: Could Usher be ready to re-hire his mother Jonnetta Patton as his manager. According to a report in the NY Daily News, Usher is considering doing just that.

Now that Usher's new album has been slow off the mark, he's blaming [his new manager Benny] Medina, say sources. True, the CD, "Here I Stand," debuted at number one. But Usher is said to have been disappointed that it sold 433,000 in its first week, compared with his last CD, 2004's "Confessions," which had sales of 1.1 million in its first seven days.And in case you're wondering what Tameka Foster, Usher's wife thinks about all this. According to the report, "now that Foster has given [Jonetta] a grandson, the two ladies are said to be getting along better."Medina, who's an expert at holding artists' hands, reassured Usher that his latest sales were nothing to be ashamed of, considering the current climate of the record business. But then, three weeks later, Lil Wayne's album, "Tha Carter III," sold more than one million copies its first week out.
"Usher was livid!," claims an insider. "He threatened to fire everyone."
That's the best decision that Usher's made in about a year and a half...

I guess he thought his career really wasn't going to fail when he FIRED his mom and allow his ignorant wife to take the wheel. I guess he just got the memo. LOL!!! Everyone talked about Chris's performance at the BET Awards and no one was excited about Usher's. I knew I wasn't going to buy his album. Here's the thing, Usher isn't bringing anything new and exciting to the table. It seems like all he is doing is making a cd with more "confessions" tracks on it. and his dance moves look the same. his performances look the same. he's washed up and he doesn't have to be. all he has to do is be a little more current. Im sick of the stiff choreography to club songs. bring some slow jams or some soul to it. did i mention his videos all look the same.
Usher should probably blame the fiasco surrounding his marriage as some of his previous fan base fell out of favor with him over it. He should also probably blame the fact that the up and coming artists are stealing his juice since he's been out of the performance spotlight (Neyo, J Holliday, and the like). He should just blame the industry as a whole, since the listeners don't embrace good R&B like they used to. He could blame the fact that he needs to mature his music and style of performance up since he's almost 30. He can't keep performing like Chris Brown and 'em because he's too old for that, although he's still in great shape. There's just too many factors involved than just blaming it on Benny, although Benny might have lost some juice himself since he brokered Will Smith's television career. Usher's not the first artist to walk away from Benny.
Pluse he's tied up in an NBA franchise who does not know what to do with their cash cow marquee player, and are about to lose him in two years (LeBron James). Now that's not his fault because he probably does not make decisions on contracts and getting quality players around Lebron. But his money is in the organization, and the team is about to tank in a couple years if they don't keep James and get other players. Not a good look for Usher.
I saw Usher on the 4th of July at Magic Kingdom in Orlando. He was there with Tameika and her kids. If you wanted proof that this man's career is done...you should have been there. Not one person even looked in his direction twice. He was walking through with a white cap and t-*** and no one even paid him any attention whatsoever. Maneika was walking behind him and you can't miss her really...she's fugly as hell.
I lost all respect for him after he fired his mother and will never buy any of his music. This woman raised him by herself and made him who he is and he's gonna turn around and disrespect her for a woman like Tameika....please!!! He's a loser!
I really don't think that Chris Brown can "sing" better than Usher...his vocals arent near on par, nor does CB have a "grown man's" voice yet. Don't get me wrong, totally dig CB's style, but he still just sounds like a high school boy...need to grow some!
But as far as Usher is concerned, yes, the marriage did take some of the "mystique" away from his *** appeal, yet, he would have been ok if this fool would've UPDATED HIS STYLE! Your whole life is a show, and Usher is giving it away for free. We dont have to buy the album or go to the concert to get the Usher Raymond show. We can go to the internet or look in a magazine. If you wanna sell albums you have to give your audience the music and keep all that personal drama at home.

We had a discussion here in the office where I work. Most everyone here is or was an huge Usher fan and all of us buy his CD not bootlegs! No one went out and purchased his new CD... And-the-reason-???? His wife! He does not appeal to any of us anymore. I was so dissapointed with his performance on the BET Awards. It was horrible. I'm not sure what's happening here but he betta fix it fast! And firing his momma! That was wrong and he feeling it right now.

I think this is the esult of Usher putting more emphasis on proving he was happily married than promoting his record. All he did when he was on the promotion trail was try to clear up rumors about his married life (and brought more attention to the situation). Plus, he must have forgotten that at the end of the day, it's the fans that buy his records (THE ONES HE DISSED).
Now I'll admit that Usher's career has been slowing down. And he was dumb and downright stupid to fire his mother, not because she's his mother but because she was excellent at her job. He's still young and has a wonderful voice and if Mariah Carey's non-dancing *** can make a comeback with just her beautiful voice, then Usher surely can with his voice and his impressive danicing ability.
