As an aviator he would know ship locations, targets, tactics, communication prtocols, plus overall strategy,in other words everything the North Vietnamese could want on how the US Navy would fight. Pilots are the most valuable prisoners an enemy can get regardless of their rank.
Actually this isn’t new information…the fact that he participated in creating propaganda for the Vietcong has been known for quite some time. However, just like the woman interviewed implied the returnees where labeled “heroes” and what they did or didn’t do during their captivity wasn’t the subject of endless discussion. The “facts” surrounding his captivity are relevant mainly because he uses his past POW status and “hero” label for political gain…and…during the last presidential race, the taboo of attacking a so called “hero veteran” was erased during the “swift boating” of John Kerry. It stands as reasonable to conclude that if was ok to cover Kerry’s opposition to the Vietnam war after his return, and question the legitimacy of his medals…it’s equally reasonable to examine the military of a guy that claims military matters as his area of expertise and presents himself as the ultimate patriot.
Counterpunch.com also reported on this back in April. Of course CNN or FOX News will report these allegations. McCain was a snitch and a beyach for the Vietnamese. That's why he hates them. Just like a snitch, wants to be all upset now after they've exposed him for the coward he really is.

I'm not a McCain supporter but dayum, he WAS tortured. I don't think anybody held it against him that he couldn't hold out much longer than he did. 5 years as a POW, there probably wasn't anything on or in that man that wasn't "probed" until they got tired. Seriously, this isn't news. And yes, if it were Obama it would be blasted all over the news, this isn't new either. Everything Obama does is subjected to another level of scrutiny, not only do we know this but we come to expect this because of who he is. However, if he is half the man we hope him to be, such scrutiny is barely a blip on his screen because people in this country will be who they've always be, who their white hood wearing parents have always been. Let's not point out the obvious problems, and work on what will get him to the white house. Stay focused.
