ATTENTION!!!! FASHION DON'TS FOR BIG GIRLS!!!!!!!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello my fellow friends and Big Girls. I have you know that I'm big and proud of it.....for the most part. However, there are some things that slender women can wear that necessarily doesn't look right on us. I was Wal-Mart the other day and what I saw was quite disturbing. The outfit was cute, just not on her. That's why I decided to put together this list of fashion don'ts for my above average women:
Daisy Dukes/Mini Skirts: If the *** you are wearing cut off your circulation, don't wear them. Show your legs in a proper manner if you can. If you got pot holders and dents in your legs then daisy dukes aren't going to cut it. The same goes for mini skirts. Wear pants and skirts that show off your legs in a dignified manner.
Tank Tops/Spaghetti Straps: If you have rolls that make your back look like you have an extra set of breasts, PLEASE DON'T WEAR TANK TOPS OR SPAGHETTI STRAPS!!!! If the straps of the *** makes a crease in your shoulder, don't wear! Cover that up!
Spiked Heels: If your weight exceeds past the 250 mark, spiked heels aint gonna cut it! You don't want to be strutting it down the stairs and suddenly snap the heel. This will cause you to tumble down the stairs like a roll of hay and knock down whoever is in your pathway like they are some bowling pins. If you care about people's lives including your own, don't wear spiked heels!
Tight Clothing: If you don't have the body to show everybody and their mama what you really have underneath it all, don't wear clothes smaller than your actual size. If you are a size 16 in your pants, wear that size. I can't stand seeing my fellow big girls wear those extra tight pants that make it seem like they have two stomachs. Don't do that! Also this goes for tight dresses. You don't want to look like a sac of potatoes.
Animal Prints: If you don't want to get *** by accident especially during hunting season, don't wear an excessive amount of animal prints. Wear them as minor accessories if you are intent on doing so. Just because slender women can wear the animal kingdom, doesn't mean we can. Some of us look like we belong to the animal kingdom when we wear them.
Horizontal Stripes: They just make us look bigger than what we really are. Vertical stripes if any are better.
Wearing sports bras as ***: Slender women *** do it any ways. Maybe if they are working out at the gym, than MAYBE that could be a legit reason to wear it in public. However, referring back to #2, if your back looks like you have an extra set of of breasts/tiddies/tig-o-bitties or however you want to call it, don't wear that.
Wearing a *** as a dress: I saw on the Internet, Ashanti's little sister TRYING to pull this off. This is a fashion NO for all sizes, especially plus-size women.
*That being said, I just had to get this off my chest. (sigh) I'm sorry if I offended my fellow big girls, but some of ya'll have to hear the truth. Big is beautiful when you do it the right way. Just because that outfit looks good on that skinny girl sitting next to us, doesn't mean that same outfit is going to look good on us even if it's in our size.

i'm a size 8, no kids. i wear a nice pair of linen *** with heels and a white blouse and everyone's (black women) nose is turned up. in walks three fat girl with hot pants on, only a few people are like wtf. another slim and shapely woman comes in wearing a catsuit with an expensive yet stylish belt. she pulled it off. again, hating from most.

Mzarrogance where do you live that you (who sounds like you don't stand out at all) would get such hate from only the black women? That is weird...Glad I don't live there and don't know any sisters like that!!!
Also what does your not having any children have to do with them hating on you? Sounds like none of you ladies had any kids with you.
To Msw2010: I endorse your comments fully. Sadly, too many plus-sized women will take offence, and accuse you of hating on them. They need to hear these things more often.
What I also find sad is that quite often, big black women tend to be the culprits that commit such crimes of fashion. When will this change?
I love all women, no matter what size they may be, but they need to accentuate qualities that make them look and feel beautiful, instead of making complete *** of themselves like the woman in the pics. Those of you who thought Godzilla was still attacking Tokyo, think again. These pics are proof to show otherwise...
@ Msw2010: Thanks for responding. Although many would see the humorous side of what you said earlier, I was mainly focusing on the practical side; the application of what was said in the comments. Everything you said is exactly the truth, and some of it applies to skinny women too.
Big women get enough negative comments about their physique, so they need to avoid drawing negative attention to their manner of dress as well.
And if you tell her that she ain't all that she will want to fight. Is it that some black women just don't care? I see this kind of stuff a lot. I really would like to understand because to wear this out in public leads me to belive that she has some emotional as well as self esteem issues. What does it mean when a person just gives up on themself.
Now I know I'm no skinny minnie myself at size 12, but I wish some of these big women would wake up and realize that they can't wear every outfit that these skinny girls wear and get away with it. People will respect you a lot more if you wear clothes that are sexy, stylish and SIZE APPROPRIATE! This woman looks a hot sloppy checkered mess.
Someone said she looks like predator! LMAO!!!!Her outfit has me thinking of those books where you have to put the picture up real close to your face and slowly take it away to see the hidden picture! LOL. I noticed she has a dye in her hair. Dyeing your hair and not maintaining it will result in you hair falling out! She obviously must not have good relations with her family or no girlfriends because who would let they mama, granny, auntie, cousin or friend be seen in a terrible azz outfit like she has on?
