: VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Barack Obama could hardly have had a better weekend. On Sunday he added the Maine Democratic presidential caucus to the three contests he swept Saturday against rival Hillary Rodham Clinton, giving him momentum heading into Tuesday's voting in three mid-Atlantic states.
For a cherry on top, he won a Grammy award Sunday, beating former president Bill Clinton and others for "best spoken word album," for the audio version of his book, "The Audacity of Hope."
While everything seemed to go Obama's way this weekend, the Clinton campaign was regrouping. Campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle stepped down a few hours before it was clear that Obama had carried Maine, where both candidates had addressed crowds on Saturday.
Obama also won in Louisiana, Nebraska and Washington on Saturday.
The Illinois senator exulted Sunday, telling a crowd of 18,000 in Virginia Beach, Va., "We have won on the Atlantic coast, we have won on the Gulf coast, we have won on the Pacific coast and we have won between those coasts."
The Democratic nomination is far from decided, with weeks or months of campaigning still ahead. Clinton, the New York senator and former first lady, is an experienced, well-financed campaigner certainly capable of pulling off more surprise wins, as she did Jan. 8 in New Hampshire.
She also is vying with Obama for the endorsement of former candidate John Edwards. Clinton quietly visited Edwards last Thursday in North Carolina, and Obama reportedly planned to do the same Monday after two rallies in Maryland.
For now, at least, the wind is at Obama's back. Polls published Sunday showed him leading in Maryland and Virginia, which hold primaries Tuesday, along with the District of Columbia.
Barring a Clinton upset in one of those states, her best bet to slow his momentum may lie in upcoming primaries in Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Obama has looked buoyant and confident in recent days, basking in huge crowds that cheer him lustily and call out "We love you" and "Yes we can!"
On Sunday in Alexandria, Va., Obama took audience questions for the first time in more than a week. While the people and their questions were not chosen in advance, the queries helped Obama outline his differences with Clinton without seeming to attack her unprovoked.
"I think it's very hard for Senator Clinton to break out of the politics of the past 15 years," which were divisive and included the Democrats' loss of control in Congress, Obama told a woman who asked how to convince others they should vote for him. Clinton "starts off with 47 percent of the country against her," he told 3,000 people at a high school gym in Alexandria, Va. "That's a hard place to start."
Another 1,000 people listened in overflow rooms, typical of the overcapacity crowds Obama has drawn repeatedly. Over the weekend he filled arenas ranging from an 18,000-seat venue in Seattle to a 7,000-seat gym in Bangor, Maine. In each case, several thousand people were turned away — remarkable crowds for campaign events nine months before a general election.
Clinton draws good-sized, appreciative audiences. But Obama's crowds tend to be several times larger when the two senators campaign in the same state within a day or two of each other.
It seems like everybody but most hispanics are waking up and realizing that Obama is clearly the best canidate by far. Hillary is only expected to when Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania because of the white and Hispanic population which is the Only reason they think that. She is such a "sore looser" because everytime Obama wins a state instead of being a REAL lady and commend, she would rather make a comment saying,"He supposed to have won that state." If that is the case then why did she campaign there at all? She have won 8 states to Obama 18 states but Oh yeah I forgot (smile) He suppose to be winning 18 States Ha!Ha! Her and Bill belong together (smile) Obama 2008!!!
The obvious beneficiary of the superdelegates this time around is another establishment favorite, Hillary Clinton.
Most of the Black political establishment in Congress feel they have to return personal and career favors to the Clintons and they are not voting their conscious, values, politics, or in the best interest of the Black communities they represent.
Their support for Hillary has been bought and sold and they may end UP preventing Obama from getting the nomination if it goes down to the end. These plantation-minded officials don’t belong in power and when Obama gets in power, their communities will vote them out for their foolish and corrupt support for the Clinton’s.
You can contact their offices and let them know they are getting in the way of our rendevous with destiny. Let’s flood their office phone lines and let them know we will vote their *** out of office for their selfish and career-minded superdelegate” Clinton vote which will prevent Obama from winning the nomination. These corrupt and career-minded elected officials are not with the people or their respective communities . Obama is and that’s why the people are overwhelmingly are riding with him.

The AP-Ipsos poll, released Monday, is an initial look at voter sentiment since the Super Tuesday contests last week. In the poll, Illinois senator Obama leads McCain 48 percent to 42 percent. New York senator Clinton gets 46 percent to 45 percent for McCain.
The poll shows Obama leads Clinton in the race for the Democratic nomination, 46 percent to 41 percent.
Obama may just sweep the Potomac Primary (Maryland, DC, and Virginia) tomorrow. I know I said in the past that we wont have a black president in my lifetime or even the lifetime of my kids. I would love to be proven wrong!
I can just imagine the look on my kids faces when we watch him get sworn in. That one act should be enough to motivate every black person to do better. Finally, a positive act that can have a real effect on average black people.

