A convicted sex offender faces charges after he allegedly hid inside public restrooms as part of an attempt to obtain and drink boys' urine.And it gets worse …. Apparently this dude has done this in the past – read on:According to police, Alan Patton was discovered trying to collect urine inside a men's restroom at Sports Ohio in Dublin on June 14, 10TV's Kurt Ludlow reported.
Police said that Patton, 56, had shut off water to the urinals and placed cups inside them. Police subsequently charged Patton with criminal mischief, Ludlow reported.
After another arrest in 2006, he told Gahanna police that he suffered from urophilia - a sexual fetish involving urine. He also told police that drinking boys' urine made him feel like he was " drinking their youth," Ludlow reported.So he ain’t a danger to the public????? LAWD HAMMERCY!!!He also told police that he had collected as many as 15 "samples" in one night, Ludlow reported.
Judge Carrie Glaeden, the judge who sent Patton to jail for probation violations a few years ago when he refused to get counseling, spoke with 10 Investigates on Monday.
10 Investigates asked Glaeden if she thought Patton was a danger to the public. "I don't think his method of operation, at least that I'm aware of, is that he actually touches the children," Glaeden said. "But if he can't get what he wants and what he thinks he needs, I don't know how far he'll go to get that bodily fluid."

YES he does have a fetish- and the average person will think he is sick- This is true... but should he be locked up- no he ***. if thats the case- many people should be locked up for their eccentric acts. when this becomes a PHYSICAL INTERACTION- or trying to lead to a physical interacation- thats different. Although its nasty- and he may be a pervert- its HIS FETISH- and although its nasty and extremely unhealthy - there is nothing that can or should be done to him. You cant go to jail for being a nasty azz!!! sorry guys- but if he TOUCHES one of those boys then I say yes- hang him by his genitals!!! Ive heard worse fetishes....
No - actually im dead serious. IS he sick yes he is- but you cannot go to jail on being sick!!! UNFORTUNATELY this is how our judicial system is designed. You go to jail based on what you do- now what you "may" do... AS OF NOW- he hasnt hurt anyone- so they cant do anything to him. He can choose to be as nasty as he likes...as disturbing as it maybe to people- its the truth... If cops were to go around locking people up on what they "think" they would do- it would be crazy- thats now how it works- therefore... even though he is a nasty pervert- yes.... it is what it is.... they just need to watch him closely.. thats all THEY COULD DO.. You cant lock him up because his "fetish" "may" get out of control- because it "may not" and you cant prove that it will....right now- thats all it is - is a fetish...and you can not go to JAIL FOR A FETISH- regardless on how SICK IT IS!!!!!

@ missco... How do you figure his fetish is not out of control??? Obviously it is. First off, the man is a convicted ***-offender and *** have been hiding in a public restroom in the first place. Second, if he tampered with the plumbing system for the purpose of "catching BOYS urine" then mens rea, meaning guilty mind, which is an element of crime, is definitely present... He wasn't waiting for just anyone's urine, he specifically wanted that of a boy... The fact that he needs to feel this unhealthy connection to young boys by "drinking their youth" is sick and needs to be stopped. Who's to say that he wouldn't go further to act on hus delusional thoughts??? The public *** have to wait to find out what he might do next... While a person can't solely go to jail for being sick, I believe the intent to commit the crime was there and this person has a guilty mind. He acted on his sick feelings by tampering with the toilets and hiding in a mens restroom... If he was in California, trust he would be facing far more serious charges than criminal mischief...
WTH is going on in OHIO??? I wonder what the terms of his probation are??? I will have to do some research on this and find out, because if he admitted to what his purpose is and what his intentions were, he should be violated and sent back to prison...
As UNBELIEVABLE as that sounds.... They can't charge him with anything. THE ONLY WAY they can lock his *** up is if he was physically in the bathroom stall with the young boys.... Now... Had he done this at a Church, School, A public playground... Any places that have a good number of kids (*** offenders cannot be within 1500 feet of these locations), Then he would have been thrown in jail a while ago.... Let me tell you what the courts see... They see a man that has Urophilia and he needs to be locked away in a mental institution for a while. If they do charge him (the most they can charge him with is Invasion of privacy), The case would get thrown out because his attorney could easily argue that he wasn't in the stall with the kids, Urine is considered waste anyway and he was just collecting it, and he wasn't physically harming anyone in the process.
This man head isn't *** on right. He way off balance and needs help. And it would be in everyone's best interest if he was out of the general public, But i can sit there and tell you right now, with the information that was given, that he isn't gonna be charged with anything. It is sad.
I have heard worse things than this. I am on the fence w/ this. This man didn't actually harm anybody w/ his fettish, but do you wait until he does something horrible to lock him up for actually causing physical harm? And even though he didn't cause bodily harm to the victims, I feel that he caused some emotional harm to them. I'm going to do more research on this...
@ Rawbreed, I agree that having Urophilia or mental illness doesn't constitute a reason to be be put in jail but the difference in this case is that this man IS A CONVICTED *** OFFENDER, I'm curious of what he actually did... If he wasn't a past *** offender then the only crime commited would be him tampering with the toilet. But considering that he has offended in the past, I would be concerned about what he might do next if I lived in that community.

Hello- well as two women who study law- dont know how far you have arrived- but you will soon learn that it is not a crime- to carry a though- as disgusting as it maybe- not a "judicial' crime- perhaps a moral crime- but we are speaking of the law- not morality.. And although its disturbing- having a thought CANNOT BE PROVED as an intent to do something ONLY AN ACT ...PERIOD. he has done no ACTS to anyone to land him in jail..and although his thoughts MAY lead to him doing an act- HE HASNT DONE IT!!!!! I am only speaking of this issue- NOT of his previous convictions of which i have no knowledge of- but on this situation- THERE IS NOTHING anyone CAN DO TO HIM- expect observe him- and watch him..he has NOT BROKEN ANY LAWS- unless they change them. But you are on the right page- but it goes much deeper than that...The law is the law- and as per the law- HE DID NOTHING WRONG_ although its NASTY AS HELL!!!!!!Maybe its time for them to re invent a new law for situations such as this- but hon- you cannot charge anyone on a "thought"...wont hold in court- ...only actions- and you CANT PROVE that his thought will make him do a crime- you can only assume...which can be a good assumption- but in court- as a law student- you should now assumptions are nothing but assumptions....and does not hold!!! we could speculate all we want- but they cant touch him- PERIOD

@missco Don't you think the law is more effective if it's proactive instead of reactive? We already know he has major issues so what kind of america would this be if we didn't do anything until after he did something to somebodies child? Look at the chain of things that could happen. He touches somebody's son the parent of that little boy go out and *** him (as they should) now you have a productive member of society in jail and this all could have been prevented. You saying that a lot of people have fetishes yes they do this is true but usually the fetishes are acted out with CONSENTING adults. Key words CONSENTING and ADULTS. What kind of wack *** attorney are you? I am an attorney 2 years in the game I wouldn't defend him for all the money in the world. Have a heart some morals some *** ethics!
