: You may have heard rumors going around that Janet Jackson was filming a music video for the Feedback Remix with R&B singer Ciara - well forget it. Word coming out of Def Jam is that - while the label would love to see the video - Janet does not.
An insider at Def Jam told MediaTakeOut.com, "It would be a great to [do a video] with both Janet and Ciara, but [Janet] isn't interested .... There's no way she wanted to be dancing on the same stage dancing with a girl half her age."
As much as we'd love to see a Janet-Ciara video, we ain't mad at Janet for not wanting to do it....

Listen, I'm a life-long Janet fan. But some of the things I'm reading are a bit much here. First of all, yes Janet IS an icon, but that's not a reason to cut Ciara down. The same things Ciara is known for are the very things JANET is known for. Newsflash -- NEITHER of them have great singing voices, and both are known for their high-energy dancing. Let's not make Janet out to be Whitney freakin' Houston vocally, here.
And let's not go overboard in puffing one person up, just to cut another one down. For someone to say Ciara will NEVER accomplish what Janet has in her career, is very unfair. And not only that, it may not be factually accurate. First of all, Ciara's last album sold almost DOUBLE Janet's current album in the first week. (180,000 vs. 325,000) And both her albums have outsold Janet's last 3 albums combined thus far, by more than a little bit. I mean... 180,000 copies the first week, and now we're back to bragging about Janet stunting? Go ahead, blame the market and downloading. How's the market affecting Alicia Keys' sales? 700,000+ copies the first week. How's the market affecting Mary J's sales? 700,000+ copies the first week and still truckin. How's the market affecting Beyonce's sales? Not at all. How's the market affecting Justin Timberlake's sales? Not at all.
Just saying, I love Janet, but let's not belittle someone else, just so we can give Janet a compliment - especially when that person tends to sell more records when they drop an album. Most people are solo for the simple fact that they don't wanna have to share the spotlight at all and Janet just may be that type. Nothing wrong with it...
Some older women in Hollywood do go through that phase of feeling like they have to compete with younger women. That's why a lot of them dress considerably younger than they are (((MARIAH CAREY))) or go get plastic surgery...b/c this country is so focused and prides itself on youth. The women that still look young and fresh are the ones who will get all the gigs/jobs.
And to be honest, Janet is one of the best of all time, but she has a much larger older fan base that's around her age than she does younger...she always will. But she's still competing for the younger ones too. Ciara has that naturally b/c she IS young, more current and appeals to her generation more than Janet would. When Ciara gets older and if she's still around, the same would be true for her as well. Like one of the posters stated before, they don't consider what Ciara does dancing. But ask a teen/young adult who's style they would prefer...they WILL say Ciara b/c her style is what the younger generation are doing and are about...booty dancing. LOL The older generation will probably prefer Janet b/c that's what they grew up with and are used to themselves.

Both of these sistas are talented. The original feedback song I could barely make out what the heck Janet was singing about. However when I heard the remix her voice was clearer. Ciara and Janet voices mesha well together. I like how the remix was well put together and you can distingush the two voices which was surprising to me. Who produced the remix?
