I never thought Vanessa was pretty until around the time she married Rick Fox. She is one who truly gets more and more attractive as she gets older. I have alot of respect for Vanessa, and here's why: I think Black is beautiful and whether you're the lightest of light or the darkest of dark, if you're representing Black, I commend you on appreciating your own beauty. Vanessa has naturally light brown hair, extremely light skin and blueish green eyes. Personally, that is not my definition of Black beauty, however, the fact that she could clearly pass for white or mixed, yet she has NEVER made an attempt to distance herself from Blacks and claim another ethnicity, speaks volumes about the person she is and her appreciation of being Black. She has a Black mother and a Black father, yet she looks full white, (or at least half-white). She could go around lying saying "I'm part this and half that" yet, Black is what she says she is. That's what I'm about, loving your Blackness. Chris Brown is light, sometimes REALLY light, his mom looks biracial, yet he has NEVER tried to say he was mixed. Salli Richardson has a white father, yet she considers herself full Black. That's what I mean, and that's what I'm about, appreciating Black beauty. You got mixed Salli, mixed-looking Chris and white-looking Vanessa, who could all jump on the multiracial bandwagon but refuse to. Then you got Black Beyonce, white Mariah and confused Christina Milian running around her claiming whatever they think holds the hype. Much respect Nessa. You're beautiful inside and out.
