: ATLANTA - AP - The rap star Juvenile is "shocked and devastated" by the shooting death of his young daughter, the girl's mother and another child, his manager said Saturday.
The 32-year-old rapper is still trying to cope with the death of 4-year-old Jelani; her mother, 39-year-old Joy Deleston; and the woman's daughter Micaiah, 11, whose bodies were found Thursday night in their home, said manager Aubrey Francis.
"It really shocked him and devastated him to the point where I've never seen him before," Francis said. "Right now he is relaxing and trying to grasp everything of what has happened."
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Anthony Tyrone Terrell Jr. is being held in the DeKalb County jail, charged in the deaths of his mother — a Gwinnett County sheriff's deputy — and siblings at the home near Lawrenceville, outside Atlanta. He was arrested Friday.
Deleston brought a paternity lawsuit in 2004, claiming that Juvenile, whose real name is Terius Gray, was Jelani's father, Gwinnett County court records show. Both parties later agreed Juvenile was the father.
Juvenile, who is in New Orleans, had been making regular child support payments, Francis said.
In 1998, Juvenile released his third album, "400 Degreez," which sold 4 million copies. At one time he was part of the four-man group The Hotboyz, along with Lil Wayne, Young Turk and B.G.
Attorney Randy Kessler, who represented Juvenile in the paternity suit, said Saturday he had not talked with the rapper about the killings.
"Any time you have a situation like that, it's shocking," Kessler said.
Terrell was taken to jail in neighboring DeKalb County to avoid any potential conflict because Deleston worked for Gwinnett County, said Lawrenceville police spokeswoman Illana Spellman. She could not confirm Friday whether Deleston's service weapon was used.
Because of his age, prosecutors cannot seek the death penalty against Terrell. A preliminary hearing will be set next week in Gwinnett County Superior Court, prosecutor Danny Porter said.
Defense attorney Lyle Porter did not return calls Friday and Saturday.

Man when I read the initial story on here the other day, I was hoping that it was a really bad rumor. My heart goes out to Juvenile during this time of need. I will also pray for the young man that allegedly committed the acts because that is nothing but the devil's work. Let me also add that while materialism is an awful quality to possess (IMO), no one deserves to have their loved ones taken from them prematurely due to anything that wasn't natural causes. I'm sure there are people on this message board that idolize their material possessions as well and would snap out if anyone alluded to the fact that those things were more important than their loved ones.
I try to remain hopeful for our communities, but it gets harder and harder each day as I hear of more and more senseless acts of violence being committed. The Police were looking for evidence, well, if they were seriously looking for evidence, the child charged would have had the evidence needed, which is gunpowder residue from firing the weapon, along with the smell of gun power on him, let alone, whenever someone dichares a firearm, there are pieces of metal fragment's that comes from the firearm being dischared, not just between the index finger and the thumb, but on the forearm as well, so IF, and I use that term loosely, if this child did that why wasn't, he dusted for gun powder, secondly, why would he return to the scene of a murder, they alleged he committed. Come on people, we all know how the LAW Agengcy, can interrogate someone who is already afraid, and intimadate them into a confession. The Sheriff wants this to be the person who did it, simply because they don't won't the residents of that community to be afraid to live in their homes, let alone putting their home up for sale. I have visited Lawrenceville GA., several times. and I must say it'a a great community. Let's all keep this child, the sole survivor in prayer. I'm more than sure he were cohersed into a confession.
whatever is the truth that lead to this tragedy is none of our concern & we may nevr know but one thing is for sure & that this is a very heat-breaking , extremely sad case....wether juvenile was a responsible child-support paying person or not...bottom line 3 lives are gone! & it's a shame this 17 y/o basically ended his own life as well..not by killing himself physically but he's facing decades in jailtime, most likley life-sentence & will never be a free man again!

