...well that is his right..I suppose he is trying to make a statement of some sort....Hope the content is good...that last album was a miss!

STAYPOPPIN01

Can't wait to see the debate this starts nationwide!

lattho

Ok. People are still gonna buy it.

The Wire starts Jan. 6th!!

evl_z4y

Finally he made another statement in Hiphop besides illmatic!@!!

kyoung

Nas is a brilliant lyricist. Hopefully this album is deep and will break through and expand the consciousness of those who dont understand his reasoning. It's Polictical, It's Social, It's Life, and NAS gets it!

SupaDave101

This is cool. *** [EXPLETIVE] *** [EXPLETIVE] Non Immigrant Getting and Gaining Achievments

thefkcnqueen

the cover is nice if he wants to call his album the *** word then hey so be it

babybro_901

I CAN RESPECT HIM ON THIS!! HE HAS EARNED MY RESPECT!! HE IS ONE OF THE TRUE MC'S OF OUR TIME!!! AND WHY NOT SAY IT??? HELL....RACISTS SAY IT EVERYDAY!!! IM SURE HE HAS A VERY GOOD POINT TO MAKE WITH THIS!!!!

kl85

i disagree with this because we fought so hard when that white dude said the *** word and now its ok cuz a black dude decides to put in on his album cover white kids will be buying this S H I T!!! o please ppl get it together!!!!

poetical

This could be true. But think could we be mad when the persons of other races come to the music store & say Let me get that ***@%%a C.D. Hey thanks a lot Nas this should set us back what 35 Years. I'm sure if this is true Dr. King would be proud.

Globaldatepages.com It's Free

Pumpkin123

THERE'S A REASON WHY HE CHOOSE TO HAVE *** ON HIS ALBUM COVER...I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY?? I GUESS I WOULD HAVE TO BUY HIS CD AND LISTEN TO WHAT HE HAS TO SAY HUH??

AllaboutmeWill

Us saying it just makes it ok for every other race to say it....That is an extremely dumb idea....I don't care what his message will be, that was a STUPID and IGNORANT idea!....He had my respect but, he just lost it!

REDBONE37

Now how come they didn't make him change the name of his cd cover????????????????

sosincere

poetyical and kl85....ya'll must NOT listen to Nas at all. If Nas is naming his album this it is because he is going to ATTACK the word not big up it. He is super concious and political. Dont judge a book by it's cover...such an old cliche' but still so relevant. And why should we care as black folks if a non black asks for "Nas's ***"....and? You so focused on surface level ish that you miss the point. If non blacks do pick it up and listen to the CONTENT Im sure what they will take away from it is way more important than the initial shock of asking for it by mame. Black people got to use thier heads and STOP being so emotional and REACTIONARY over this *** word! So like you IM THANKING NAS TOO!

MOCCASIN1447

This is not going to do nothing but bring up the Imus situation again.

truebahamian

Nas is a lyrical genius, and a pretty intelligent person. I will support any album he releases. Whether it's mainstream or not. He is the truth.

(Even though he doesn't make Jay-z numbers-well his old numbers LOL- Nas always represents the average black person with his messages and inspirational songs.)

Long live REAL Hip-Hop, long live NASIR.

HalfBreed

Here comes Al *** and Jesse jackson!!!!!!!!!!!! get ready people.....

truebahamian

Don't let the man get you down Nas. Stay spittin' the truth. People are just too ignorant to hear the truth. White people have been using this as a form of power over us for too long. It's about time that our people use it as a weapon.

kinkyeyes

Ummmmmmmm...This is so crazy. But *** Nas, lets not be that ignorant.

kinkyeyes

Well I still wont by the CD....Nor listen to it

sosincere

and all these dumb *** so called "leaders" pulled off a HELLLUVA protest over this word when kramer said it. Yes black people....spend all of your time and energy attacking one racist white dudeover a flippin word. We got the spotlight of the world and we are protesting the WORD *** in 2008. Sure our public schools are f'd up. Yes incarceration rates and mandatory sentencing is some *** and got brothers doing 10 year bids on first non violent offenses, yes the socio economic condition in the inner cities is at a low to resemble the great depression... SUFFER IN SILENCE BOUT THAT BUT get MAD black people at the word ***! ....LOL White folks use that *** like kids on the play ground. You wanna *** them off...call them a ***! Momma always told me sticks and stones.....yall know the rest. Bigger fish to fry people. Like Nas said....he's trying to take power from the word. When we stop letting it effect us IT WILL STOP EFFECTING US!

bangers

lol. omg i thoought it was a joke when they broke the story a while ago Nas *** im am coming back to read what the americans think

sosincere

supadave.... Tupac said about 10 years ago ***-never i-ignorant g-getting g-goals a-accomplished I thought that was so hot in my younger years....lol.

bnww

Definitely a bad idea! No doubt about it.

KEEL

Great, reinforce that derogatory term for the white folks. Nas is mentally ill. Obviously he has some problems inside his head by the s*&t he's always talkin'. I WILL NOT BUY THIS ALBUM NOR ANY CD BY NAS THE CRAZY MAN.

brownsuga_delight

i can't wait to buy it!! i love me some nas!

bnww

Don't believe the hype about Tupac's version of the word. Had he been living today you know he wouldn't be all about that ignorance. For sure. He would have evolved to a higher essence.

sosincere

evl_z4y... STILLmatic was FIRE!!!! And he had some good conscious songs on Streets Deciple too. He got statement songs on just about every album he does.

sosincere

bnww....what are you talking about? You must not listen to TUPAC? ARE YOU SERIOUS. What was ignorant about the way he choose to use the word BACK THEN. He was trying to take power from that word even 10 years ago. If Pac was living now as super dope as he was and as conscois as he was he woulda grew from a boy to a man and BEEN ON A TRACK OR TWO WITH NAS ON THIS ALBUM! From now on if you don't listen to hip hop please refrain from making comments people!

the1nonlyr

The fact of the matter is, like sosincere said, Nas is going to make a full out onslaught on the word. His mission is to change your perspective on things. This is like people gettin mad when Boondocks made the episode about MLK using the word.

Ya'll need to wake up and see the bigger picture. Most of us (myself included) try to play this "holyer than thou" role and say don't use the word and all that when the fact is we all use it. Things like this are needed to help see the impact of the word on a larger scale. You using it at home is not ok, with your friends is not ok, refering to someone who may be acting like a *** is not ok.

