First off, this woman..is just that, a woman and not an object, possession or a prize. It hurts my soul, that she doesn't know that and our people will not allow her to be anything other than that. She is a beautiful young woman, with talent. I went to her myspace page just like you all and see that she is a real living and breathing PERSON, not a side show attraction, who lives, breathes, loves and writes and one day maybe a respectable writer. Sadly, no one will notice that or take her seriously, because she doesn't take herself seriously and doesn't expect anyone else to do so.
Let's take a trip back in time......
Black women, deriving from African slaves, have always looked like this, as well as being slim and slender..large and small breasts, full and flat behinds.
These full women with the full thighs, behinds and breasts were the first to be auctioned off on the slave auctioning blocks, because of their thickness. These women were eyed and oogled by white men from states around, not because they had strong backs for picking cotton, but sturdy hips for raping.
This woman is not an oddity or chattle.
She is not a piece of commerce.
She is a living human being who doesn't know her history and the reasons why she is shaped like this and how to cherish this and not provocatively flaunt it just so she can be accepted and loved by our own men.
Whew..jesus, this hurts me so bad.
This baby wants love and acceptance.
Most of our men just want to.... ...(pardon me for stealing Jill Scott's line from "The Thickness")
Most men just want to nut up in her gut...with them big ole thighs and big ole ***.
We haven't taught this baby, because yes, thats what she still is..a baby, to love herself because of her essence and who she is and that love her men and her men love her because she is a beautiful , sensitive, intelligent, mother of earth, cradle of civilization, the giver of our God and the deliver of our messiah.
We have to relearn our culture and we have to relearn our history and remember that we are beginners and creator of this earth.
Tell this woman what she is...a woman
Treat this woman as what she is....a woman
I'm praying for our black people and people of color that we will realize our divinity and stop treating ourselves the way someone else wants us to be, because they are furious that they cannot be us anymore.
