: Interscope lost another artist. MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind that rapper Busta Rhymes was dropped from the label over the weekend. Word on the street is that Busta Bus was popping off at the mouth with Interscope head Jimmy Iovine. And that a heated conversation the Interscope boss sent word to Busta that his services were no longer needed.
Another casualty of the fluttering music biz…

Well busta will be fine.I guess he wasn't down with whatever they were selling. Busta has standards when it comes to his music and probarly how its promoted. At least he wasn't drop for sells Jimmy probarly just didn't like a black man standing up in what he believes in. Busta will still be around in 10 more years.
Black on Black hate is even more popular than black on black crime so most people wouldn't even understand how Jimmy Iovine has historically profited from the exploitation of negative black imagery because they were too busy blaming 50 or some other financially accomplished black. I have a disdain for what hip hop has become. Jews like Iovine, Jerry Heller, Steve Rifkin, Lyor Cohen, Edgar Bronfman and the rest have carefully sculpted and promoted the most vile representations of black people with the help of these modern day stepinfetchit artists. THEY are the architects of gangsta rap. The music doesn't reflect the streets. Not by a long ***. Instead the streets reflect the music. Wanna know what's really hood? Ask anyone of those execs.
I'm glad Busta clashed with Jimmy. If only he'd take it public like he'd do with another black man. When people criticize rap they focus on the artists while the bloodsuckers skate by unscathed with saddlebags of money made at the expense of black dignity and ignorance.
The problem is so pervasive that we now uphold THEIR standards and expectations of blackness as our own. I don't wanna hear about these artists only talk about what they see. Blacks in the 70's and 80's saw more violence and drugs than today yet the music didn't reflect that. The music was about love and fun. The purpose of entertainment is to ESCAPE reality not EMBELLISH it. These artists and those who support them are clueless pretenders and the label heads like Jimmy Iovine are their willing PIMPS.
It's so easy to go at one of our own but who's willing to get to the root of the problem?
In an industry where nothing @$$ youtube and myspace rappers are progressing..... I'm not surprised (no offense to the 5% that's not whack). Busta is still the truth and he's still a musical genious. He took steps to get to where he's at, so therefore he has a lot to fall back on. He put in the good old fashion hard work. He has a pretty dedicated fan base so he'll be cool. I'll still love him regardless. In my book he has made legendary status. Ain't nothing wrong with moving on.
DANG BUS!!! You was just about to make your comeback. His attitude has been changing yo!! I read an article about him and his whole crew feels the same way. He aint the fun loving, easy going person he used to be. Now your f'ed up attitude lost you your job. Taking too many pointers from 50 by burning your bridges. Hmm mmm mmm. SMH.
I'm so tired of all the haters on here trying to push someone out the door by mentioning age. Those people need to STFU because talent supersedes age. Busta one of the best in the game. He is a legend for those that don't know. His last album came out a couple of years ago, and did quite well. For all the haters you guys are part of reason why the music is falling off. You keep trying to push the best talent out the d@mn door. When you hear a Busta Rhymes joint you know who it is. He gonna bring that fire every single time.
F@ck you MTO! You [EXPLETIVE] owned website using [EXPLETIVE] phrases like " popping off at the mouth " . That's at least the second time I've seen you use that phrase. Busta's a legend. He's made a lot of [EXPLETIVE] money. F@ck that greasy gangster Jimmy Iovine too. His company would have been out of business long time ago if not for Death Row records.
Thatonedude and TexasGlamourChic thank you! They are way too relevant for us to be pushing out the door. When they leave the game, hip-hop will never be the same. Redman, Ghostface, Tribe, Ice Cube, Common and Method were true entertainers and storytellers also. When they lose it, then they need to bow out. As long as they are outflowing the "young" ones, then ... stay in. Write their lyrics down on paper and see if you see anything with merit. Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, *** Jagger, Cher, Madonna, Sting are all still doing their thing many albums later and no one is asking them to bow out. Meanwhile some celebrate Ashanti's and Tearra Marie's average albums like classics.
I like Busta but he kinda fell off somewhere along the line he used to talk about righteous stuff now is "B- this and B- dat" it gets old real quick especially since he lost whatever physical appeal he had. I love Busta, at his best he could be the greatest rapper alive. I remember him hanging out on Church and Troy in BKLYN back in the days. He always seemed to be a good dude. I am sure Trevor was financially prepared for this. He is the only one is his crew who actually was able to move on look at LNS-De La Soul-ATCQ.
Who knows maybe its is karma for what happened to his security guard. RIP

THESE RAPPERS NEED TO COME TOGETHER AND START AND INDY DISTRIBUTION COMPANY AND *** THESE [EXPLETIVE]. JIMMY THINK HE'S SOME GANGSTA, *** HIM! MASTER P TRIED TO TELL THESE FOOLS YEARS AGO WHEN HE CAM IN THE GAME AND RAPE THEM FOR $300 MILLION! RAPPERS NEED TO GO INDY *** THEY HAVE A FAN BASE ALREADY *** THESE WHITE OWN COMPANIES THAT DON'T LIKE YO *** ONCE ONE CD DON'T SELL LIKE THEY WANT.
I agree trooper 1000%. Wake up Black Artist & People in the biz. THese are the same Jimmies at Interscpe that wrere *** near broke before Deathrow saved them, And they raped deathrow in the end. This labels do not give a rats *** about any rapper. ALL ARTIST. GO Independent. Sell your own music. Funny how they want you when you kill it without them.
While I highly respect and appreciate the body of work Busta has provided to hiphop and its fans, I think its time for him to bow out gracefully. Dude needs to explore another career move. If your not selling millions on these major lables they don't want you anymore.... You are just as good as your last hit song. That's what this game is about. Good luck busta, I wish you well always...