Jews don't call each other ***.i.***.es, and no other race really uses the derogatory terms that were made up for them to describe each other. So start with yourself and stop using it, then go after Nas (who, by the way, is one of the greatest minds of our time).

sosincere

oh I checked out your lil website...much respect. BUT personally if I were going to devote THAT much energy TO ERRADICATING SOME FORM OF SOCIAL ILL ....especially with black folks....I would truely bring attention to bigger ***! Sorry just my opinion. AS LONG AS THERE ARE RACISTS THERE WILL ALWAYS BE RACIST SLURS.....***! Now you can continue to let what seriously amounts to a WORD affect you or you can move the hell on! I will call a cracka, a devil, and all kinda other stuff in a heartbeat if provoked. But I know I got racial hangups. But I gaurentee they won't be holding no marches about it! To busy making sure that thier kids are getting proper education!

dadigz

my *** nas lol.... jus hope no wiggers go into stores and ask the wrng *** for the *** album

Kesha615

special.....

Danigirl1222

LOVE IT! With all the attention on the word right now, we need one of our own to make a statement like this! WHEN THE JENA 6 DON'T EXIST, THATS WHEN I'LL STOP SAYING ***! AND ***!!!! LOL

DARKRED

IT'S OBVIOUS NAS NAMED THE CD THE "***" FOR A REASON.....BUY THE CD AND READ THE LYRICS TO HIS SONGS.......REMEMBER "FREEDOM OF SPEECH"..WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN THE GOVERNMENT MAKES YOU *** THE FCUK -UP???????

mygudness

That word has no power anymore. I do however care about things that are more important like BLACK on BLACK crime. The judical system, blacks being kept out of business & job opportunities, police curuption againt blacks. You know things the REALLY MATTER! Not some silly as word.

The_Shoparazzi

Good idea. Wake up people!

1MoreThing

I am not going to spend one DIME of my hard earned money on this ***.

It has to stop here.

Can any one feel me on this?

eLSoFocused

I respect Nas. Its his product and his vision and everyone is entitled to an opinion but no one has the right to judge him. If it doesnt sell then he has no one to blame but himself. That title alone may deter alot of prospective consumers but hopefully he knows what he is doing...Good Luck my ***!GGA!!! LOL (really not funny...)

whatwhatwhat

Someone slap some sense into this fool. WE ARE THE ONLY RACE in the world that demeans itself in such a manner.

This is shameful, disrespectful, and foolhardy. Just to sell some records. And you know what. It ain't gonna sell sh!t cuz he's a horrible rapper. None of his sh!t has sold and he has to lean on this gimmick to get some attention. He is the BLACK KKK member.

MLK is rolling in his grave right now. Hell I bet 10% of the people on here don't even know what the initials MLK stand for.

debebelle

I agree with AllaboutmeWill. He could have called it the "MISEDUCATION OF THE NEGRO", but I bet most of you guys don't know about that (read a book, its by Carter G Woodson) Granted, I use the word, but in the privacy of my own home when I'm chillaxin with my boo, talkin reckless....whether he attack the word or not, it's still not OKAY!!!

GuessAgain

I'm not sure if he's doing this on a personal level or a Hollywood level... just to get album sales

qt_pie

Im hope there is some type of message in this album. Im sure there is he is very deep and the sad part is alot of these younger idiots are not going to get the message. Nas is a true artist who is donw for his poeple so I will buy his CD! Much love to Mr Jones and his wife!!

DirtyStarr

Ummm...Im not sure how I feel about this.

On one hand I guess he's trying to make some sort of statement by using the word. Maybe to show ownership over the use and meaning of the word as a black man...

On the other hand, I'm not sure if the use of the word is a good idea. Again, it promotes the idea that it is okay to use the word. Are we going to get in a great debate when a white person goes to buy the cd and asks for the "***" cd?

We're supposed to be offended when George Lopez supposedly refers to us by that term but then support Nas for using it to title his album. I just dont know anymore. The term is bad no matter who says it. I cant understand why we as a race insist on using it. You dont see white people saying" Yo, what up my [EXPLETIVE]" or Hispanics saying "That's my spic" when talking about each other.

I just dont know....if someone would call my grandfather the "***" word he would cut them. LOL What happened to that mentality?

juni0rbr0wn

Whateva ya'll have to say... sit on it!!!! I could care less what the album title is... Nas always delivers a great album... Show support instead of bumping your gums about a title...

Hold it down ESCO... i'll support the record sales..

ueB_baby

I stopped buying Nas' albums since ...I am. But i support the message behind the title. We cannot let this word control us. But outsiders should be weary of usage of this term....Might get your teeth knocked in:)

travieboo7

HE IS SUCH A DUMB ***

bootyfulgirl

OH WOW...THIS IS REALLY GONNA GIVE OTHERS THE EXCUSE TO USE THE *** WORD FOR REAL....

THIS IS GONE BE INTERESTING!!

sosincere

debebelle..... I actually TEACH on Mis education of the Negro so I know it VERY well. BUT WHAT THE F DOES WOODSON'S ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL PLATFORM HAVE TO DO WITH WHAT NAS IS ATTACKING? Woodson wrote his book as a wake up call to academia. Nas is not gearing his album to academia. He said he is talking to brothers in the streets trying to bring closure to racist ***? So I think for the statement he is trying to make he is very CAPABLE of dicerning how to get the message accross. You not dealing with no dummy. Mis Education of the Negro wouldn't have even made sense....lol. Geez! Besides Lauren got that title on lock. Don't reinvent the wheel!

Agent106

I hope Nas is ready for what's comming at him. I like Nas though. One of the illest to ever do it. if any other rapper tried this i'd be worried but I feel Nas has the intelligence to pull this off. i think some of you guys need to look at the deeper meaning behind the statement he is trying to make before judging.

cyre

i'll cop it.... every1 is so quick to judge b4 they hear the content.... so who's really setting us back??? hmm...

sosincere

what what what....... kill the motor!!!! please! I know people type LOL but you REALLY made me laugh out loud! I won't even start with you cause it's OBVIOUS you don't listen to Nas....black kkk?????....lol. OMG. tHE COMPLETELY comercial "I know I can" should let you know what you are saying is silly.

Again all those who do NOT listen to hip hop or at least the person in question PLEASE refrain from making comments about what you don't know!

cyre....I FEEL YOU! sILLY *** OVER EMOTIONAL, NO THINKING, NON PRAGMATIC, CRABS IN A BARREL, SLAVE MENTALITY HAVING NEGRO SPIRITUAL BLACK FOLKS is what sets us back. We will never progress as long as we place emotion before logic and reason. And you CANNOT logically argue a point without first having examined what is in question. At the very least as to make an informed justification to support your stance. Some credibility. SOME FACTS. Not feeling. I.E HOW YA'LL GO KNOCK DA *** BEFORE YOU EVEN HEAR IT!

eve0513

NO ONE IS GOING TO RESPECT US IF WE DO NOT RESPECT OURSELVES FIRST.

xugarbush-nyc

HE MUST REALLY NEED THOSE ALBUM SALES I GUESS,THAT OR THE LYRICS ARE HIGHLY POLITICAL!!

