I agree with you 100%. I was just about to say the same thing. Bellydance and all that other stuff that she does is all part of her culture. She can bellydance her behind off. Trust I am no J Lo fan or even a big fan of Shakira's music(her dancing is SICK!!) but when people raise Beyonce to messiah level it really makes me laugh!! All artists borrow from each other. I was only stating some of the older artists that Beyonce has borrowed from and vice versa. I also am not questioning Beyonce's heritage. I'm asked to explain "what I'm mixed with" a lot and it doesn't bother me at all. When I say where I'm from I get the famous line, "Oh so you're Creole" I just find it quite convenient that I didn't hear much about how "creole" she was until the House of Dereon line came out.
Sayanything, New Orleans is like a whole world by itself. I love it. The accents and everything. My sister has that accent too. There is alot of variety down there. I know people who went down there for All-Star weekend and fell in love. I used to visit all the time. I am going to have to plan a trip down there soon.

Um that woudl be tru except Shakira is musically trained. She writes lyrics, composes music and plays multiple instruments. So Im sure when she gets older she will be behind thet scenes making her paper the same way she still lends her pen to other artists.
Beyonce may write a line or two in some songs, but 90% of Shakira's music has been written and musically arranged by her. She also directs and produces her own vids, heads her own charity and she is engaged to the son of i believe its Argentina's Presidents son. So done, she will not be. Her financial future is very well set.
Her carreer will be long-lived. Just like Ron Howard started off as an actor but has anyone seen him on the screen lately? nOpe he is actually more sucessful behind the scenes as a director. People behind the scenes sometimes are more successful than the ones actually on the scene. As far as financially, neither would be done after their singing careers are "over"...Both are multi-talented...Beyonce has even won an award for song-writer...She wrote most of DC's music and some of her own.

I think I didn't like Beyonce regarding the incident with the first two members to ever get "kicked out" of DC...but after years of observing, reading, watching interviews, watching her life story on "Driven" or E! True Hollywood Story, you know it had to be done if those girls wanted to do something different from the man who made the biggest sacrifice for them. Shakira. Shakira landed on the No. 4 spot in Forbes.com’s first list of the Top 20 richest women in music, after industry giants Madonna, Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion.
So technically she did maked Forbes list.
Madonna topped Forbes “Cash Queens of Music” list, earning $72 million between June 2006 and June 2007. Streisand followed with $60 million, thanks to her comeback. Dion ranked third with $45 million, largely from her successful “A New Day” show in Las Vegas.
Forbes.com said it compiled the list by examining concert grosses, merchandising revenue, album sales and other revenue from clothing lines, fragrance deals and endorsements.
Shakira earned $38 million, fueled by the "Oral Fixation" tour — 111 concerts total — that took her swirling hips across the globe.
The 30-year-old multiple-Grammy-winner crossover *** most recently appeared on the soundtrack for the film adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez’s “Love in the Time of Cholera.”
Staten Island-born Aguilera grossed $20 million thanks to her third studio album “Back to Basics” and deals with Pepsi and Orange, a European cellphone operator.
Aguilera fared behind Beyonce ($27 million), and Gwen Stefani ($26 million), but outgrossed Faith Hill ($19 million), the Dixie Chicks ($18 million) and Mariah Carey ($13 million).

BKLatina, that list you put up was from 2006-2007. And when the poster above said Shakira was not on the current Forbes list for celebrities, she was correct. Even if the list is an estimate, it is not that far off because of the other names listed as well. It couldn't be that far off inwhich a person would be totally left off of the list.

After reading all of those lists again, Shakira did make her 38 mil mostly from concernts 2006-2007(she did 111 concerts), which is fine but I don't even recall Bey touring during that time frame. As a matter of fact, she wasn't...so the 27 mil she made was mostly off of endorsements and album sells and what not. She started her solo tour last Summer/2007, which is what helped her get the 80 mil...So the Forbes comparison really doesn't help Shakira much at all.

Beyonce NEVER did the slow motion hip grind before, but hasn't stopped since Ciara brought it back. Beyonce always wears booty *** and bikini tops, never rocked the tiny top with the baggy bottoms (Soldier video)until Ci did. Beyonce has NEVER had her hair black HER ENTIRE CAREER, only blonde and brown. As soon as Ciara dyed hers black, so did Beyonce. In "Get Up" Ciara says "ring the alarm, the club is jumping now, so get up". I guess Beyonce loved the line so much that she went a wrote an entire song called "Ring the Alarm". Beyonce named her song Check On It, RIGHT AFTER Ashanti came out with "Still On It" AND Beyonce stopped wearing cornrows when she got this white girl image because she thought it looked ghetto, but she switched it and wore them in Check On It, RIGHT AFTER Ashanti wore them in Still On It. Check On It was nothing but Mariah's "We Belong Together" video done over. Everything from the babydoll dress, the big wig and longer gown, the dress length top with no bottoms, hell the only thing missing was a *** wedding dress. The entire Destiny Fulfilled Tour was every Janet Jackson and Jennifer Lopez concert, performance, and music video all in one. She is a horrible artist and an awful person and it is so gracious how they all don't blast her out for what she has done. I know I sure as hell would. I think Ciara was talking about her when she said it's important for artist to have creativity of their own.
My boy Donte begged me to sit through it and I got up about 8 times in disgust from all the copying (the matador theme from Jennifer's "Ain't It Funny" video, the white tank & jeans from Janet and Ciara, the all black, militant robotic movements from Janet's Rhythm Nation video, the waterfall @ the end from Britney's tour). Whether you love her or hate her, you gotta admit, she is a chronic copycat who is unoriginal. I have a friend, Vicki, who LLOOVVVESSS Beyonce more than all of yall put together. She thinks she is the most beautiful person she has ever seen and is the best singer/dancer in the business. I asked her "what is the truth behind the obsession". She finally admitted that she doesn't think Beyonce is drop dead gorgeous, nor is she a great singer or dancer. She says she loves Beyonce because she isn't stick thin and she feels that sends a powerful message to younger girls that you can be less than the media's opinion of perfect (white woman, blonde hair-blue eyed, stick thin, with DDD breasts) and still be the most recognized, successful people in the world. I can respect that. I can respect the honesty even if I don't agree with what she says about Beyonce, I can respect someone saying what the real deal is behind all the *** kissing.
