WILDERNESS to pull the others out. If thats what you want to do. Or else your messag will come off as a elitist perspective that just sounds like "im the beauty of our race....why can't you animals get it together?" We know we messed up! We to a degree know why we are messed up. BUT HOW DO WE CHANGE IT? And so much comes with that question! THAT IS THE QUESTION TO BE TACKLED! We don't need to waste so much time telling us what we already know! I see you are strong willed, best thing you are YOUNG so you got so much time and energy to do what you want, so I would suggest doing that RESEARCH you plan on doing to find some viable solutions. If you are this stubborn imagine if you put some base behind it. THERE IS POLICY AND LAWS IN PLACE THAT ARE KICKING THE INNER CITY'S ***! Keep thatsame stubborness when you get politicians who constantly tell you NO NO NO! Cause we need someone who wont back down.
P.S...aNTIDUMB.... I brought up you trackrecord not to get personal. I wasnt trying to find a way to jab at you. Your track record comes into play when you make remarks like "who is ignorant, who is a waste and not a leader, who lead who on the wrong path", about people although not perfect have contributed SOMETHING to this struggle we got. If you wern't so critical of others then others wouldn't be so critical of you. POLITICAL CAMPAIGN STRATEGY 101....a without a record CANNOT afford to attack a person with even a less than perfect record. Why?....because you cannot compare yourself with what you don't have. (Kerry went through this in the last presidential debate.) So never done to get at you "personally". Only done to prove a point! Again....with maturity you will learn not to throw stones unless you are CONFIDENT you can sheild the ones in return.
Antidumb... iSWEAR IM NOT ATTACKING. I just respectfully would like you to examine these two quotes you just made.
"We have just endured several incidents that indicate that due to our VILE CULTURE penetrating others, and finger pointing, Society is on the attack."
antidumb: as nicely as I can put it this is what will become clearer with more reasearch and life lessons. OUR vile culture?????? Penetrating OTHERS????? THIS IS WHY SOCIETY IS ATTACKING US??? Are you serious? You think this CULTURE is of black peoples construct? I am not going to get to far into it but son this is AMERICAN CULTURE! vIOLENCE IS THE AMERICAN WAY. *** money and drugs is the american way! We have fell victim to it the hardest but trust me these good lod crackas arn't just sick and sad with us negro's messing up their wholsome america so they scorn us! OMG! What is the difference between a gangsta in a suit killing up folks through policy and a gangsta in the street killing each other with guns? (we kill each other is the problem). What is the difference between robbing your neighbor or robbing enron? What is the difference between Karrine Steffans and Brittney Spears? OUR VILE CULTURE DIDN'T PENETRATE ***! Their vile culture has penetrated the world..including us. We have just taken it internalized it and are dying from it. Our history is our culture...not our present. This is their ***!
"We never think about our image, we consider that to be conforming to the White man, this despite the fact that we make up only 12% of the population. So unless there is some BLACK CITY somewhere, run operated, and owned by Black people just like every OTHER RACE, we are judged by our actions and that dictates HOW EASILY WE PROGRESS THROUGH SOCIETY."
Look up a city called BLACK WALL STREET! See what happened when we had a BLACK CITY, RAN BY BLACK PEOPLE, WHO HAD BLACK HOSPITALS SCHOOLS AND STORES. Millionaires! Civil, beautiful, successful, black people. Did SOCIETY allow them to progress and flourish. Did they welcom them as a economic partner and base of a flourishing economy? But you make it seem like if black folks would just get it toghether whity will leave us alone and welcome us with open arms! Yeah o.***......do that mean Im saying 'why try"....NO! We need another black wall street BAD. BUT stop thinking that this mess we are in is soley a matter of our own construct. Did you know that the reason why all these ARABs come over here and open up liquor stores is because they get tax breaks for doing so? If a Arab came and said 'I want to open up a salon, let me get a tax break"..it wouldnt happen. They are only given those breaks IF they open up "certain" business'. My collegue of mines father owns 4 of them. Am I making excuses...no! Im just saying this ish is by DESIGN! You need to recognize that. That will make you that much more capable in your fight. That way you recognize more than one enemy...cause there are a few! We may be our own worst but the skulls and bones are pulling a CLOSE SECOND!
@ Antidumb, I didn't see answers, I saw a tirade. You don't have to write a book in response to a question to get your point across. But you keep doing you and I'll keep doing me and we'll see who affects the most change at the end of the day. Good luck on your research. I hope during the course of it, you actually learn some things.