SEVENTEENMODEL

***

Ms_Afghanistan2008

In my country he would be stoned for such profanity.

Jah-N-me

While I am a big Nas fan (Queens born & raised), I must disagree with his idea of naming his Album 'The *** Word'. It is perpetuating an disgusting trend that has long been out of control. Forgive my ignorance, but I do not understand the point or the message in this. There are forums set up for us to express ourselves but blantantly putting this word on shelves for all to see (children, whites, blacks) to me, sends the message of "here's what I think I am...a n*ggger".

We've fought our lives, (and still fighting) to have this stigma removed, and Nas wants to capitalize off of it??? Are you kidding me?? If you are proud to be called a n*gger... then so be it, that's your warped self image, but I refuse to allow this word to be a description of my being. The anger and derogatory overtone that it holds is scary and sickening. When I hear it I cringe, regardless of who is saying it! I cannot and will not support this movement and will keep my money on this one.

Just my humble opinion. Take from it what you will.

aurevoir

The publicity this will generate will guarantee Nas will go platinum, publicity is publicity. He knows how to manipulate the media to make his money.

Honey486

Nas is a has been rapper that is trying really hard to sell records. Thats the only reason he is naming his cd that. Even though he can rap he cant sell records. He's trying really hard to stay in the game. I wont buy his cd. I dont like when people use that word and I wont support that album. It is just ignorant to use that word to try and get attention for a cd. What if Eminim used that word for the name of his cd, people would be boycotting in the streets. So why is it okay for Nas.

Nubian_Huntress

The funny thing is that a lot of the people who are outraged by Nas' album title are probably the same people who:

*also use it in everyday conversation *laugh their *** off at Dave Chapelle, Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy and countless of other comedians who use the word *buy profane albums by rap artists who use the word at random without message or meaning

If we hate the word so *** much, why do we condone the continued use of it amongst black people? So it's wrong when white folks use it but it's okay when Shakeesha down the block says it? Does that make any sense? And then folks going around getting upset like Nas is giving white people permission to say the word when we did that years ago by making it an accepted practice in the black community. We did it when it became so prolific in our everyday conversation that the signifigance of the word lost all meaning. Nas has nothing to do with the recent outbreak of non-black celebrities using the word. We use the word as a term of endearment and then wonder why the world goes around saying it at random.

Not to mention, why precisely are we still getting our panties in a bunch because of one word? The previous generation wasn't fighting a word, they were fighting an institutionalized system. Segregation was the issue at hand, not the ***-word. They were fighting for equal rights. It's funny how we can protest in the streets over a simple word, but no one bats an eye over the fact that our children still receive sub-par educations in the nation's school system. No Child Left Behind cuts funding for disadvantaged schools under the guise of cracking down on poorly performing institutions (a high number of which are schools that serve minority communities) and folks sit back quietly. The government cuts funding to the free healthcare program that provides medical access to poor children and we don't say ***. Access to affordable housing for working class families is almost non-existant in many areas and the government doesn't say boo, and we just sit on our hands. But George Lopez says the ***-word and we take to the streets. Seems to me we should be devoting our time and energy focusing on the real issues at hand.

aurevoir

Nas is also a lyrical genius. I have faith in him.

SthrnMsCiara

LMFAO Im sorry but ODDLY seeing that my initial reaction was to laugh......I haven't come pass that yet lmao When I do I'll post another comment lol

KCski

Sosincere you are on POINT! I have always been a NAS lover!!! I am certain he is going to rip that word to shreds and give you something for the brain. Trust and believe Nas is far from a regular MC. He is a lyrical powerhouse and the message he will send will rock your socks off. Let's not get it twisted I hate the use of the word, however, Nas will put it into perspective for those that don't understand.

pynkchynadoll

I agree with you kyoung! I love Nas and respect his decisions with an open mind (It is his right)! ... and within his rights he already stated to the public, media, and his fans why he choose to name his album that title! ... Do the research!*

spraggaswifey

@sosincere---I'm RIDING WITH YOU ALL THE WAY ON THIS....in actually there are only 3 knowledgable spitter's who can even touch this subject and turn haters into believer's and 1 of them is NAS....all of the violance, cussin and ni**ah calling that these young heads do in their wack bars these days is what is setting us back..not NAS or his cd COVER...trust me let NAS breath and he will blow fiyah at ya'll that'll make you think...people sleep on NAS just like they did when Jay z did "TAKEOVER"....no body thought NAS would come hard body like he did with "ETHER"....not even Jay z..i'm a Jay z fan and I was even shocked....well all of the hatas BE PREPARED....NAS IS ABOUT 2 *** STUFF DOWN!!!!!..@babybro_901---100....TRUST AND BELIEVE NAS KNOWS EXACTLY HOW TO SET THIS GAME UP...and he's GONNA WIN....

chigurl

NAS is no dummy. Iam sure he has read the book by Randall Kennedy, "***", The Strange Career of a Troublesome Word. It's an excellent read. Anyone, who is interested in the history of the word ***, go get this book.

Money007

for all of you dummies out there saying how he disrespecting us and blah blah blah. come on if you knew your hip hop like you say you do then you would know Nas is a "Conscience" rapper he's not a snap yo fingers or crank that soulja boy rapper he has a message with every CD he drops so do you really think he is really going to do something to distroy a race that he is a part of? For all of you ignorant folks like Kinkyeyes and whatwhatwhat do your history on hip hop and artist before you speak. Go back to Illmatic, Stillmatic, etc... the list goes on and on and Hip Hop is Dead was slept on he was right hip hop is dead all you got to do now is have a catchy beat and go triple platinum or crank that and sell millions hip hip is dead because we only have a few "conscience" rappers andthe rest snap they *** fingers!!!!! Do your homework and then speak! **********Big Zo All Day Baby I'm Waiting on U**

lani3000

NAS is an extrenmely smart fellow. He thinks before he speaks and I have the utmost confidence that he is sspeaking about this word on some other level. Not strictly using it for face value.

