: MediaTakeOut.com caught wind that Terrence Howard is an EXTREMELY overprotective father. How overprotective? Well he threatened to murder his daughter's boyfriend.

The Iron Man star didn't appreciate his 14-year-old daughter dating a classmate he disapproves of, and "intervened" by forcing her to ditch the unfavorable suitor.He says, "She's supposedly in love with some guy. I made her break up with him and I've threatened to kill him. I was like, you picked a green fruit from the tree that's far from ripe." And Howard ensures he keeps a tight-leash on his beloved kids - warning Aubrey she will be cut out of any future inheritance if she is not "obedient". He tells his daughter, "I've set a lot of things aside for you, but those things are only yours as long as you're obedient to me."
However, the actor has put a crafty plan into action to make sure the teenager doesn't fall back into her unsuitable relationship. He adds, "She's OK now. Though, I'm sure he's still kind of her boyfriend. This summer I'll take her off to another country where her phone won't work, and he'll start dating someone else."
Sounds like a lot of fathers we know ....
I believe it and he's *** right. She still young and it's probably just puppy love but he need to put the fear of god into these dudes to keep them away from his daughter. I believe that Denzel Washington did something like that to his daughter and she's in college. He threatened to kill the dude if he didn't stay away from his daugher and also sicked his son on him....Poor girl...LOL
I understand where he's coming from. Keeping your child supervised is one thing but ....
However, I believe a child should be obedient because he or she has respect their parents. If you have to threaten your child with "their not receiving monies you've set aside for them",that is a SHAME. Think about it ... how will this young person feel once they come into their inheritance ... once their parent is old and wanting to see grandchild or their own child?
One's closeness to their child should not be premised on money or control, it should be built with LOVE first before anything and then UNDERSTANDING.
Emphasis on monies will surely cause problems in any relationship with your child. They were given to you by God to cherish and nurture ...

Kudo's to Terrance! I think even if he didnt have the money he would still be that way. I think the money is just a "perk". Besides eventually we'll see if the money makes a difference or not.....she is a teenager with a few years to go before adult hood. Time shall tell..... And I dont feel like he's a crazy/pyscho Dad for being like that. Some kids are VERY strong will (I speak from experience) and they will do as they please even when your doing your job as a parent like spending quality time with them, listening to them, being involved in their schooling etc... Some kids will still make bad choices even when you've tried to teach them better! Love and Patience is the key..eventually they will learn.
Hey I ain't mad at him. Boys these days are a lot worse than when I was coming. But I think it's just today's influences are worse as well. You have to keep a tight reign on your kids, especially your daughters. And when you set up things by working as hard as he has, you don't want some crazy dumbazz boy getting close to it.

He has no right to threaten to kill a child. I'm pretty sure that kid is the same age as his daughter. Sometimes you have to watch these girls just as much as these boys. I bet he don't want nobody to threaten to kill one of his sons when they start dating. Makes me think do you love your daughter or do you have feelings for you daughter yourself.
You have to be very, very careful. Sometime this being to strong handed can cause rebellion. What teenagers want the most is your time and not your celebrity or money. She needs to home from school and you be there so she can talk to you and ask you questions about boys and others things. The fact that she don't live with you and you are not with her mother will cause a rebellion in itself.Nomatter who good a father you are. Her question is why is my mother not good enough for you? The fact that you are running around Hollywood laying Models and actresses is not a good role model for a young girl. Don't be the pot calling the kettle black.With a daughter you have to be a 24 hour father. Or anything can happen. Good luck brother.

At 14 she *** be dating anyway. Parents have to be there to see who's sniffing after their children. It might be some boy or girl that means them no good.
Having a father who will put the fear of God into a boy is the right thing to do. This way any male will know he's not just going to do anything and get away with it. If more girls had fathers like that we wouldn't be hearing about teen pregnancy every week.
