This performance made me cry. I didn't know how much i missed all of my favorite groups from when i was a kid. Them ladies all got big but they still had it. When I seen ENVOUGE I *** near screamed. And when I saw TLC i cried. lol call me crazy but it was wonderful. It was like a stroll down memory lane.

Alicia had a wonderful performance. She sounds great live. She came out of her element, I never expected to see her dancing like that. I like SWV but they did not seem comfortable singing on stage again. En Vogue is HOT! Most of them still look the same and can sing beautifully. I like TLC but T-Boz sounded scratchy, howevever the performance was wonderful!
BTW, Another cupcake and Alicia will look just fine. She looks great MTO, stop trying to find something wrong with her

Gaining weight is something that happens to most people as they get older and have babies, etc. I'm pretty sure YOU don't look the same way you did 15 years ago either.
There were 3 groups full of beautiful black women with positive messages in their music who came back together to give us fans what we have been wanting for the longest (despite any rifts that may have been between them), but some of you haters just HAVE to kill it with your never-ending negativity. It's already tough enough trying to make it in the business as a black female without transforming yourself into a "ho", something that NONE of these groups resorted to thankfully. Most of their heyday was in the early to mid 90's...Britney Spears, who had a career just a couple of years ago, looks worse than anybody I saw on that stage last ***, yet no one gave her half the critism in the thread MTO ran on her that I'm seeing here.

I have this 1 tied for best performance with Al Green. I was cracking up when Coco glared at Alicia when she was walking down the stairs. I loved their performances. It makes me want some new material from En Vogue & SWV. I miss real singing. Lili did need to fall back when she was singing with them, because her voice did not blend well at all.

Alicia is not fat. I think she just picked the wrong chouce in jeans. It is never flattering when folks with large hips and thighs where skinny jeans...especially when they are skin tight like hers were. I still think she is beautiful.
Although the girl groups didn't sound too goo I was still happy to see all of them!!!!!! Made me want to cry for real.
Envouge was my girls. they should have continued with their careers. SWV aint nothing without Coko the other two girls dont really have a voice.

How awesome was that performance. When I saw SWV, I got teary-eyed but when En Vogue came out, the tears started streaming down and when TLC came out (even with T-Boz' voice), I was literally Boo Hooing. That was taking it back and paying homage to REAL MUSIC, REAL SINGING, AND BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMEN WHO REPRESENTED!!!! Alicia is the best, no holds barred and absolutely hands down! She continues to make me proud to be a New Yorker!
OH MY GOODNESS PEOPLE! please stop HATING and being extra mean! Do you know how hard it is to be one of the hottest groups of your time and then to all of a sudden be replaced with these bootylicious, half naked, pop-lock-and-drop-it women? then be asked to preform after over 10 years...knowing that you've gained weight, aged in the face, etc.....these women already know that they weren't looking like they did back in the day, and i'm sure they were nervous as hell. What If some of them are reading these negative threads? They probably thinkin "***! I'll never do that again" They probably saw this headline and thought they would get alot of love on here but all i see is alot of hate. just goes to show how superficial we are today. Older people were probably happy to see Al Green alive and well. but the first thing our generation says is "ooh she fat, look at her hair, they can't sing no more...blah blah blah" And to all the ladies on here dissin theose women because of their weight, I hope your man doesn't dis or leave you if you ever gain any type of weight (even though most of them do) Anyway all 3 groups rocked it, and no matter how they looked, everyone in the audience was on their feet singin along during the entire preformance, which is more than I can say for some of the artists who had the 6 packs, perfect hair, makeup, etc. Just goes to show that music is STILL about talent and not looks. Looks fade so if you don't have the talent to go with it you will definitely fade away too.