I dont think he is that dumb or uninformed to use such a word only for shock and superficial value. I am looking forward to his next offering

chigurl

The name of the book is "N_GG_R" by Randall Kennedy. MTO took the *** word out of my comment. This book really breaks down the word way back to its African roots. Please read.

Sosincere are you a schollt teacher?

spraggaswifey

@Honey486---what's wrong with you?..i don't like 2 post 2x but dang do you even kno anything about Nas??..he has never been trying to "sell records"...why do you think Nas is 1 of the only true lyricists who gets respect from almost every mc?...he gets the respect he deserves because he earned it...most of his work is classic...he does not need attention because he's NAS and his name alone gets attention so knock it off..and asking if m&m used this title what would people say...WHAT????..i'm not even going to go there because this is 2 deep of a debate 2 be going ova on MTO...please go put in your weezy cd and listen 2 that trash with the rest of the little kids....1 LUV 2 NAS...and he's not trying to stay in the game he neva really left....

chigurl

I meant to say school teacher.

ImSoGay

Nas is one Sexy "***/igger!"

brownsuga_delight

claps!! go head Nubian_Huntress!!

KEEL

NAS IS USING THIS TO CREATE LOTS OF CONTROVERSY SO HE CAN SELL RECORDS. HE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A GREEDY SOB WHO WANTS THE PUBLICITY AND SAD FACT HE IS GETTING IT.

KEEL

I REFUSE TO PURCHASE ANYTHING WITH NAS ON IT.

quarterhorse

i really cant believe how stupid many of the people on here are. most of you are the real ***-ers. i call you that because you comment on the name of the cd as setting us back and a publicity stunt, but you are very ignorant to the real facts in the world. like violence, drugs and socio-economic slavery we all live in. if you even paid half-*** attention to the cover you would see its not called *** but the real word...no cute little acronyms. if you have never purchased a nas album or think lil wayne or soulja boy is cool to buy, you should put your lil hands in your pockets and dont post anything else. stop being emotional and use your brain to think on a higher level and stop being ignorant ***-ers.

lala_buddy

I feel like its going to set us back. Nas is very intelligent I just think he really needs to think this one through.

queenpee

oh well.....a *** wrote it

bellah

some of yall some dumb as.ses fah real. So you mean to tell me that a demeaning, debasing word is fine to be used by the same race its disgracing? you wanna give this dude the coupe de gras for having it splattered all over his album cover and yet if a different race uses the same exact word, its an issue? yall dumb for real. as far as setting us back, its being done everyday when i turn to any african american television network, which is why i choose not to watch BET's lame as.s. I'd rather watch MTV!! at least i'm not subjected to my brothas and sistahs being called niccas and ho.es...and yall wonder why our communities are sooo behind. And yet you're quick to blame the white man for your idiocy. Nas you're a dumb as.s - yeah I said it! he gets no props from me!! yeah now lemme see how some of yall bury me...SMH...

bkyouth

I personally love the cover...reminds me of the novel ***/IGGER by *** Gregory...it was a classic selling 10 million copies worlwide and that was in 1998 when i last checked...i will say that regardless of what we think lets not be judgemental until we hear the content of whats in the album, he may have a lot to say...black folks have been through a lot since his last album (jena6,FEMA falling ***, increase in the AIDS epidemic etc...) and maybe he wants to adress a few issues that other entertainers chose to turn the other cheek on...so let Nas do his thing...he has never been a dumb brother...

MrCBR1000

Do You NAS! Im copping it as soon as.

chi_qt

Thank you Nas for not dumbing down for doe like most of these real sell outs do. Most of the people on here that object to this don't understand REAL HIP-HOP.. and wouldn't be happy unless u were bouncin on your toes.. and supasoakin a hoe.. ***/iggers.

chigurl

@RAWBREED, Don't take this wrong. A true artist will do things because they have love for their craft. NAS has love for his music. Do you really think that NAS is concerned about whether or not target, best by aor walmart, etc will sell his cd. Come on now. Those that want to buy will and those that don't want to buy won't. NAS is not a one hit wonder like many of these artist today. There is more to the world than booty, weed and ***.

I still got luv for you though.

Atlfasho

Everyone talking about they are "not going to support" and he is "setting us back" are just plain wrong! First of all this is art. Music is art! Now if this was Young jeezy or someone then i would see ur argument, but its not! *** Gregory wrote a book with the title *** R! Why cant nas title his album wat u wants its his music!

whatwhatwhat

@Money0007

If his CD's aren't on my shelf then they're not successful. Yeah, I tried to listen to his albums. And they're just not good. If they were they would get airplay ala Jay-Z or Diddy's old stuff. Hell, even Digital Underground still get played on the radio.

@lani3000

To use the word just to show he's speaking on a deeper level is just plain silly. Because the word itself has a deeper meaning that many in this generation don't get. There is NOTHING Nas can add to give the word deeper meaning than what white folks and the black people who died for it has already given. Don't try to excuse his ignorance.

chi_qt

whatwhatwhat

When you start comparing Nas to Digital Underground or even Diddy... You really show your ignorance about the culture of hip-hop... And if you listen to Jay-Z.. he even states he dumbs down for his audience to sell records.. This is the album the artists you mentioned wished they had the *** and lyrical genius to put out...Please stop.

paperboy64

this dude iz crazy....i can't wait to here the album tho ***

chigurl

@whatwhatwhat

What the *** are you talking about? No disrespect, but come on. Some artist sell for air time. As a result, we have tons of *** played over the airwaves that is not even worth listening to. Why do you think talk radio ratings is catching up with the hot music radio stations? the reason being is that some of the younger generation is now listening to talk radio because the *** on the music stations is played out!

If you can try to listen to WVON 1690 AM in Chicago. This station really educates the Black community on current topics happening i the world that affect the Black community.

stymelove

What is the big deal isn't Nas a N**GGA.... The word N**GGer means Black in spanish. So all he is saying is that he is black in spanish.

StopHatin1st

SOME OF YOU PEOPLE ARE SILLY AND AS IGNORANT AS THE WORD MEANS. NAS HAS TOTALLY DISRESPECTED THE ENTIRE BLACK RACE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO FOUGHT SO HARD AND TOOK BEATENS AND HANGINGS WHILE BEING CALLED A N*****.

IT PURELY AMAZES ME HOW SOME OF OUR PEOPLE THINK. WE HAVE BEEN TOTALLY BRAINWASHED AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE CORRUPT AND UN-UNITED AS A RACE.

GROW UP. LEARN MORE. SURE, NAS IS A GREAT LYRICISTS, BUT HOW STUPID CAN U BE TO STOOP THIS LOW.

