: MediaTakeOut.com just got some stunning news. According to reporter Donna J. Miller from the Cleveland Daily News - Sean Levert was chained to a chair before his death. Here's the breaking report:
Sean Levert had been acting strangely at the Cuyahoga County Jail before he died, Warden Kevin McDonough said in a news release.Levert was at the jail for five days, living among the "general population" there.
He then displayed "bizarre behavior" and was put in an observation cell Sunday night. He began shouting and pounding on the cell door, so guards put him in a restraint chair, "without resistance and for his own protection," McDonough said.
Levert's wrists were strapped to the chair and his feet were shackled to the floor. About 20 minutes later, he appeared "distressed" and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Sheriff's Office and County Coroner are investigating.
And there's more. MediaTakeOut.com just learned that the Levert family have asked the Federal Bureau Of Investigation to investigate the death of Sean as a POSSIBLE HOMICIDE.
Developing...

I am so sorry to hear of such tragic news...I believe the pressure of what was happening took a toll on him...stress is a #1 killer...however, men/women why do terrible things have to happen in order for us to learn our lessons...pay your child support..pay your bills/taxes...so we don't have to go through such drastic measures..
Love to the Levert Family....
Why am I not suprised?
@Oldenough.....when they restrain you they dont do it gently....they use enough force to cause death (usually 3-4 officers)....thier favorite technique is cuting off the airway---in order to totally dominate-causing cardiac arrest... I'm not saying this is what happened....but it does happen often...quite often...
@daidream I agree that was insensitive but it is true (maybe not the last sentence) I dont get where jailers may have killed him.
if you are acting a certain way while in jail they put you in the chair.
sorry that he did not make it, but that is the procedure at a jail unless he has a reported physical or mental ailment.
The fact is there is a family/ fans in great pain . NO matter what his reason was for being in jail(Not that I think it's cool to be a dead beat either) but nevertheless, if there was an mental/medical issue with him they should have seeked the appropriate help for him. Like ALWAYS... People w/ power/ authority wait til the last minute to react. Like ALWAYS they are a day late and a dollor ***! Think this is so sad. ***** This should be a wake up call, we( as a culture) are droppin like flies, and it's not always street related !!! R.I.P Prayers go out to the Levert Family !
I am a nurse & it sounds like a blood clot either went to his lungs or to his brain.
I had a patient that started acting combative when I worked ICU. I called the doctor for a sedative. Next thing I knew she had flat lined & we had a Code Blue. Unfortunately she died. I learned that day, look at the bigger picture.
I heard about this yesterday too on the Steve Harvey Show on the radio. According to Gerald Levert's former bodyguard, he had an anxiety attack from being locked up.
Failure to pay child support WTF, what you gonna tell your kids?:
"Daddy died cause he couldn't afford y'all"
What a last memory to have of your father,so sad.
To all the fellas: Man up, some of y'all know you or somebody you know is ducking CSE (Child Support Enforcement). Coulda been you.
