: Yesterday MediaTakeOut.com told you that Aretha Franklin criticized Beyonce for referring to Tina Turner as the "Queen Of R&B". Today Mathew Knowles is firing back at Aretha. Here's his official response to Aretha's critique of Beyonce:
'm not even going to take this to Beyonce. Something this ridiculous, it's childish, it's unprofessional. And it's a sad day when egos get bruised because somebody used the word king, queen, prince or princess.
I do not think she even said the Queen of R&B or even the Queen of Soul....Beyonce simply said the Queen if I remember right. That could be the Queen of hair, the Queen of nipples or even the Queen of getting *** kicked. There can be more than one Queen if the world of music. Tina Turner has done alot and looks great
I have to agree with Mathew. Beyonce didn't do anything on purpose she was excited hell. I would have been fumbling over my words too if I was getting ready to perform with an icon like Tina Turner. Mr. Knowles is right on this one. Looks as though Aretha is suffering from some serious self-image issues. The outward image she's projecting could be salvaged alot easier if she would just learn how to dress! As fine as Tina Turner is, she's still smart enough to know what looks best on her small frame. I actually agree with dad on this one. It was childish of her to make those comments. She knew that Bey was introducing Tina because she was performing with Tina. It was an iconic moment for her and she wanted it to be known. Had Bey worked with Aretha (which Aretha didn't want to be upstaged by anyone) she may have introduced her as the queen. In true essence, Tina is "the queen" because while Beyonce is a big star, she was secure enough in her status to share the stage with Beyonce.

I agree. Tina Turner doesn't refer to herself as "The Queen" and neither does anyone else. I don't believe the Grammy's wrote Beyonce's script either. Beyonce, as usual, didn't think. She forgot that her purpose in life is to be "The Booty" and not "The Brains," and ended up making a little goof. Did she purposely try to hurt Aretha Franklin? No. I don't think she set out to diss Ms. Franklin. I believe she simply didn't know any better, and ended up putting her foot in her mouth. I'm sure she's heard about the goof, and what she should do is offer a rebuttal statement. Just say, "I didn't mean anything by it. I wasn't trying to hurt anyone's feelings...blah, blah, blah" and call it a day. But she hasn't done that yet. I just saw Aretha on the NAACP Image Awards, and in my opinion, Aretha needs to do whatever Tina is doing to lose the extra 300 pounds she is now carrying. I have met this family and I don't like Matthew at all. Everyhing Latoya and Latavia said about the way he treated them I have no doubt that it was true. I can understand why Aretha might have felt slighted, but she should be secure enough in herself to not care. Beyonce just said the Queen.