SexyJylah

YES NAS...DO THAT ***...THAT'S OUR WORD PEOPLE LOST LIVES FOR THE WORD...NOW WUT THEY'RE GOING TO CALL US TO GET UNDER OUR SKIN...

rockyhatesyou

WOW!!!!!!

debebelle

sosincere....

"When you control a man's thinking you do not have to worry about his actions. You do not have to tell him not to stand here or go yonder. He will find his "proper place" and will stay in it. You do not need to send him to the back door. He will go without being told. In fact, if there is no back door, he will cut one for his special benefit. His questions of education makes it necessary."

WHAT I INTERPRET FROM MR. WOODSON IS THAT THE IDEAL OF INFERIORITY (***-WORD) HAS BECOME A PERMANENT RESIDENT, ACCEPTING OF DISCRIMINATION TO THE POINT WHERE IT SEEMS NATURAL.

It is 'the root of this evil' that has contributed to the immense struggle that many Americans face, as it undermines the attempts to defeat the stereotypes and broad generalizations that have been made against Africans. This word, that has killed so many is the very thing that keeps us down, HENCE MY REASON FOR SUGGESTING THE ALBUM "THE MISEDUCATION OF THE NEGRO"

So "LOL" on that AND REINVENT YOURSELF! LOL...

whatwhatwhat

@chi_qt "whatwhatwhat When you start comparing Nas to Digital Underground or even Diddy... You really show your ignorance about the culture of hip-hop..."

@chigurl "Some artist sell for air time. As a result, we have tons of *** played over the airwaves that is not even worth listening to."

I'm sorry, you're right. I didn't explain myself clearly. It's stupid to compare Nas to Digital Underground and music these days do suck. Big time.

BUT

Nas isn't that successful. He's not a great lyricist. And I argue that the only reason Nas is still relevant today is because he's big in New York. Or should I say he's riding the success of his early career, which was big in New York but hardly registered around the country.

And to all the people who say that because I'm not a hip hop enthusiast then I just don't get why he's naming the album Ni99ger. Well I think 90% of the country aren't hip hop enthusiasts and when they see this on the shelves of their local record stores they're going to think one of two things...

"Them *** really are as dumb as they look"

or

"Them *** really are self destructive"

And from the support he's receiving on this blog. I'd have to agree.

There is nothing positive about this ablum title. At all.

StopHatin1st

@STYMELOVE.. .Correct.. The Spanish word for black is Negro (masculine) or Negra(feminine).. Not N***** Get ya *** together

Yes NAS is a heck of a lyricist but him albums haven't been selling lately. Now he has to stoop to the lowest level possible to sell a few cds. And at what cost?! If he wants to attack the word then attack it in your record not on the cover. That word (even when used in it's free-flowing new form *** I G G A) is the most reviled word in the U.S.A. He's just given much fodder for the KKK and white supreme groups!!! So as poetical said earlier: don't get mad when white people are in the stores asking where's the ***.I.G.G.E.R album. Because no black person now has the right to get offended when NAS has already given people of other races permission to use that word in certain context!!!

StopHatin1st

@STYMELOVE.. .INCorrect.. The Spanish word for black is Negro (masculine) or Negra(feminine).. Not N***** Get ya *** together

**CLASSIC, CLASSIC, CLASSIC ALBUM COVER!!!**

If Young Jeezy did this album title, I'd take offense because Jeezy actually is an ignorant ***!gga. . .Nasir Jones is gonna make a classic album and enlighten both black and white on the terminology of the most hateful word in the english language.

You CAN NOT fairly judge this if you don't listen to his music so think twice.

HIP-HOP NEEDS YOU NAS!!!!!!!! You're our only hope.

**note how he's shown well dressed, peaceful, and shows intellect. . .he's still a what???**

debebelle

BY THE WAY, FOR PEOPLE ADDRESSING THOSE WHO CONDONE IT, I DO! BUT ONLY IN MY HOME....IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY, MY FAMILY HAS BEEN SAYING IT SINCE COTTON-PICKING DAYS BUT I DON'T RUN AROUND THE STREETS LIKE AN *** FOOL CALLING EVERY BLACK PERSON "***"! THERE IS A COMFORT ZONE THAT WE, AS BLACK PEOPLE, SEEM TO BE MISSING, WE EMBRACE THE WORD AND WEAR IT ON OUR SLEEVES, *** & HOLLERIN, WHY WOULDN'T PEOPLE THINK ITS OKAY, NOWADAYS?

I'M PRETTY SURE WHITE PEOPLE HAVE CALLED SOME OF THEIR OWN, "WHITE TRASH" WHEN THEIR AT HOME OR IN A PRIVATE DISPUTE, BUT YOU DON'T HEAR THEM SAYING "HEY WHITE TRASH; WHATUP WHITE TRASH; CHILLIN, MY WHITE TRASH" ON DA STREETS...LETS BE SERIOUS. NO, YOU CAN'T STOP IT, BUT THERE IS A TIME AND PLACE FOR EVERYTHING!

chigurl

@WHATWHATWHAT I do not really think that NAS cares what everybody thinks. Those that want to buy will and those that don't want to buy won't.

People can say N_GG_R all day long, I don't care. However, when they try to stop me from obtaining an education, getting a job that I am qualified for, denying our Black children a proper education so that they can compete with other races and have a fair chance that is when I get heated.

I am done on this topic. Iam taking my teenage cousins to go see "The Great Debate."

Happy New Year All!!!!!!

chi_qt

@whatwhatwhat @caramelprinze White people don't need Nas' permission to use the *** word... Don't let them use that excuse. "Hip Hop made me call those girls nappy headed hoes.." LOL. What a bunch of b.s. U all are falling for the okey doke.. Nas' body of work speaks for itself and real heads understand his contribution to the game. And if anything, the album title will cost him record sales... not earn them. As a people we don't open our minds to see the bigger picture...We act so much off of emotion and not rationale. *** Gregory was one of the largest social activists for the African-American community and came out with a best seller titled ***/igger...

Honey486

To Spraggaswifey, first I dont listen to lil wayne he sucks and he's ***. Second if you would stop ridin Nas's *** like a little B*i*t*c*h and go out and buy Nas's cds then maybe he wouldn't have to stoop to this level to get attention to sell cds. You're ignorant to think that this isn't a way for him to promote his cd because it is.

foxyloxy2000

i thought someon wrote a book with the same title...

WHAT A BUNCH OF BYTCH @SS "NYGGAS" IN HERE !!!

IGNORANT AS HELL !!!!!

