: JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) — A white farmer who threw the body of his fired black worker into a lions' pen has been freed on parole after less than three years in prison.
The case drew worldwide attention and impassioned protests from demonstrators who saw the killing as another racial attack in a country still grappling with its apartheid past.
Mark Scott-Crossley was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2005 for assaulting Nelson Chisale, a former employee, and throwing his body to lions at his game farm who devoured him. The Supreme Court of Appeal reduced the sentence to five years, saying there was no proof Chisale had been alive when he was fed to the animals.
According to trial testimony, Chisale had been fired from Scott-Crossley's construction business at the game farm and returned two months later to collect his belongings. When he did, he was attacked with machetes and tied to a stake, where he was left bleeding for six or seven hours before being thrown into a lion enclosure.
Only Chisale's skull and some gnawed bones and bloody clothing were found.
Another farm worker was sentenced to 15 years for carrying out the assault, but the trial judge said Scott-Crossley was the mastermind.
The Confederation of South African Trade Unions slammed his release. "It is clear that those who are rich and white will continue to be treated differently to those who are poor," it said.
COSATU criticized the fact that the Supreme Court had indicated that Chisale was dead before he was thrown to the lions, but did not rule on who killed him.
A prison official, Sarie Peens, was quoted as telling the South African Press Association that Scott-Crossley was moved from Baberton Prison and taken to a "reintegration" office where he was met by his family Thursday.
The report did not give a reason for his early release. It is common in South Africa for convicts to be freed early to ease prison overcrowding.
"He is now being placed under strict conditions on parole until completion of his sentence," SAPA quoted Peens as saying.

Ruth was a Moabitess who grew up worshipping idols - not a promising start. But after to turning to serve the true God, she became part of the ancestry of King David and our Lord Jesus (See Mt 1:5). Zacchaeus, a well known embezzler, hosted Jesus *** in his home and ended up becoming a philanthropist. And how about Paul? Killing Christians didn't put him off limits to God. As an apostle he wrote over half of the New Testament by divine revelation, was taken into heaven where he saw incredible things (See 2Co 12:1-4), and when aprons and handkerchiefs taken from his body were placed on the sick they were healed (See Ac 19:11-12). Now, if God could do all that for "people with a past," He can give you a new beginning too!

The whole slave trade system was supposed to be one of indentured servitude of ANY race(you know kinda like a live in maid) and those sold into this from Africa were captured POW's of another tribe. They weren't just going around the village and selling their family members. They were selling their enemy regardless of race. If they captured a white man then he too would have been up for sale. Got it? This was a business catered to those looking for labor.
Now when you figure in the racial aspect of it, that was completely white/spanish driven. The MISTREATMENT of the indentured servent turned SLAVE is what made the Africans discontinue their trade agreements with whites and spanish. However, this had turned too profitable for them so they in turn started STEALING Africans and only cared that they were Black. Meaning they stole royalty wading in water, wives of warriors, children walking back to their home with a yam. This is where the true injustice lies.
Also Darfur's war is one fueled by religious differences and it was the muslim Arabs who got that going.

However, once we digressed from indentured servent to slave, our fathers STILL SOLD OUR AZZES out and that is a tremendous injustice. My whole point is that there is blame everywhere regarding slavery from the European to the Black man. I was off about Darfur but hell look in our own communities sister, things aren't that different. Blacks killing, ***, and tearing down their own fellow black man while YT in the meantime concoct LAWS and pass mandates that will undermine the black man's progress in this country. So we as black folks are not absolved of any blame. There is an accountablity issue that we have to deal with first before we can even take on our issues with YT.

I don't understand...Blacks moved from indentured servent to SLAVE AFTER being removed from Africa. I was fortunate to meet a king from Western Africa who was basically touring the states making apologies for Africans involvement in the slave trade. He shed light on alot!
We are quick to demonize the Africans for their part in it, but if these same shady people never let on to their racism how would they have known what true torturous treatment their POW's would have received. The Africans didn't think the white man would mistreat these people just because of the color of their skin. That is not how they operate and that is not how they thought others operated. It was more about clashings of thought moreso than jealousy of superior physicality with Africans.
We need to separate FIRST then tackle our problems within the race...problems that were precipitated and made worse by envious sneaky 'observers'.

Yes I received a letter in the mail about Kroger’s paying back African Americans for race discrimination. I am one of those blacks who worked a Kroger’s a long time ago and the letter told me I happen to be one of the African Americans who qualified to receive money. Racism is still alive in 2008!!!
