: One of MediaTakeOut.com's faithful readers discovered that R&B singer Mario is having some problems selling tickets to his concert. Here's what our reader found out:
[Saturday] night my friends group was suppose to open up for Mario the R&B singer, but to just find out it was going to be canceled.Maybe he's have better luck if he pulled a Kelly Rowland and sold his tickets for 99 cents. We know ... 99 cents is a bit steep for a Mario concert, but we might be willing to come out for that price....The concert was to be held at the Apollo in NY. Now what's crazy is that Mario's team pushed the date up to see if they could sell more tickets, but on Jan 5th they realized that NY isn't really feeling Mario, so they canceled the show completely.
At first it started out with only Mario performing, but when his team realized that tickets didn't sell, they started adding other performers such as Trey Songz (which was a good move). Then they got desperate and added Cassidy, but that didn't help at all.
A source of mine that works for Mario said that they've been having a hard time with Mario's tour due to tickets not really selling.
I love me some Mario but i dont think he is good at live performances, i've seen him b4 and i think he needs to work on that a lil more, wait..Beyonce's dad is his manager why isint he doin everythin to see that Mario gets better and what he does and sells more???? Mario you need to dump your manager and not end up like Kelly Rowland

I'D ALSO LIKE TO ADD, THAT MAYBE THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHICH MARIO IT WAS, SEEING AS HOW HE KEEPS WALKING AROUND WITH THOSE *** HOODS ON ALL THE TIME. WE GET IT, IT GOES WITH THE ALBUM COVER AND YOUR TRYING TO PROMOTE AND ALL, OR MAYBE THIS IS JUST YOUR NEW STYLE, BUT COME ON BOY, SHOW YOUR CUTE HEAD.
This is another example of a good artist not being marketed and promoted right. I agree that he may not be to the point of headlining but i would definitely go and see. His last 2 albums have been great. Its actually a cd that i can put in and listen to every i mean every song. We need to realize that you dont have to be talking about shaking that azz,beyotches,and hoes just for it to be a good song.
Mario has my vote definitely one of the most under-rated talents out right now.
I ACTUALLY PURCHASED MARIOS RECENT CD, GO AND IT WAS FIRE. I THINK FOR PEOPLE COMPARING HIM TO CHRIS BROWN, IF YOU LISTENED TO HIS LATEST CD YOU DEFINITELY WOULDNT. HE A GROW MAN AND A CERTIFIED R&B SINGER IN MY OPINION AFTER LISTENING TO HIS CD. HE DID A REMAKE OF KEITH SWEAT'S RIGHT AND A WRONG WAY ... BAAAAABY! HE CLOWNED IT. HIS VOCAL SKILLS ARE WAY WAY WAY BETTER THAN CHRIS BROWN COULD HOPE TO BE. AND PEOPLE ARE BUYING AN "IMAGE" FROM CHRIS BROWN CAUSE THAT FOOL FIRST TRIED TO COME OUT AS A RAPPER AND WASNT BELIEAVABLE AND EVEN HIS MOTHER STATED SHE NEVER REALLY CONSIDERED HIM A SINGER. BUT I AGREE MARIO DOES NEED NEW MANAGEMENT BECAUSE I DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHEN HIS CD DROPPED. I WAS LOOKING FOR IT AND HAD TO ACTUALLY GO TO 2 STORES BEFORE I FOUND IT LOL. BUT ITS DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY. ITS TOO BAD HE ISNT GETTING THE PROMOTION OR SUPPORT HE NEEDS FROM MANAGEMENT OR HIS LABEL. THEY POURING ALL THEIR RESOURCES INTO ALICI KEYS AT J RECORDS & MATTHEW KNOWLES DID A HECK OF ALOT MORE FOR KELLY IN THE WAY OF PROMOTION THAN HE'S DOING FOR MARIO. SHAMEFUL!

I think Mario is very talented but he is just not being promoted right. He seems very humble and mature, perhaps he needs a new team. Yeah his mother is an addict and I think it is great that he reached out to help her but I dont like the fact that he has been supporting her habit simply because she is his mom. Some things you just *** do.