YOU SAME MF'S TALKIN THIS *** ARE THE SAME ONES THAT ALLOW OUR CULTURE AND IMAGE BE DISTOTRED AND CONTROLLED BY UPLIFTING AND PRAISING THE WORST THAT BLACK PEOPLE HAVE TO OFFER......

THEN TURN AROUND AND BE MAD AT THIS MAN FOR MAKING A "BONE *** POLITICAL STATEMENT" BECAUSE YOUR SCARY @SS IS AFRAID OF THE POWER OF A WORD ??????

MORONS !!!

HOW THE HELL CAN YOU IDIOTS ALLOW A WORD TO HAVE SO MUCH POWER OVER YOU THAT YOU ARE AFRAID TO EVEN SAY IT !!!

WHEN YOU FEAR SOMETHING, YOU GIVE IT POWER IDIOTS !!!!!

ALL OF YOU WHO PROMOTE THE FEAR AND OSTRAZATION OF THE WORD NYGG.AR FROM THE AMERICAN LEXICON ARE THE ONES WHO ARE GIVING IT THE POWER TO CAUSE PAIN AND FEAR AMONGST PEOPLE.

SUPPORT FOR THIS ALBUM IS NOT SUPPORT FOR THE WORD NYGG.AR

You just don't get it. When you allow people, even black folks, to use the word *** it directly leads to the bigger problem of you being denied a job or an education or having to fight to keep affirmative action alive. There is no way to use the word without the results of it. Which is discrimination.

@chi_qt

Yeah, and *** Gregory was wrong. He's one of the persons people point to as an excuse to use it.

Using that word is a direct link to our past. It shows we don't respect ourselves, our ancestors, our history. It does show we don't give a f*ck about anything and are just selfish. lol

It's like waking up every morning, putting a gun to your head, pulling the trigger and then b!tching about the after effects.

Great Album cover!!! and those who are saying he is using this as a mechanism to sell records are the IGNORANT ones!! nas never cared bout selling or having a plat album.. if he did he would have kwit after illmatic.. @whatwhatwhat.. NAS doesnt have radio friendly songs like The humpty dance.. And MO MONEY MORE PROBLEMS.. he doesnt dance around like puff *** recite repulsive adlibs that caters to the commercial crowd.. he has better messages that radio isnt ready for... HELL HALF OFF THE PPL ON HERE R NOT READY!!! im sure his pride is really hurt by those who r not buying da record... hence sarcasm..... try gaining sun respect b4 stripping it from sum wun u dont know or understand..... MESSAGE!

chigurl

@WHATWHATWHAT

I am listening to what you are saying, but can we agree to disagree. If I walk around all day trying to put ALL my efforts into stopping the use of the *** word, I would be spent all day long. I put my efforts into other things that help me and others. As I said before they can say the *** word all day long and I am going to keep expanding my knowledge. Remember, knowledge is power. If you think that Black people are going to be set back from getting the things they need to survive in this word because someone is callin us the *** word, what are YOU thingking?

Black people are going to be kept back if we keep trying to emulate the entertainment industry. Once we understand that education is TRULY important then we have a chance at improving our race and our lives.

Right now some of the young generation has topics on their minds like how many hoes they got, how much money they spent at the strip club, what type of car they have, etc., etc.

So hell no you can say the *** word all you want.

Meanwhile, I am obtaining my law degree. Oh yeah this is after I have completed my residency in Internal Medicine. Yeah, many physicians obtain law degrees so that they can learn the business side of medicine and run a solo practice.

stymelove

@ stop hatin...... if you would open a Book and read the word Negro does mean Black in spanish. so does N*gger idiot. do some research stop hatin. the word N*gger comes from the Latin, which means Black. why don't you open up your Bible as well @Stop Hatin it tells you that the diciples were called *** because of there pigmentation. I don't know why Black people are offended with the word when you call yourselves Black everyday. Negro, N*gger, Negra is just a translation...... If you are truly offended then stop calling yourself Black people and Find out your true nationality instead of changing it every 10-20 years. N*gger......This message is directed at Stop Hatin and the rest of you N*ggers out there who considers themselves Black.. Black is a color not a Nationality. There are no such people out there as being Black. People come from the earth, which is different shades of Brown not Black. STOP CALLING YOUR SELVES BLACK AND GET SOME KNOWLEDGE IN YOUR HEAD....N*GGERS

Ok we are on the same page. You know ur artist and the history behind the music. I like that i ya. But, I still had to check you about Ol boy lusting after Ol girl and he has a wife.

Ok, everyone have a Happy New Year!!!

If some of you are interested in debating this subject in a social face to face setting without coming across as a miseducated Negro read the book titled "N_gg_r by Randall Kennedy.

HE JUST WANTS SUM TTENTION.. BUT I STILL LUV ME SOME NAS THOUGH...

sosincere

debebelle...... O.*** 1ST I don't even need to WASTE my time responding to you because I don't deal well with HYPOCRACY. You go sit and JUDGE Nas and say some shy like it's demeaning but ADMIT that YOU USE THE *** IN YOUR OWN F'*** VOCAB.....get the f' outta here? 2. Don't pull one flippn quote and think you a scholar. Yes that was a quote BUT THE BOOK IN IT'S ENTIRETY HAS TO DO WIT THE SOCIO ECONOMIC DISPARITIES OF BLACKS. THE EDUCATIONAL DISPARITIES AND ABANDONMENT OF VOCATIONAL TRADES FOR ACADEMIA...hence your quote. Woodson believed that the schools were actually INDOCTRINATING people and not EDUCATING THEM. hENCE WE WILL ALWAYS FOLLOW SUIT DUE TO OUR EDUCATION. Its true that that ONE quote can be made to parralell soooooo many vices in our community but WE TALKING ABOUT A SYNOPSIS OF THE WHOLE *** BOOK! And Im sorry sweetie but the BOOK don't fit his message! WHICH WAS THE POINT. f' ONE LIL VERSE...which is probably the most commercial verse in the whole book. But Im glad you know something though. So don't f' with me on no intellectual ***. I speak broken english and I curse but best believe "WE WEAR THE MASK" and I can take this *** off and spit fire when need be! You just pick a side...stick to it and leave me be. next........

STAYPOPPIN01

@ whatwhatwhat

I strongly disagree with you, hip hop is the biggest selling genre of music, so your 90% of the country aren't hip hop enthusiast is wrong.

In fact whites buy 92% of rap music.

@ chigirl

You have the right idea as far as becoming independent of white folks by starting your own practice. Because this album has nothing to do whether white folks will continue to stunt your growth in the work place!

chigurl

@sosincere

I am glad to know that there are people in our race, Black people, African Americans, etc., that actually READ.