Martial-Law Enforcement Has Been Privatized!

The members of this rapidly growing group, called InfraGard, receive secret warnings of terrorist threats before the public does-and, at least on one occasion, before elected officials. In return, they provide information to the government, which alarms the ACLU. But there may be more to it than that. One business executive, who showed me his InfraGard card, told me they have permission to "*** to kill" in the event of martial law. This ad hoc spinoff created by the FBI now has given its step-child permission to "*** to kill" ordinary people based on insider- classified information. It used to be illegal to grant permission to anyone to simply murder people; threat or no threat: what happened to this legal technicality is an indication of just how far the USA has actually fallen.
No agency of this government has ever been given a blanket right to ***-to-kill anyone-Robert Mueller, another of the flake's that were in charge on 911 needs to be fired before this time next week- and a full investigation of all this garbage needs to happen, before live cameras in congress, within the week. The reason we supposedly had a government was to prevent stuff like this from becoming standard-practice. But if this stands then it means that every American needs to begin to carry a weapon to defend themselves (which was why the 2nd Amendment was created), to defend him or herself against this kind of Outlawed cowboy mentality, on the part of a criminal government, or any of their 'selected' surrogates!
The Decider has weakened the requirements for 'declaring Martial Law' to the point that it is simply whatever "he" might think is necessary; all laws to the contrary be damned. But at least until now Martial Law had to go through the US Chain-of-Command. Now we learn that this secret and relatively new private- partnership between the Corporatocracy & the FBI will allow the ultra-right wing of business to actually kill people, without charges, or an arrest or even the possibility of a trial just a- ***-to-the-head and that's it! This goes well with the way the country is being run today, from the top down its now *** first and worry later-if at all!
The American public has a major blind spot. Our citizens have not ever had to experience war here on this soil. Consequently war for far too many is nothing but a video-game, something that happens only to others somewhere else. This "lack of first hand knowledge" exposes the American public to a degree of naïveté that is almost unique around the planet.
In the past when a leader was selected it was always preferable, but not mandatory, to choose a man with military experience. The reason was as obvious as what some see as the need for both a formal and an informal education (a life in the real world). The absence of first hand experience at the top of this government has directly led to national and international chaos, and has resulted in the furthest thing from anything remotely related to leadership that any nation could have had the misfortune of living through.
WAR and all of its associated practices, torture, maiming and murder are now affecting roughly 90% of the civilians and only 10 to 12% of the actual enemy forces in our designated war-zones. The horrors that any population caught up in a war must live through to survive, remain with the victims for a lifetime. And those who know the true face of WAR really do place 'WAR' as the very last thing to even think about, much less actually enter into.
The American-Israeli leadership of the globe today has reversed that axiom: WAR is their first answer to every problem, which is why there is so much more of it than there was before. And we have been brutal beyond all the norms expected from a nation such as ours. Now we have added "Outlaw" to the other names that we are known by around the world, because we no longer have any laws for those that say they lead us and that is the definition of a Police-State wherein only the thugs have privileges, and everything is allowable with a wink and a nod, if you 'know' the right people!
When the government itself refuses to obey the laws-such as the Supreme Court did on 12-12-2000, when they appointed Bush to the White House, even before he took the oath Bush was already criminal. There was no longer a Supreme Court to which any appeal could be valid either then or now, because they violated their sworn oaths and created this illegal presidency thereby becoming Outlaws themselves yet no one spoke against them!
Where were all those high-priced lawyers then or all the Constitutional Scholars now, still within their ivory towers, or imprisoned in their chicken-little minds? The public had no idea of what had happened then, and apparently they still don't-will it take losing numbers of people to ***-in-the-dark from the Corporatocracy to finally wake the sleeping herd? Or is it really far too late already! Hey we've outsourced war itself with mercenaries, so why not use those same Corporate Powers that wanted all these wars in the first place to carry out the crime of *** down what remains of any dissent at home as well.
Finally there is this: Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics:
* 29 have been accused of spousal abuse * 7 have been arrested for fraud * 19 have been accused of writing bad checks * 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses * 3 have done time for assault * 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit * 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges * 8 have been arrested for *** * 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits * 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year...

CNN Claims Tax Rebates are a Refund Advance
Something rather fishy occurred within the past few hours at CNN.com.
Some time Friday, the cable network's website posted a piece entiitled "Treasury chief: Tax rebate checks to go out in May" which included the following (emphasis added, h/t NB reader Chandy):
The package, which passed the Senate 81-16, will send rebate checks to 130 million Americans in amounts of $300 to $600 for people who have an income between $3,000 and $75,000, plus $300 per child. Couples earning up to $150,000 would get $1,200.
The checks are an advance on next year's refunds, and most, if not all of the money, will be deducted from taxpayers' refunds in 12 months' time.
