Me and several of my friends have been researching info on Terrance Dean's new book, "Hiding in Hip Hop". I have several excerpts from the book I feel you guys should post.And without futher ado, here are the items - and the MediaTakeOut.com staff's guesses:From reading these excerpts me and my friends already have a pretty good idea of whom he could be talking about BUT I'm sure for the others, some of the MediaTakeOut.com fans will help to reveal the others.
I'm personally offended and pissed because these men are lying to their families and their fans. I dont have anything against anyone homosexual but I have everything against fakeness and dishonesty.

Gus, a singer, attractive with "clear skin, dark eyes, bushy eyebrows, and short, wavy hair did not give way for a thug image. He was just too pretty." "One morning, I turned on my television and I wasn't prepared for what I saw on BET- my boy, Gus, parade in his video with a host of celebrity cameos mean mugging for the camera- I just wondered how he would keep his secret of sleeping with men a secret."Our guess - initials G - no last initial. Why do we tear down our successful, positive black role models? If they escape the streets, an average 9 to 5, prison, etc., then acquire popularity/affluent status we seem to feel as if something has to be wrong. Is this due to our inferiority complex that we may have within ourselves? Or are we conditioned to hate instead of congratulate? Is it because we haven't reached our full potential and tackle our own dreams and aspirations? To all my brothers, once you reach your dreams....You'll be *** too or arrogant, or a woman beater, or wack, corny, a sell out. Be prepared for the hating, but until then don't participate.
Shows how much I know. I though W.S. was for Wesley Snipes. But he's not married to an actress, is he? It's so hard for me to believe that about Will Smith. But not the rest of them. And people, Boris Kodjoe is not B.C. because obviously, it would have been B.***. @ Moodyline, where have you been? A wife and kids does NOT make a man automatically straight. Have you ever heard of a cover up? And as far as G being Ginuwine (learn to spell his name people), I am not at ALL surprised. I had those thoughts since he came out.
@lila1124, it may not be Bill Cosby but it's NOT Boris Kodjoe. That show wasn't all that successful and his initials aren't BC, anyway. And there was some controversy and questions about Bill Cosby's sexuality and even child molestation, so how is everyone so positive that the BC doesn't stand for him?

Does it really matter they are all very talented and intelligent black men, maybe they wouldnt be on the DL if our community wouldnt be so judgemental about it. Either way it goes these men have blessed us with some of the best talent and whether they are *** or not that will never change. The sad part is that if any of this is true they will continue to hide or be on the DL because when the black community finds out your different they immediatley turn their backs on u, like by supporting them would make one ***. Its so sad, people we really got to do better.

Here in Hollywood there are so many ***/bi/DL actors and producers. Albeith Mr. Cosby is not one. Think more along the lines of one of the W bros and his tv wife. How did she get a job after the Martin thing? She and her signaficant other participate in stuff, so did her tv husband. Think about it. As far as the rapper, think more about the Atlanta connection. (stand up, move get out the way) F.C. is too dumb to actually get it if a dude was hitting on him. On the Lucus, Eli, right on. The G right on, talking to him is like talking to my stylist. The reason the author or ex-celebrities, celebrities, or those who are around celebrities do not reveal names, is because of the lawsuits. The courts would be overloaded with lawsuits from celbrities, studios, record companies, production companies. Anyway the studios and record companies employee thousands of people to get the consumer to believe in the porduct/person they are selling. I must use code becuase like everyone else I need to make a living. I have a few coins and want to keep them. I would suggest you use initials as well, because you never know who is trolling on here, looking to make examples for litigation. But I feel like the whole "DL phenomenon" was pushed out there by the mainstream media as just another way to negatively stereotype Black men...Its almost like, if a brother doesn't fall into the usual stereotypes (lazy, unemployed, uneducated, not well spoken, criminal, drug addicted, etc..) then they slap the "***" tag on...its a way to make virtually every black man seem negative....

A guy where I live recently wrote a letter to the editor of the local newspaper. The man he was talking about didn't like what he said and took him to court. He sued and won!!!! Lawsuits are real, whether someone is telling the truth or not.
The rags use to report on Liberace and his *** escapades. He sued and won. Years later all of it turned out to be true. Tom Cruise has sued any media who's accused him of being *** too.
As for these DL celebs, as long as their spouses know there's nothing the public needs to know about it. Tom Cruise and the Smiths are fast and furious friends.

Please, I almost lost a deal because of all this gossip. Tisha and I own about six commercial buildings in Studio City, California, and were looking to acquire two other buildings. The realtor went online and read that we were getting divorced and called our clients and said, “Y’all need to get out of this deal because these two are divorcing, and you don’t want to get caught up in the separation of funds and all that kind of mess.” So they called me trying to get out of the deal.
Essence.com: So how did the rumors get started? T.M.: Duane and I usually attend Charlie Mack’s Party 4 Peace Celebrity Weekend in Philadelphia. This year he couldn’t make it because he had to be in Turks and Caicos scouting for locations for the hotel we’re building there. So I went to represent with Tichina (Arnold). After I left Philly, I heard that a radio disc jockey announced we’d had an amicable split. Then Duane got a call from Cedric the Entertainer saying, “I just want y’all to know, Dawg, y’all broke up.” (Laugh) So it progressed from he and I having an amicable split to Duane verbally abuses me to Duane physically abuses me to Duane has a girlfriend on the side to Duane has a boyfriend on the side to I also live an alternative lifestyle.
Essence.com: Bloggers even wrote that Duane and longtime friend Will Smith are an item? T.M.: (Laughs) Our theory is that it’s really a slave mentality. Now Clifton was rumored to be *** a long time ago, even rumored to have a relationship with Michael Jackson back in the day. This was all before he got saved and before he did "Amen". Actually, I would say 'Jazz' is Damon Wayans... when the Cosby show came out, it actually got negative reviews from many groups because it did NOT accuately depict African American families (a doctor dad and lawyer mom)... but it was popular none the less. "Malcom" - either Russell Simmons or Diddy (I'm leaning more towards Russell because of the "business" and "politics" mentions. Diddy is not too deep into politics.)
