: PHOENIX (AP) — Rapper DMX was arrested at a Phoenix mall Saturday on suspicion that he gave a gave a false name and Social Security number to a hospital to get out of paying for medical expenses.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said that when DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, went to Scottsdale's Mayo Clinic in April, he used the name "Troy Jones" and failed to pay a $7,500 bill.
DMX's Scottsdale attorney, Cameron Morgan, declined to comment.
Arpaio said his office began investigating the charge following an animal neglect investigation last year at the 37-year-old rapper's north Phoenix home. DMX was arrested in that case on felony drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges after authorities seized 12 pit bull dogs and dug up the remains of three others.
The musician/actor has had other recent run-ins with the law, including an arrest at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport earlier this month on outstanding warrants after he failed to appear in court.
The week before, he was arrested in Miami on charges of attempting to purchase cocaine and marijuana.
"He's back in jail again," Arpaio said. "I don't know why judges keep letting this guy out. Every time he goes in there, he gets out on bond.
"I'm hoping this is the one time he's going to pay the penalty for his offense," he added.
Arpaio said the bond had not been set in the recent arrest.
If DMX remains jailed, the sheriff said he would be isolated from the rest of the inmates for his own safety. "They may not like his music," he said.

I hate seeing my brothas and sistas addicted to drugs. It's an on going battle that very few survive. I pray for DMX. Obviously he isn't strong enough to get help. He's weak and always looking for that next fix. If he was in his right frame of mind, he would be ashamed of himself. May God have mercy on him.
it's obvious dude has some personal issues that he gotta sort out.....DMX had a messed up childhood and it's understandable why he got problems, but Dawg u got kids now, it's not about you no more.....Gotta do it for your kids......This dude was at the top of his game in the late 90's and now Geeez, hate to see a black man go through this.....not gone kick this brother while he's down......Hope he comes out of this...

WOW!! I don't know how to feel about this one. I hope someone can tap into X and help him understand what he is doing to his family, and get him to really see his mastery.
X underneath it all is a very sensitive person...we all deal with the ups and downs of life in differernt ways...

Well *** happens we all have gone through some *** one time or another throughout life in different ways. DMX and family I will continue to keep you in my prayers. I can't say anything because for one I've had drug addicts in my family and life known people in jail and have been there myself so I don't talk about others or say that *** will NEVER happen to me because it easily can I've been there
