: RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Most of former professional wrestler Ric Flair's fights were scripted. But Chapel Hill, N.C., police didn't find anything fake about the blood and bruises on the Nature Boy after a fight with his daughter's 22-year-old boyfriend.
Neither man was charged, but Flair's daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr, was charged for resisting police after the 22-year-old became belligerent and kicked an officer, Chapel Hill police Lt. Kevin Gunter said Tuesday.
Neighbors called police about 2:30 a.m. Friday about a fight at an apartment in the city about 30 miles northwest of Raleigh. The fight was over, but officers followed a trail of blood to Fliehr's apartment.
She told police the men had fought but it was over and things were fine. Officers found the 59-year-old Flair, whose real name is Richard Fliehr, on a bed in the back room. The boyfriend was in another part of the apartment.
Flair admitted fighting with the boyfriend but he didn't want to press charges, Gunter said. Gunter refused to give the boyfriend's name because he was not charged.
"He was kind of elusive," Gunter said of Flair. "He said everything was fine. Officers said he had a 'no problems here' kind of attitude. He just wanted everything forgotten."
Flair, known for his platinum blond hair, fur-lined robes and signature "Wooooo!" catchphrase, retired earlier this year after a 36-year career. He had wrestled for a number of big-name organizations, including World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment.
A call to a cell number listed for Flair to obtain comment was not answered Tuesday. Officials at The Gillespie Agency, based in Columbia, S.C., said they only book Flair for appearances. His daughter did not have a listed number.
***, Ric! The Nature Boy was the MAN back in the day....He was on some straight mack *** telling chicks he would take them for a ride on Space Mountain....lol.
As for the fight...Ric is a 60 year old man with alcohol issues and a banged up body from wrestling all these years...Its no accomplishment that a 20 year old beat up an unhealthy man 40 years his senior.
WOOOOOOOO!
For you folks saying wrestling is fake. It's predetermined and a work. there's a BIG difference. It's very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. You crack on wrestling, ( espeically some of you ladies but some other I see were/are fans :) yet you get so into stuff involving reality tv shows like "I love new york" and "Flava of Love" yet that stuff is so past make believe and a work it's not evenfunny
Yeah, I read about this yesterday. It sounds like they had some tension that just boiled over.
But, should've come to this. You have to try your best to respect your girls father, and as a father, you should try your best to respect who your adult daughter choices. Even if she is wrong, and as long as its not hurting you.

Details are still sketchy regarding a fight and its aftermath which led to the arrest of Ashley Fliehr, Ric Flair’s 22-year-old daughter, after an altercation with police. This came after a fight where Ric Flair was left bloodied and bruised, with one of the nastiest black eyes you would ever see.
Flair’s left eye looked significantly worse than any of the fighters at the weekend UFC after a fight, which police believe took place outside of the Sunstone Apartments, a complex in Chapel Hill, NC, while other sources say it took place earlier that *** at a sports bar in the city. News reports have stated the fight involved both his daughter and Ashley’s 22-year-old boyfriend, but Chapel Hill police Lt. Kevin Gunter denied media reports Ashley attacked her father, but the police believe the boyfriend did it. Other sources claim it was two unknown assailants at a local sports bar, and that Ashley, known for having a hot temper, did get involved, but it was to defend her father, but that the boyfriend had no involvement.
Chapel Hill police said Ashley Fliehr was charged with two misdemeanor charges, assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest, as well as obstruction of an investigation. She has a hearing scheduled on 10/6.
Fliehr, a former volleyball player at Appalachian State University who has been shown in the front row at many WWE televised events in the Carolinas, allegedly kicked an officer in the leg after she was charged with obstruction of an investigation, and it was reported that a taser gun was used to subdue her. All accounts from various sources we’ve spoken with on this situation are consistent with this aspect of the story.
Ashley Fliehr, who now attends North Carolina State, and her boyfriend, who attends the University of North Carolina, live together in the apartment.
Ric, his daughter, her boyfriend, and a fourth person were out earlier that evening at a local sports bar to watch the Vanderbilt vs. South Carolina football game on television. According to other sources, two guys at the bar were talking wrestling with Flair and Flair, after being at first accommodating, said he was out with family and wanted to spend time with them. One of the guys mouthed off about him thinking he was too good for his fans.
According to that version, a fight broke out with Ric at first being hit with a glass or a bottle and being cut in the back of the head before being punched in the face by the other person. Police were never called because Ric, who was friends with the owner of the sports bar, asked them not to, saying he didn’t want any publicity on the matter. All four then left the bar to head to the apartment.
According to Gunter of the Chapel Hill police department, concerned neighbors called the department at 2:30 a.m. on the *** on 9/4 (technically the morning of 9/5) saying there was a fight going on in the parking lot of the apartment complex located about a mile-and-a-half from the University of North Carolina campus.
When the police arrived, there was nobody in the parking lot. However, they found a trail of blood that led them to one of the apartments, and knocked on the door. Ashley answered the door and her boyfriend then came out.
According to the police report, the two gave the officers the runaround, and weren’t forthcoming, and gave no indication anyone else was in the apartment. But the officers spotted blood leading to the bedroom, and when they opened the door, they found Ric sitting on the bed with several cuts on his face and his left eye starting to swell badly. Ric downplayed everything, saying he was fine, and refused any medical attention even though the officers believed he needed to be checked. As police were asking questions, the report said that Ashley lost her temper and began interfering with the investigation, but at one point said her father and her boyfriend fought, but it was over. After being charged with obstructing an investigation, she lost her temper and the police report said she kicked one of the officers in the leg.
The evidence gathered indicated the injuries were caused by a punch or series of punches, which police believe were from the boyfriend. Exactly what they would have been fighting over and whether it was a fight, a sucker punch, or whatever, the police could not determine because nobody would talk about it, with Ric just saying he considered as a private matter. The boyfriend’s name was not released because in the report he is listed as a suspect and could face charges, but the case is expected to go nowhere because of Ric’s refusal to press charges. Another officer claimed the boyfriend was also slightly injured, and the Raleigh News & Observer reported that the boyfriend was also bruised and bloody, although other stories have disputed that.
“Everybody had been drinking and they didn’t appear that happy to see the police,” said Chapel Hill police captain Chris Blue. “It sounds like they had a pretty good dust-up.”
The police said Ric admitted fighting with the boyfriend, although Ric told close friends it didn’t happen at all like that, and joked that the boyfriend didn’t jump in when he was attacked, but rather than be mad, said it was probably the smartest thing to do in the situation.
Flair was out over the weekend with his son Reid at a *** club opening and photos were taken of him that appeared on the tmz.com web site showing his left eye looking brutalized. Flair isn’t computer savvy and still from the era that as long as nobody from the local newspaper or TV station *** him in that condition, and being friends with so many in the Charlotte media that they wouldn’t embarrass him, likely didn’t realize how going out looking like that in today’s TMZ environment and being a celebrity made it a lock a photo of him in that condition would be seen by millions.
Ric himself tried to downplay the incident to friends, and described it as a minor thing. Since Flair has a number of major money deals in negotiations, it is believed he didn’t want to be involved in anything that would lead to negative press, which is why he didn’t press charges.