I don't Kanye West deserve the awards he got. I think people are still feeling sorrow his lost. I thought Ne-Yo should have the Best R&B over Chris Brown. I loved how Usher kicked off the show. That boy can dance. Overhaul, it was a great show, but they tried to do too much with the special effect.

man, this performance was awesome!! i was watching it with my cuzin and i was all geeked when swv and en vogue came out and my cuz was like "who are they?!" and she was so serious! it was just a reminder how the younger kiddos (and not even that much younger than me! we talkin just a few years) don't even know about the REAL r&b..REAL music!! cant recognize it for nothing in the world! but yea, A Keys did her thing gettin these ladies together. it was hot!!
I thought that was the best performance of the ***..and I wasnt shocked that all of them gained weight..theyre in their 40's or very close to it..yall young bucks need to understand that your body WILL change as you age..youre not going to have the same figure in your 30's as you did in your 20's..it just doesnt happen..unless you work out every day and eat right it wont happen..and even if you work out every day, you would have to work out twice as hard as you age..these women also had kids..I think they looked great..Cindy from En Vogue was BANGIN..she gets the prize for the best preserved woman on that stage..these women came out in the very early 90s so theyre not going to look the same in 2008..its just that we havent seen them in a LONG time so we're a littls shocked..but they did a great job..and it was so nice to go down memory lane..I never watch the BET Awards but Im so glad I watched this time!
and I have to give props to Alicia Keys..she was a pro on that stage..she held the groups together..there were times when Alicia had to help out and sing because the sound wasnt too good..I dont know if it was the microphones or if the other ladies' voices werent stong enough but Alicia held it down and made sure everything went smoothly..she was amongst legends and she held her own and commanded the stage
This performanc last *** was really nice. To see all my old favorite female groups. When Alicia was dancing with TLC though it kinda felt weird and sad at the same time. I just wished they didnt put her in the middle right where Left Eye use to be. It was just weird, but I did enjoy them. I didnt realize how much I missed Left Eye until I seen them perform without her.

I was so happy to see all my favorite girl groups were out.I don't usually care for Alicia but i might give her a chance now because she put on such a great performance.All the new age R&B chicks should have taken notes. Note#1 make music with meaning so that maybe on a future show you would have impacted an artist enough to feature you in their performance.

Big ups 2 Ms. Keys, she is good 4 bringing back some artist's from the past. She did this recently with reggae artist's. It was a good performance but, certainly not the best of the ***. Lil Wayne ripped it. and Maxwell was well Maxwell. Vocally he sounded the best. Also, T-Boz surprised me how she sounded just like the record especially, when she first came out. She slipped a little towards the end but, in all pretty good performance by all. Lat year's show sucked.
I enjoyed most of the performances last ***. I think Keyshia Cole looked fab. Everybody saw her MJB side come out last ***. I loved it!!! I wasn't feelin A.Keys hair but her performance was by far the best! I think the weight looks nice on her, as for SWV they all looked like a stuffed sausage. And I was waiting for Coco to really blow but she didn't. EnVogue still got it, no complaints there. They could've turned T-Boz's mic up & wut happened to that 3rd member they recruited a couple yrs ago, wut was her name? Anyway, I know T-Boz has sickle cell, but last nice she definitely looked like she was under the weather. Wut can I say, everybody's a *** critic (even me) but overall I enjoyed the performance.

Mannnnnnn. The show last *** was the best that I have seen is soooooooo long its ridiculous. I loved each and every group that came out and performed with Alicia. That was super hot! I was dang near in tears. My niece and son was like who are they? I had to school them and bust out the cd collection to put them up on game. I absolutely lovvvvvvvedddddd it. I been missing them for sooo long. I sat and tried to think of ways it could be better but then I realized if they had added Total and Xscape then the segment would have been ***. SWV is/was one of my fave old skool girl groups but En Vogue won this one. They all looked & sounded HOT. Coko looked like she gained a few & the voice was not on the level as it once was or she just didnt do enuff vocal excercises backstage. Chili looked great but T-Boz looked like Keyshia Cole after a LONG AZZ NAP. the voice was horse as ***.
Yep Strawcream I agree....Terri was my favorite member of En Vogue, she was the prettiest to me and had the best voice....but hell they ALL have excellent voices! Terri and Holly Robinson-Peete can pass for sisters for real!
Keyshia Cole was good once she started getting into the song......she needs a little more vocal coaching when it comes to performing on stage but other than that my Oakland girl represented!!

