Once you're willing to compromise your morals, and jump when the master says jump, then you'll sell. Show a little skin, dance provocatively, and no one will notice how poorly you sound, or that you're singing about absolutely nothing.
I guess I'm kinda old school and proud of it. This is why I love Alicia and Mary. Their songs are about life lessons, not getting bodied, or buying diamonds, or some sh!t.
It's a sad day in music. We need Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, Brian ***, Jodeci, Boyz II Men, etc. back. I'm waiting for those days to return.
Albums aren't selling the way that they used to. Irv is salty with her about using non-Inc. producers and artists for this album. She has to hustle and promote as much as possible now. That is the nature of the game now. If William Hung can get a record deal, anyone can. Old school is screaming that hip hop is dead. The music industry pretty much is. You don't have to be a great singer, because they can do all kinds of things in the studio to help. Just sing catchy lyrics, wear no clothes, and shake your hips. Then, you'll be a star. I don't buy that trash. There are only a select few that can even be considered quality.

Some of yall act like she has no talent whatsoever which is not true. Aaliyah wasn't much of a singer...she hardly had any range...But she did dance well and her cds were good. Everybody is not a dancer! Mary J. Blige doing her thing right now and shes known to not have the best voice and she stiff as all hell. But Mary got some good songs...Good writers...Good cds. Ashanti is not talentless if she was she wouldnt have even made it as far as she has. Like to say she is the worst is too much...like..Look at Cassie. Pretty, nice look, Less than mediocore vocals...And Can't dance! But her songs are catchy...Actually I can't really take up for her...Ashanti will grow into a better singer, she has been getting better you can tell with every album. So, no shes no Beyonce...Who will ever be...But ***, she is a multi platinum selling artist you gotta respect that to some extent...hate her or love her...she getting paper regardless.
