Well I think the only reason Latifah hasn't came out yet is because she thinks that "White Hollywood" won't accept her. With as many people in Hollywood that date/marry everyone from their hair stylists to their managers, why do people think that this woman can't be her trainer AND her woman? I have seen many pics of these 2 together, describing them as a couple. Sorry to burst bubbles, but Queen Latifah is *** and so what? In addition to "Ladies First" and Set It Off, she did a "skit" on Mad TV a few years ago where she was sitting with a dude at a table and told him with a straight face that she is a *** and isn't interested in dating men. It's supposed to be a comedy show, but that seemed like the closest thing that she had ever done towards coming out. My boyfriend (I'm a woman) saw it with me and he thought the same thing - he also knew way before I did that La is ***. Also, her character in Chicago, Momma, is *** too. These are just roles and she is supposed to be acting, so you can write it off as that, but she also does straight roles and that is acting too. I think the fact that she has made a point to take on so many *** roles has been her subtle way of reaching out to her community without being direct. Queen Latifah has finally gone public about the rumors that have been spreading about her decision to announce that she’s engaged to rumored long-time girlfriend, Jeanette Jenkins.
For the past week, the word on the street has been that actress, singer and rapper Queen Latifah is about to come out of the closet. She’s also expected to announce her engagement to Jenkins. Bloggers and gossip columnists have been wringing their hands for weeks awaiting official word on the supposedly upcoming nuptials.
The New York Post’s Page Six gossip column was the first to make the suggestion, mentioning last week that a successful actress was planning on coming out of the closet-though the 37-year-old Latifah was not specifically mentioned.
The folks over at MediaTakeout.com went a step futher and said in an article that they had learned Latifah was planning to announce her engagement to her former personal trainer and girlfriend of four years after the promotional tour of her new film.
