: MediaTakeOut.com told you last week about the rivalry developing between NBA's DeShawn Stevenson and LeBron James. The two are playing each other in the NBA Playoffs and they've been talking trash for days. But now Jay Z apparently has gotten involved in their beef.
The Washington Post has been covering the entire saga. Here's what they say happened on Friday night:
In the wee hours of Friday night at Love, the Northeast club which hosted Gilbert Arenas’ million-dollar 25th birthday party last year, the deejay played a new cut by Jay-Z. The hip-hop icon actually cut it Friday and had it downloaded for a party hosted by LeBron James at the club that night. Stevenson was told that the lyrics just eviscerated him — in his own town.And here's how the Post reports DeShawn's reaction to the Jay Z diss:Then teammate Damon Jones, who last did something to collect an NBA paycheck two years ago, took the microphone and talked junk about Stevenson.
He says he has a lot of swag, but I don’t think that’s something to do,” Stevenson said about James. “This is basketball. I’m not worried about the song. I’m not worried about what he did. But for Damon Jones to get on the mic. And I heard he was saying foul stuff about me and stuff like that, they’re taking it beyond basketball to me. When I had Soulja Boy here. First, why is 40 year old Jay Z getting involved in beef between two twenty-something NBA players. Second, why does Jay feel its appropriate to use the wackest beat known to man for that track Third, isn't Jay Z supposed to be an NBA team owner??? iight, this is some real talk right here. me and my folks was leaving the ****** club and on the ride home we stopped at the Wendy's on New York Ave & Florida Ave (DC) and LeBron & co. came in there coming from LOVE. after waiting what felt like forever b/c the Wendys ppl was all gauking at him. Then his security said "we been in here for 45 min" so LeBron said "iight, im paying for er'body food in here"....I was so fried...i left my cell in the car...and when he came in they lock'd the doors and nobody could come in or leave until he left.

Jay-Z must be having some insecurity issues. Why go after Will Smith? The man is established, he did his thing, and he's in film, you're in music.
