HELL NAH THAT AINT HER WAISTE LINE. THIS WHOLE PHOTO *** WAS ON E!NEWS AND SHE WAS BIG AS *** WITH FLAB HANGING OFF HER ARMS. WELL I WOULDN'T GO THAT FAR BUT SHE WAS *** SURE BIGGER THAN SHE IS IN THE PICTURE ABOVE AND SHE DID HAVE MORE FAT ON HER ARMS THAN IN THAT PIC TOO! EVEN THE COVER FOR THE MAG IS AIRBRUSHED TOO.
WHEN DID SHE SAY SHE WASN'T DOING ANYMORE AIRBRUSHES? CAUSE WITHOUT THEM HOW LONG DOES SHE THINK THE INDUSTRY WILL KEEP PHOTOGRAPHING HER?
People having to get airbrushed should teach women a lesson about beauty. Even the women you look up to as pictures of beauty have to be enhanced. In other words, you are trying to achieve a standard of beauty that even the so-called standard bearers cant achieve.

I do remember when Tyra made that statement about not photoshopping any of her pics...especially that anniversary Sports Illustrated photo...
But on recent shows...she's actually admitted to it. She made a comment about photoshopping every photo she can...

That was so sweet. It's true that when a woman is attractive and in the limelight (especially when that limelight is image driven), people love to nit-pick and tear them down little by little. Look at all the posts about Kim Kardashian and Beyonce. They're even calling Gabrielle a "ho" or worse because of the slightest (unproven) rumors. It's not fair and for the average person, can be emotionally draining.

So true. You should see the before and after of many of these women. They usually look completely different before all the camera make-up. Many women considered to be drop-dead gorgeous are really average looking women. And there's nothing wrong with that, either.
So ladies, you don't have to get *** naked to try and compete or have a head full of weave (unless that's your thing, I'm not knockin it). You are beautiful the way you are. Just learn how to accentuate your best features in a classy but sassy way. You'll be a-ight!
In December I saw Tyra Banks up close and personal. I was lucky enough to attend the taping of her Holiday Show (yes I received maaad goodies!) She is very tall and slim, which shocked me because of all of the negative press she has been receiving as of late concerning her weight. She is also extremely pretty, which again came as a shock to me; you know Hollywood being all obssesed with make-up and all. So although the pictures are obviously airbrushed they're not far from the truth.
Tempertease please take that picture down. It's all wrong you turtleneck is too tight, your hair is very picky and you really should consider having a breast reduction done. It's just not a good look.
We sisters need to look out for each others, but you have to make the first step and that's carry yourself in a respectable manner.
I'm not blowing on you, but I just really wish that you would consider taking a better picture than that to show. oh!!!! and one more thing, Taking a picture with the sun shining in does not make you shine, neither does it light you up.
DEAR MEDIATAKEOUT STAFF, I love you. I do. I come to your site almost every day. Although I don't agree with or understand all the things you report, I very rarely knock your hustle. I don't complain every time you post a story that is absolutely ridiculous (like the "Beyonce is taller than Gabrielle Union" one. Yeah.). Obviously you're doing something right because me, and many others, can't go a day without checking out the site.
BUUUUT, for the life of me, I can't hold back what I'm about to say. Tyra. I love her, so I AM a bit biased. And I do admit that I didn't really follow her career as a supermodel. But when she turned into the entertainment mogul she is today, I realized just how talented she is. And how great of a role model she is to black women.
Which bring me to my point. She is doing BIG THINGS right now. A credible publication (not that you aren't) is acknowledging that. Instead of posting a story that hails her as the Entertainment Weekly cover story, you're knocking the fact that she may have had a picture airbrushed. Are you kidding me?
While, again, I do love this site, I'd like to see a bit more positive press for our black entertainers. Tyra Banks is on the path of becoming outrageously successful in the entertainment industry (not including her former modeling career), and we should be SO proud of her for that.
And one more thing (and please try eliminating mistakes similiar to these -- you make them too often): Entertainment Weekly is a WEEKLY publication.

I, too, have ceased subscriptions to the Vogues, Ws, and the like. Not necessarily because some may consider them "white," but because there was very little there for me. For example, hair and makeup tips were primarily targeting white females. And I can't be mad at that -- that's the bulk of their market. But I just removed myself from it. The magazines simply weren't for women like me. I currently subscribe to Essence, Ebony, Jet, Money, and Consumer Reports.