I like your style.

chigurl

@STAYPOPPIN01, LOL

sosincere

chigurl... No I am not a teacher in the traditional sense. I work at a community center and work with teens and we kick it on stuff like this often. I try to introduce them to stuff they are not gonna get in school. But I think I am about to go back to school and get certified to teach in public school. But they tie your hands behind your back. You have to teach to the curriculum which is *** *** and even more so now that Bush and his cromies have scared the *** outta public school administrators with threatened cuts in funding due to poor test scores, the teachers mostly TEACH STRICTLY FOR THE TEST. No REAL education. Just indoctrination. Like debebelle brought up.

STAYPOPPIN01

I meant to say it has nothing to do with weather white folks will continue to stop your growth in the work place.

Whites will always find a reason to discrimnate on us because we are competition for them as far as jobs, ***, money etc.

They will forever hold you back where they can so their offspring can always live well.

chigurl

@sosincere

I encourage you to get ur teaching certificate. But, I commend you on working at the community center working with teens. If they are not receiving the information in school at least they can be introduced to these issues at a teen center. Keep it going and much love to you for reaching out to the teens. You will receive it back ten fold. I am very familiar with the curriculum that teachers have to follow my husband is a Chicago public high school teacher.

Have a Happy New Year!!

dsgb

nas is not even close to the level tupac was on as far as rap or fighting against oppression pac rode on that fool.nas has used the *** word and black struggle for years for finacial gain like other artist.so he *** act hollier than thou, and further more he is a participant in the illuminati just like jay z and kanye.illuminati meaning enlightened ones.these are the prominent and powerful people that truly run this country and society, like david rockefeller.they want one world rule, and death and destruction by any means.

sosincere

debebelle...... the school system is not teaching us how to take care of our communites, how to get crack out the hood, how to establish black owned businesses (that thrived before the abandonment of vocational trades,) how to handle our health care disparities, how to manage money, how to deal with black psycological issues. They just teach us they ***. We got issues much more complex than how we are being taught. We are taught how to build up thier ***. Not our own. So Im all for education but if education aint liberating they can keep it........

Thats DEAD PREZ.........who also read Woodson. Who pretty much summed up the point you missed.

shawn

If it wasn't for the city of New York and probably New Jersey this lame *** ***- wouldn't had sold 20 cd's (smile) I haven't never went to a club in Georgia and heard his sh-t Ha!Ha! Him and JZ is lucky as hell to have support from the North cause they *** would be dirt poor if it was up to the south to listen to that lame *** sh-t Ha!Ha! (I'm Out)

sosincere

chigurl..... thanks.....alot. I am really being encouraged lately. Eveerything is confirmation that I have to step my game up.....big time. I used to do alot more with kids than what I do now because I went back to school. These conversations make me miss them sooooooo much. But my husband still works with them ON A REGULAR! We got soooooo much work to do in the community. And it starts really in the mind...then in the pockets! Knowledge and economics! But I am just happy that some of these lil 14 and 15 year olds grasp *** better than alot of these adults. So if Nas can reach them....Im cool. It's like talking to a brick wall with grown folks set in their ways. Once we realize that we can't fight this ish like we did in the 60's we will be sooooo much better off! New Day ....new attack. Peace be unto you!

chigurl

@sosincere

We are on the same page. Save the children!! Have taht "self discipline" regarding obtaining your teaching certificate. Remember this, self discipline is when you start something and you never give up. When you have self discipline you ACHIEVE. When you achieve you become self CONFIDENT. When you have self confidence, you are HAPPY.

stymelove

The south is corny that's why hip hop is being attacked now because all of these Samboy Clowns from the South with their Backward self....Open a Book and read sometimes. that's why so called Black people are in the conditions they are in because of Lack of knowledge. Educate yourselves N*ggers and stop shaking your *** *sses all the time....pick up a book and read. stop loving to be so *** ignorant. You N*ggers

OhSoCrUnK

i cant wait for his album 2 drop its gonna be off the hook!!!!

sosincere

dsgb..... NEWS FLASH CONSCOIS RAP DOES NOT SELL UNITS!!!!!! The "oochie wally" Nas was very sucsessful. Dont' forget he still got commercial banggers like "pay you back". BUT he ABANDONED that ish for the less lucrative message filled hip hop. The industry is full of ringtone rappers so how is he capitalizing off it? Not making any sense here.

2. Pac was like Marvin ***. He was torn between the social conscious and the financially lucrative ***. He had no middle ground. Either he was straight empowerment or straight destructive.....but FIRE any way he called it. Pac made *** like hit em up, and hail mary but got trapped and dear mamma. So how again are him and Nas THAT different? Nas aint acting like nothing!!!!!. The majority of Nas's music is conscious but he goes commercial also. So HE DEFINATELY is not a "genre'" rapper the way you are suggesting. Dead Prez and Common are more capitalizing on a niche' than what Nas is. Common fits completely into a conscious capitalizing box so whats your point? And if he is captilizing on conscious *** ISNT THAT BETTER THAT CAPITALIZING OFF OF SOME BUST IT WIDE OPEN, ***, DRUGS, HOES AND CLOTHES ***? Again...what is your point? You mad cause you think he is acting?........

sosincere

remy 123....thanks for the encouragement. That has been my experience also. High school was super easy. It's not that Im brilliant....well a lil(just kidding) but they basically pushed us through. I got to college and was like WHAT THE?????? I got straight a's in high school....you mean I got to study? Its' sad. In my home town they spend more money on the high school football stadium than they do on the students! Thats why I get so passionate about black folks bickering of the *** word. There are sooooooo many bigger fish to fry! Im not saying ignore it, but it *** dictate out emotions and outcry more than the education of our children for example!

sosincere

chigurl......many props on the law degree!!!!!!!!! Luv to see my people doing well.

