Sorry, I love me some Mary but I remember seeing MJB at the skating rink on UTICA in BRKLYN when she first started and honestly y'all know she JUST got her skills on point on the MARY album. Prior to that she sounded like a drugged-out screaching harpy and live she was just a mess- OF COURSE I LOVE HER...but for a long time she was riding on tight tracks and "studio produced" harmonies and guest cameos. She cleaned up so she could reach her potential...but she started off ROUGH.

This is a pretty good first attempt. He's a talented musician and song writer but I guess he should have tried to be as "gangsta" as he's not for "the children". There is more than one genre of music- explore something different and take the glass off the ceiling and turn down that busted bass. Give things a try before you count them out...that's why black folks miss out on so much.

I was there yesterday at the J&R Music Fest and I was surprised when they announced Terrance Howard is coming out to perform.

He sang 3 songs and one of them he wrote and dedicated to SEAL and Heidi Klum's marriage. At first when he came out I was like "Oh kay preachy and a bit corny" but after watching him for about an hour and a half he was not bad. I give him mad props for coming out on the endearing tip and performing in front of a crowd of mostly young minorities expecting "Whoop That Trick"..lol. ***,...someone even *** out for him to sing that and he was like "naw man not today".

I have more respect for him now for showing us something else that he can attempt to do.
