: MediaTakeOut.com caught wind that Mary J Blige was a good Samaritan the other day. Word is that she helped out a broke chick at the Diane Von Furstenburg store who was in desperate need of a wrap dress.
Here's how the NY Post is reporting it:
"The girl had a dress on hold that she loved, and the bill was $900. She thought it was only $500, and she couldn't afford it." Blige told the saleswoman, "Go get the girl. I want to pay for the balance on the dress." The customer at first declined Blige's offer but relented after the singer said, "I know what it's like to want something and not be able to have it. I insist."Mary .... girrrrrrlll ... why you ain't tell us that you were giving away money!! Do you know that we have a pair of earrings on layaway that we've been paying down on for months ....
that was a waste of money, i guess it was nice of mary to do that but if that chick is gonna buy a 500 dollar dress than she obviously got some money and mary sent a bad message of materialism by doing this, mary should have went to a store in a ghetto and bought 400 dollars worth of clothes for the families that cant afford somethin for 10 dollars, and *** all of u guys who aren't wealthy but by jeans that cost more than 200, stick to 70 at most, its the same ***

Whew...ya'll ain't neva lied! Loan payments are kicking my azz too! It was cute when I was in school and they were deferred....then my azz graduated and the bills started coming and ain't stopped yet!
And I know what you mean about the gas...my brother used my car to go to NC and left me his truck. I drove from my house to the mall (a 10 minute drive) and back with the air conditioner on and the tank went from 1/2 to almost on "E". I parked that chumpy (another of my old school words) and got my bike out the garage. Eff what ya heard.

Why in the hell was she trying to buy a $500 dollar dress that she had to put on layaway anyway. Obviously, you can't afford it so go buy the cheaper version and stop trying to live above your means. I don't know, maybe it's just me but this sounds like a set up. If the girl had the dress on layaway, how could she not know how much it was? She probably saw Mary in the store and thought Mary might help her out if she gave her a good enuff sob story. Maybe I'm to suspicious. But who am I to knock homegirl's hustle fo' real.

that was real....whether ornot she conned MJB; whether or not it was on layaway...the gesture is the most important part...MJB probably saw herself when she was younger at that very moment... On the real, Mary is my idol. She's always been real from day one and is glamorous...and ya'll dont know maybe the girl bought the shoes first...u know that's what women do...I do....I buy the shoes and then the outfits to go with it.....
haterz. it's not a waste of money. as a matter of fact, your basics should be quality clothing. when you purchase cheap clothes, you end up spending more. how many times have some folks replaced that white blouse from rainbow 20 times when you could have spent a little money. let's face it, you will always have and need a white blouse.
