: MediaTakeout.com is hearing rumors that music producer Pharrell isn't as hot as he once was. Word around the industry is that the producer, who once charged six-figures for each beat is now charging as little as $20,000.
Dang the music industry really isn't what it used to be. But real talk - we're waiting for the price to drop to about $100 so that we can have him make us a personal ringtone....

Every producer is only as hott as his last hit song. I'm surprised that he made it for this many years. Everyone has their time. The style of music P makes is not what's poppin right now. He may need to get with some "real" hip-hop artists and take things back to the old school. Get back to some head nod music. The grown fans of hip-hop can't take this bouncy, soldier boy bullsh*t for too much longer. I'm not a hater but I HATE the radio, Pherelle at least makes some real sh#t when can listen to like "What happened to that boy"? "Drop it like it's hott", and a few more, but yall dig me. 1
Okay he lowered his beats, how about because he is whack. All the way down to his music and waffle shoes. I never liked Pharrell don't get me wrong I like ppl who are different, but Missy has taken that spot. She is dope, he is not. Point Blank! I'm a big Pharrell fan, but I hope they're using this time away from the spotlight to rejuevenate their talents. Their beats were starting to sound the same.

Most industries aren't doing what they did as little as a year ago. Get out and vote in '08! It DOES make a difference.

MTO don't get it twisted, I saw him on TV with this ***.E.R.D. chain on. It looked like he had that sh*t plugged into a wall or something. Then he had on a diamond wonder woman bracelett with all kinds of colored jewels, in a white Phantom, talkin greasy about how most catz will never touch his level of paper. That's what Mr. Me Too was about.

I'm not a fan but I can't say Pharrell wasn't ***. For years it was the Neptunes(and Dre of course) shaping the industry sound and so much so that companies were selling Neptune sound sets for hundreds. It's easier to make your own beats these days beacuse everybody is using computers and the dirty south heavy bass sound ,So a producer is not as valuable to the average rapper. Plus the market is soft anyway and everbody is scaling down.