Smackey

His album is goin be hella deep to put *** on there. I don't he means any harm. He may come out some real ***. I'm buying it!

sosincere

remy123... last comment on the subject I read a interview with him and he said he DID choose to name it this DUE to the hightened controversy. But he said not to sell units but to spark interest in what he felt he wanted to say. He said the history of the word is so ingrained within us that since it's rearing it head more and more now that now was the perfect time to attack it. He said that blacks are increasingly begining to be BLATENT targets of racism again. Almost like it was in the 60's. But others hate us and we hate on ourselves. So he said now was the best time to drop his message. While it's fresh on everyones mind. Im not mad at him. Why wait till the fire slow burns and ignite it again. Then he would REALLY catch it....lol. We dealing with a intellectual. I just know he BETTER bring fire. Or else all of us who have his back are going to be in for it.....lol! But what I do know is he's not just trying to sell units. He's trying to prove a point. He is actually hurting his record sales with this because alot of outlets won't carry it so I hear.

aah0526

I really don't like that word. But it's a bold title and I want to see how they sell this in the stores. Behind the counter? will they put a sticker over it? Can't wait to see. I just became a Nas listener so can't wait.

shawn

(stymelove) get out your feelings bra (smile) I know your lame *** is from up north cause you talking that corney sh-t. How your Dumb *** going to call anybody corney when you talking about education and in the same breath calling folks ***- you probably one of the lammest ***-fu-kers up there Ha!Ha! and for the record lil lame *** educated ***- Hip Hop would be dead like your wack *** boy Nas said, if it wasn't for the SOUTH (smile) (I'm Out)

tee_dogg

@kinkyeyes Nas and ignorant is like oil and water ok..you apparently don't know ish about Nas. Why do we care about how something may appear to others who are not black....Nas will have plenty to say...

Some of you silly negroes ran out and bought a *** near 40 yr old rappers CD where he's STILL talking about sellin dope...and he named it after a movie...now how artistic and original is that?

This is the same man who told you " I used to rap like Common Sense, sold 5 million and haven't rapped like Common since...

See we can accept mediocrity as long as it's not controversial...like above stated rapper, but Nas on the other hand will be saying something worth listening to...I wonder if the the self-proclaimed greatest rapper alive will have something to say on Nas' CD...hmmm

I applaud Nas for his title something has to grab of our people in this day and age where our youth are being inundated with all types of garbage on a daily....hell I would have called it Dumb ***!

EGYPT8777

TRUST AND BELIEVE, IT'S SOMETHING BEYOND THE NAME. NAS DIDN'T NAME HIS ALBUM THAT FOR NOTHING. HE ALWAYS HAS A MEANING BEHIND SOMETHING HE PUTS OUT. I WISH THE ALBUM MUCH SUCCESS. PLUS, I WILL BE PURCHASING IT.

mrmokelly

Wow, the ignorance on this board is incredible.

"Negro" is Spanish for "Black" in terms of inanimate objects. "Moreno" is Spanish for "Black" in terms of people/skin colors. Nothing worse than non-speakers trying to lecture folks about a language they don't speak.

Also "***/ger" does NOT mean Black. The Latin word is *** (note 'one' g) and pronounce NEE ZHER. The word "***/ger" grew out of Southern inability/unwillingness to pronounce NEGRO, corrupted it into *** and then into ***/Ger.

Please stop telling folks to open a book when obviously some of you haven't opened one yourselves.

Also as for Nas...he's a comedian and here's why.

http://mokellyreport.blogspot.com/2007/10/nas-is-funny-guy-not-intellectual-know.html

mrmokelly

And if Jews wouldn't let Michael Jackson roll with ONE '***' reference in ONE lyric...why in the world are Black folk "arguing" the "value" of naming a whole CD '-gger'...wake up people.

We're the only (dysfunctional) people in the world who would waste time arguing how this is a "good" idea. Meanwhile everyone else pursues meaningful endeavors.

Lastly, this isn't a "free speech" issue, it's a dumba$$ nitwit issue. Just because you can...doesn't mean you should and if you do...doesn't mean you deserve our support.

Exactly! The members of those white supremest groups can barely spell their names. When they see this album, they aren't going to make an effort to understand the message behind it or in the songs. All they are going to see is that they now have just cause to call you and your family a bunch of Ns. 'And it must be Ok cuz it's not like Black people protested the name of the album'.

debebelle

sosincere

I feel you, and we're touching the same base, probably in different perspectives...

I LOVE DEAD PREZ and a lot of people are sleeping on their message....

My interpretation of what Woodson was trying to accomplish was that we (HBCUs) are inferior in the school system...so why stop there...why limit ourselves...his message was to NEVER STOP LEARNING...NEVER LIMIT YOURSELF....IF THE OPPORTUNITY DOES NOT PRESENT ITSELF...MAKE IT HAPPEN...

And I'm a FANATIC for NAS...I HAVE ALL OF HIS ALBUMS...but it is {{IN MY OPINION}} ridiculous to call an album NI%GER....too much controversy over the word...that is also the difference between old school *** new school...we are just split beyond repair, and in all imaginable perspectives. MY OPINION.

ddawg

So I can now call u ***>igger when I want! haha

SthrnMsCiara

Now that I'm done laughing. I want to comment on two things. I must say I am dissapointed in the MAJORITY of the artists from the south. It is mostly dance or 2 step music. I think it's ok to have that kind of music because when you go to the club you don't wanna sit there and just bob your head to "Misunderstood" or "U black Maybe" by Common (which I listen to btw) you want to have fun. But I do think there is entirely too much of it, I myself am sick of it I NEVER listen to the radio I always have cd's. At the same time Outkast isn't like they have had hits but usually the lyrics had depth but were drowned out by the beats which made them sell. The south ain't all bad. Born and raised and I'm not as shallow as a lot of people make us seem. BTW I love JayZ, not so much Nas but the title actually makes me want to listen to see what he has to say this time around.

On a personal level I don't think Nas did this so much to SELL records as he did to draw attention to his message. I take this like the show BOONDOCKS on adult swim. Most black folk or young black folks watch it because it's funny. What they don't realize is, it's satire. In hopes to wake black people up and see the errors of their ways you point it out in extreme measures. I think that's exactly was Nas is trying to do. I think he just wants "US" to pay attention long enough to hear him. Same with what someone said earlier about the episode of Boondocks where Martin Luther King said "WILL YOU IGNORANT *** PLEASE *** DA HELL UP" It was liek wtf did Dr. King just say that!? but after he DID they listened.

I don't know if I totally agree with NAS on this method, I'm about 75% there with him. I guess I can just say I can appreciate the extreme measures that a lot of black actors/rappers/activists are taking in order to get "our" attention and to try and help better us. I love all of the movies about how educated and RESPECTFUL black folks used to be back in the day. The yes sirs, the no sirs, The GREAT DEBATORS (fantastic movie), The movie PRIDE. All movies that make me feel good and proud of being of this race. I hope they continue to do this more and more so eventually no matter hwo ignorant "we" WANT to be, we won't be ABLE to ignore it anymore. I do appreciate the efforts and Nas I will be listening this time. (SMILE)

C-Dizz

It assuredly has a deep and passionate moral!!! Go buy !!!! Queens runs NYC
