: MediaTakeOut.com just got the early projections of last weeks album sales. According to our sources, Rick Ross' album Trilla sold an estimated 175K and Snoop's new album Ego Trippin' sold 110K Unfortunately for Fat Joe, his new album Elephant In The Room sold only 45K Units.
Congrats to Rick Ross for putting up some respectable numbers. But when legends like Snoop and Fat Joe are doing those kinds of numbers - the music business is in serious trouble
Don't feel sorry for Fat joe...he did half of what Snoop did, but he's independent...so all he has to do is make it to 100,000 copies and that's a million dollars. He'll do about 150 thousand by the time it's said and done, and he made a cool piece of change. That J Holiday song is a banger, and he's got some other cool songs too. His album is pretty cool.

Its all about technology now adays! Why spend crazy money on a whole Cd when artists aren't even put out good decent albums? I can just download their one good sound for free and be on my way! Tell every artist stop tyrna be a mogul and make good music! Everybody wants a clothing line and a shoe line and their own label! EVERY RAPPER HAS THEIR OWN LABEL! And we wonder why no one buys their sh!t anymore? Record labels like Interscope should just release collaboration albums like one song from each artist on the same disc! Like Interscope Presents...Eve, Will.I.am etc. Cus they ain't selling sh!t out here!
@RAW BREED! STFU GET A JOB. Fat Joe is a joke and was the weakest in the DITC. BTW, He was barely a part of them and if you look at the history of material put out, FAT HOE is barely there. Second, I'm not some "youngin"....Fat Joe is a fraud, bites flows, doesn't write his own lyrics, claims NYC but lives in Miami, *** "boricua" but played out fellow latinos Cuban Link, Tony Sunshine , Triple Seis, Armagedon and Puns family. i musta heard different albums than the rest of yall... in my opinion, Rick Ross' was the worse out of the three... he had a few hot songs (including Luxury Tax, Reppin My City, Maybach Music, & The Is The Life)... EVERY SINGLE TRACK ON FAT JOE *** IS FIRE EXCEPT FOR "GET IT FOR LIFE," "DROP" AND "PREACHER ON SUNDAY MORNING" in my opinion... but my favorite of all is Snoop's, and it aint by much (Fat Joe is close second).... out of 21 tracks, i'd say about 17 of them i cant stop listenin to... stop hatin on Fat Joe if u aint heard the album yet....

I've been listenin to rap since they used to show videos on PBS afterschool (1990). Fat Joe is a veteran, and does have crazy talent. But he's *** of a legend because of inconsistency, not cuz he's trash. Not a big fan, but his album is type crack, and it duz have the formula or real rap music. he's better than a lot of those wack south ***. those singles are tough,and the each beat give u that 90's blue collar vibe.

Well you have to consider that we are in a recession. People are using credit cards to pay for lifestyles that are far above their means. Hell, I just brought my first house. I look at the artists and say *** that's good for them but what about me. They don't care if I pay my bills and anything about me. All they say when their on the radio is: This is [SPAM]__ at ______________ station FM promoting my _______________ album that will drop________________. Listener #1 This is Keisha from Brooklyn. I love you. Artist You going to buy my album? Listener #1 Yeah Artist Get my album it's hot.
The shows like cribs are what really make me want to buy an album just seeing the artist in human form not the tape recorded version. Maybe they should give back to afterschool programs and summer camps and parents wouldn't mind buying an album but with all these *** bills who cares about a *** album dropping. Do albums come with points or coupons from the label? Hell no, so this is me going to cop some groceries. Artist Cop that album son it's hot.