Ya know...it gets to be a bit ridiculous, when as a people, we can't give positive feedback on the few good things that we have cause to get excited behind. I find it appauling that MOST of the comments on here revolved around negative reflections on last ***'s awards show. First of all, kudos to Alicia for putting together a great performance! What she did was amazing and I don't think anyone saw it coming! Genius! Second, this is an awards show directed at acknowledging POSITIVITY in amongst OUR celebrities, entertainers, athletes, singers, dancers, etc...this is something that Black folks don't have in the mainstream media. Anyway,these groups are TRULY SINGERS and i'm not knocking these groups that are out now but the music is truly not the same anymore. Everyone is into looks and how much they can paid. I though Alicia's performance was great! Yeah, those skinny jeans can cause some "oozing" around the stomach area if you ain't careful...lol I've been there. I just wear a more loose fitting *** with mines. She still was cute nonetheless.
It was wonderful to see the original ladies of En Vogue together after all of these years. I hope that means that any beef between Dawn and the other ladies has been squashed.

I was at a Lakers game once when they sang the national anthem and actually sat and talked with one of the En Voge girls for half of the game. That was a good ***. I was only 18 or 19.
I honestly thought the BET awards were going to be lame but they proved me wrong just on the fact that they brought out SWV, Envogue and TLC. That crowd lost it when SWV came out. Cause everyone was like, why is Alicia singing "Weak," That was soooooo crazy! Then when Envogue came out! What! That was off the hook! I miss these groups!

And get this said Rihanna and Keyshia was one of the best performances LMAO!!! Keyshia/Kim was GHETTO MESS and Keyshia was Off key and screaming whole performance... Rihanna was boring!!! And vocals were okay. LOL But yea MTV MTO and other sites but this one agrees A Keys performance was Historical and one the best and I have to agree my personal fav. then the Ciara and Chris Brown OH WEE!!! IM like MTO I need a Cigarette and a cold shower after that one LMAO! Those moves was some of the greatest ever and hella sexy! They are Legends to come for real!!! OOOOOOOH My God I'm still blown away by Alicia Keys, En Vogue, SWV and TLC they almost made me cry. They had me going nuts in my living room. they brought me back to high school dayz walking down the halls with my Walkman. En Vogue was and still is the hottest girl group that could SANG their azzez off. I have all these groups on my Ipod, Boys II Men, Lisa Lisa(80's), Mary J. Blige,SWV KC and Jo-Jo,Slick Rick, High five, Babyface, After seven even Milli Villi(even though they lip sync) and the list goes own.On Al Green's performance that man just ripped the entire stage up completely. I'm sorry but New school music just cannot touch Old school music. That's just my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
This was da wackest BET AWARDS ever...i did not watch it, but i know it was, just from da previews alone. Whatever happened to da singers? no one on stge moved me...it was simply pathetic, da awards show on BET was 2001. Its been a wrap ever since. The people dat are saying it was da best show ever, you guys need to be exposed to better voices...i feel bad 4 u guys!
I honestly loved it...Alicia is known for bringing people out from the past when she performs, but she out-did herself this time.... Brought back mad memories from when I was a teen....and young adult.... ONe of my favorite performances of the ***!
Ladies did ya'll see my man Maxwell bring the *** house down!!! Music seen has been missing real singers...I hope he comes back soon, I would definitely buy it, and not the bootleg version either....
His voice is like pure heaven, my man should thank him for moistening it up for him... cause I was definitely taken away by his voice... Maxwell we miss you.
