: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that 50 Cent's G-Unit clothing is officially closed down effective this afternoon. The clothing line, which as a joint venture between Mark Ecko and 50 Cent, had been in business for nearly 4 years.
The official reason for the company ceasing operations is a "change of partners." But MediaTakeOut.com has exclusively learned that the entire staff of the clothing company will be let go today.
According to a person familiar with G-Unit clothing business, the clothing line was no longer a viable business. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "A lot of people lost a lot of money on [G-Unit clothing]. It was time to let things end."
G-Unit Clothing is estimated to have brought in $75M in revenues last year. It is not, however, clear whether the company ever made a profit.

Like everyone is basically saying...their clothing line was wack anyway. It looked very cheap. I always thought that his gear looked like an Ecko rip off. I didn't know they were together in that deal. I'm not really up on any Gunit, Enyce type wear. The only urban I'll do is maybe baby phat with apple bottoms. That other stuff be looking so tacky. It seems like very so many months a new urban clothing line comes out. I wanna support them but then everything looks exactly the same.

I hope he isn't closing the doors to Gunit clothing. Some of us might not wear it, but I'm sure some children depend on that check 50 is cutting to their parents for working their so they can eat and live well, so for those reasons, I hope he keeps thing moving.
