: MediaTakeOut.com just got wind that a disturbing trend is going on in China before the Olympics. According to the South China Morning Post, the Chinese government has asked bar owners not to server any Black people.
Here's what they're reporting:
Bar owners near the Workers' Stadium in central Beijing say they have been forced by Public Security Bureau officials to sign pledges agreeing not to let black people enter their premises.Sometimes you just gotta shake your head ...."Uniformed Public Security Bureau officers came into the bar recently and told me not to serve black people or Mongolians," said the co-owner of a western-style bar, who asked not to be named.
Hey they have televisions, and I'm sure they watch some black people getting ignorant in clubs in America and don't want the same thing in their country. We all know that the mixture of: black men, alcohol, and women is an explosion waiting to happen. Sad, but true, I work in a club and have seen too many black men getting too possessive over a woman that's not even interested in them and starting fights. The Chinese don't want to bring the "hood" to the Olympics. Hey it is their country they can do as they please, and if you don't like it, don't go!
I wanted to go but never started planning and this isn't a trip you can just roll out on a whim. They do that stuff in the US when black based conventions come to an area. Businesses that are normally open are suddenly closed. I guess if it happens here I couldn't be completely surprised that it might be possible in China.
It's also possible that it's just a rumor being spread by Tibetan groups to get us to boycott the Olympics but I never figured there'd be a large number of us going to it anyway.
