Congrats to Kobe and Vanessa if the story is true. However, Kobe did make comments about black women being gold diggers. He made those comments while he and Vanessa dated (before they got married). I'm not a Kobe fan either! I'm arguing for every black man in America that is always guilty until proven guilty. I was accused of robbery before because I fit the description of the person that actually committed the robbery. And ironically, I was leaving school at the time the robbery was committed, trying to get some education to better myself. The old white man picked me out of a photo line up and everything. It wasn't until about 6 months later that they found out it wasn't me. The dude that actually did it was caught doing another one, and he confessed to the one I was accused of doing as well. As a black person, a woman, I wouldn't convict them on stereotypes. If I were that person, I would need to be told to "Give your own the benefit of the doubt" and rightfully so, but because I knew I wasn't convicting them "just because they're black men" I was ok with thinking they're guilty even til this day. Now other thoughts might've clouded my judgement (lol) but being black men wasn't one of them.
I get what you mean when you say they were acquitted and should be seen as innocent, but that really isn't the way the world works. The justice system is rigged. If you're rich, you can beat the case. If you're poor, you'll spend the rest of your life behind bars for a crime you didn't commit. So let's not look at the "rulings" of the "justice" system when we're trying to determine someones "guilt" or "innocence".

No one said ALL black men are guilty of everything they are charged of. It is a well known fact that Black folks get screwed in the system, period. And while I am sympathetic to your unfair ordeal as black man in our so-called justice system, that does not mean that every other person is just as innocent as YOU were.
And let's keep it real... RICH FOLKS (yes even black ones) sometimes get "pardoned" or "exused" when they know *** well they've likely done something wrong. Perhaps in the BEGINNING the *** was consensual, between Kobe and the young lady, but later he decided to flip the script, get things cracking "anally" (no pun intended). Again, I will have to disagree with you because you are implying that any woman that gets involved with a celebrity should "know what to expect". What ever happened to true love and RESPECT for your mate? When did it become ACCEPTIBLE for a man to treat his wife like *** just because he is a CELEBRITY? smdh. The fact remains that Kobe fell for her, felt she was worthy of wife material and preceded to MARRY her. When he took that big step, it should have been understood between the two of them that they would be faithful to each other. He is not "excused" from this resposibility because he is a RICH SUPER STAR.
I personally feel in our community, some of us take a LOT for granted, *** on people we suppossedly love, hurt folks that care for us and ignore the feelings of those that need us most. That is NOT what marriage should stand for whether you have money or not.

I'm not saying it's ok to cheat because you're a celebrity. I am saying being married to a celebrity comes with a cost. Yes it is a well known fact that most celebrities cheat! That is reality & any woman including me who marries a celeb & thinks he will be faithful or never step out atleast once is kidding herself. Like I said before infedelity comes with the territory. It is what it is! What ever happened to true love? I believe it exists. I also believe the presence of infedelity doesn't equal the abscence of love. Am I crazy enough to believe if I marry a celebrity he'll be faithful? Hell no!! I've been told by several female &male friends that I've managed to do something that most women can't or won't do when it comes to love... make decisions based on logic instead of emotion. When I learned to do that I started to see things for what they are. It's not QUESTION OF RIGHT OR WRONG, becasue you can;t make a man do right. It is about seeing,understanding and dealing with situations/things for what they are. I'm not saying it's Vanessa's fault or any womans fault that a man cheats, but come one we (women) need to pay attention to the men that we marry, and be REAL WITH OURSELVES.. Would you marry a man of Kobe's caliber in terms of celebrity & think he will remain faithful? My answer to that is hell no! atleast I wouldn't

I'm just saying babygirl, we are not privy to all the info presented in that case and people are convicting them without seeing all the evidence that was presented in court. There had to be something that went on in that case to convince that judge to drop charges or the jury to not convict. Let's not crucify these brothas because we "think" that they are guilty. No one can say that these people committed these crimes unless they were there. And since neither of us were, we can't say whether they did these things or not. So I say give them the benefit of doubt and say that they are indeed innocent! That's what the judicial system says. Why not go with that? Because of what you believe personally to be true?

And you are basing their guilt or innocence on what? What you read in the media or heard on the news? Those lawyers go through boxes and boxes of evidence before they take that $hit to trial. So do you think that you can get a brief synopsis of what happened and determine what happened in those cases? How do you know for sure that R Kelly is guilty? Did you see the tape? If so, than that means that you watch kiddy porn than right? So *** you be sitting in somebody's court room facing felony charges as well? And before you ask, Hell naw I didn't see the tape! NO, I did not see the tape. But for the record, "the tape" was on the streets, being peddled by bootleggers way before it was determined that there was probably a minor on it. So even though I did'nt personally see the tape, I doubt seriously that the thousands of naive folks who bought it BEFORE THE FACT are child molesters or kiddie pornographers.
Just like I said. I feel the nucca is guilty and I don't have to be in the same room to watch him p*ss on and f*ck some little girl to think so! So yes, a sick perverted monster can get off if everything is not followed through coirrectly.
And while I followed the proceedings of the most recent trial, it was confirmed that MANY of the jurors felt it was indeed "R-rah" on the tape doing some foul sh*t, but since the victim was afraid to show her face in court they couldnt "legally" convict the man.
I understand their reasoning, but just because he got off does not mean he DIDN'T do it (just like you said earlier, you're not always guilty when charged either... But please believe, it works BOTH ways). All these kats hollering they didnt do anything are not automatically innocent.

Every person has a limit. Every person has that breaking point. For another to say, "I can't deal with this sh*t", doesn't make them irrational, emotional or "less logical" than the next person. They have a right to seek what they percieve as right and fair for themselves and to tell a mofo to KICK ROCKS when need be.
To say that "all celebrities cheat" is a defeatist attitude and self-fulfilling prophecy. If you go into a relationship BELIEVING you are about to get straight dogged...then chances are you probably will!
As far as the mantra, "cheating does not equal absence of love" goes, then the flip would also be true: "just cause I LEAVE the relationship based on repeat infidelity does not mean I don't love you either". lol. I just love ME more!

at first, I thought she was just a gold digger, but I think this woman really loves him, it is not our buisness anyways, but at least he married her and he is trying to be a really good husband, not to say he was not wrong, but everyone here has problems, at least Kobe is confronting them and working on them and that means more than pretending to be perfect, hopefully he gets his little son, and if Vanessa did not love him , she could close up shop and get half, she is really supporting her man, and they have a stronger relationship than probably more non famous people.....
