: MIAMI (AP) - Shaquille O'Neal is prepared for the Miami Heat to trade him.
That's what a confidant of the 14-time All-Star center tells The Associated Press.
O'Neal's associate spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to reveal anything publicly. The person indicated a move could be imminent.
The Miami Herald reported Tuesday the Heat are in "serious and ongoing" trade negotiations with the Phoenix Suns.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel says the deal could occur "within 48 hours."
The Arizona Republic reports a deal could be imminent and that the former LSU star player had contacted some Suns players Tuesday night.
Citing unidentified sources, multiple media outlets reported late last night that O'Neal would be in Phoenix to undergo a physical today. The team pushed back its shootaround from this morning to afternoon, shortly before the Suns play New Orleans.
A Heat spokesman says the team had no comment, and several Suns officials didn't immediately return phone calls from The AP.
Shaq is well-established now in his profession, and really has nothing else to prove (other than his ability to CONSISTENTLY *** and make free throws-I know. It's still a shame) As nice as it would be to win another ring, sometimes you have to know when it's your time. Dwyane is young. He'll work it out.
-I don't know about the rest of us, but I miss the days of the Kobe/Shaq partnership. ***!
Wow....I think that is a good move on both teams part though......Shaq going to Phoenix to play with Nash and Stoudemire.....wow that is crazy...I think Phoenix did that because the Lakers got Gasol.....so if you really look at it a starting line up of nash, raja bell, grant hill(or Boris diaw), stoudemire and shaq...versus....what the Lakers have in Derrek fisher, Kobe, Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum(Gary coleman........I think that is a good look for Phoenix because Shaq don't have to do all the work......because Amare is the horse..Shaq just has to play defense and grab rebounds........Steve nash will find Shaq open....Shaq won't hacve to run as much.....he will be used as a low post threat when they don't have a fast break because stoudemire hasn't really developed his post moves......and on the flip side Miami gets Shawn marion.....That is a great look for Miami....D-wade gets a great side kick...we are looking at the next Micheal and scottie in Miami....Plus both Players are young....and don't forget Miami still has Udonis haslem......this is a great Trade for both teams.........Phoenix is trying to win now...Steve nash will be 34 this year...so the window of opportunity is closing and shaq is a proven Player...eventhough he has 2 more years on his contract worth 20 million per year......This is a great trade.........Nobody loses on this trade.....Get your popcorn ready.......
Call em Kunta from now on. Man come 2 MIA, win a championship, get hurt, and they get rid of em. F**K tha NBA wit yall racists a$$es, y enforce a age limit afta all these yrs? Cuz caint no white boy jump str8 from high school? If they wanna get they money, f**k it let em. They'll only go 2 college, get offered money, and then end up gettin investigated for takin tha *** money cuz tha NCAA won't let college athletes work. But *** i went of tha subject.
$Im in tha south, where we livin in mud puddles$
I used to like Shaq..but he just wants to stay ahead of Kobe in the Ring Department cuz he know Kobe gotta better chance this year of gettin a ring cuz of Pau Gasol went over there... while his Heat in Last place..So he gonna go to a Championship caliber team and hope to get them over the hump....One Question Shaq????How the hell you gonna Bail on WADE like that??????I thought that wuz yo boy!!!!!!!!!!FLASH remember Shaq???? You a sell out......!!!!!
As a Suns fan, I say good move. Marion wanted to be traded at the begining of the season and is going to be a free agent after this season. He's leaving Phoenix anyways. Shaq may not be in his prime, but Phoenix and Steve Nash have been known to resurrected a few careers. The difference in contract is only 3 million. Worth the *** to see if Shaq can get it again!!!
Yo HalfBreed,
Shaq is only a pawn in this thing we call business. He is only an expense at this point. There in no goodwill with this team cuz it only been a few years together. Plus in this case he has no say so cuz he is a liability to the Heat. They are looking at a rebuilding and thought it would be best to decrease their payroll and also to alleviate pressure from the front office by acknowledging their problem now. So dont blame Shaq. Its really not fair!
MTO I have a good candidate to proof read your articles. In the meantime check mispelling of Shaq's last name:O'Neal. The candidate is Brittanye Morton of Fremont California. She is a Black American so she will be able to correctly edit each article submitted. Email me for her cell phone number. 1badqt2
This works out for everyone. The Heat are going nowhere and Shaq is at the end of his career, so why keep paying him. Marion wanted a trade at the beginning of the season, so he's happy. The Suns needed to improve their half court offense and the defense. And, how long can Nash keep up the pace of his offense with the minutes he plays and at his age. They need to win a ring now.