I remember one day my mom and I got into an argument and I tried to yell back at her. When I woke up I was in my bedroom. Did I want to kill her? Heck naw. I just took it as a lesson learned. Besides she would've came back from the dead and whooped my *** again. I stayed in my room that whole week to avoid her.
Kids now don't respect their parents anymore. I was in the store and saw this boy who had to be around 6 tell his mom to *** up. And she did!

This is really sad. @7lady.......I know what is wrong with our children today. First of all, there are still a lot of babies raising babies. We are not bringing our children up the way our parents raised us....in CHURCH! I don't care what anyone says, if you raise your child to know God and what our purpose here on earth is, there is always a certain level of respect for life and rules that child will have. Trust me, I am a mother of five, ages ranging from 16 to 6 and I am very blessed. My husband and I are always complimented on how well behaved our children are, but *** it be that way? All of my children are respectful and appreciate having a roof over their heads. Parents have to start teaching material things are only that, it won't get you into heaven. That is what we are not getting people...this is temporary. Our whole mission here is about how well our work is done on earth so there will be the blessing after death from our bodies. People please get it right, it's not too late. If you don't know God, get to know him and if you did before...he never moved, you did. I'm not saying it's easy, because it's NOT, I'll be the first to tell you. But you have to continue to be strong and faithful to God and your spouse. Spend time and I mean quality time with your children, it will make all the difference in the world.

My heart aches for him and their families. What would make that boy so angry to want to pick up a gun and kill his flesh and blood? What would make him feel like he could not talk to anyone and this was the only solution? I can't imagine looking into the eyes of those babies and the woman who gave you life and being able to take theirs. It makes no sense. It is so incredibly sad.
This is exactly what I have been talking about, but people want to brush things under the rug. These kids today, are VERY DESTRUCTIVE. I have been a teacher for a long while now, and each year, it gets worse and worse. A lot of teachers are very depressed, because you can talk to these kids, but they are going to do what they want. It is very sad today, nothing these kids do suprises me. It has a lot to do with T.V., bad parenting, and peer pressure. Parents, violent video games, violent music, need to all own up and take responsibility for our kids, WE HAVE FAILED THEM. I talk to them all the time , and they tell me they have changed with the times, I mean THAT IS CRAZY. I am all for positivety, I have always been. This world is so crazy today, I am so sick of it. This is shocking because they look so happy in the pic and also because she is a sheriff. I was thinking depression, but then if that were the case he would have killed himself too. So now I am thinking either he was on drugs, again he would have killed himself too in most cases. Maybe some day he will say why he did this. Either something in him just snapped or someone paid him. It is sad because unless you hire some good detectives to figure this out most people do not care too much about black people to figure it out. *smh* i see where you're coming from, as i'm the first to express my displeasure at the growing number of sperm donors, and diminishing number of fathers in our community. however, now is not the time to kick someone while they're down (unless you want to kick the brother/murderer; i'm all for that). let's have some empathy, and remember that although we may never know for what, everything happens for a reason. it's senseless, and it's not right, because she was just an innocent baby. but perhaps it was necessary to teach us all to hug and kiss our babies, love them before it's too late, and know what it means to truly be a parent, not just a provider of material things.

I have been to east cleve, detroit, chicago, brooklyn & I have never seen anything like new orleans. I visited prior to katrina and looking at those shacks was amazing. Anyone who kills their own family...especially their Mother has some type of mental problem. Whether or not he was a deadbeat dad is irrevelant right now. That's his conscience that will whip the *** outta him. But my heart still goes out to the young man because a life that he was partly responsible for producing is now gone and therefore a part of him is gone too. Very sad!

I'm not saying it's impossible for him to have committed the crime, but I'm just not yet convinced that he did it.
Very sad story! I think after the preliminary hearing, more facts will come out in the case...I know a few people above mentioned that he was coerced into a confession (and yes that happens), but according to the news reports here in ATL, Anthony actually gave them the location where he dumped the gun. So, for now he appears guilty.
