: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that earlier today rapper Kanye West and his assistant were arrested for vandalism. According to TMZ, the platinum selling rapper asked one of the photographers to stop filming him while at LAX airport in Los Anegels. And that's when things went left.
Here's how TMZ describes what popped off:
[The Cameraman named Erik] noticed a still photog taking several pictures of Kanye West. Erik says West rushed the photog and grabbed his camera. A struggle ensued and the still guy was screaming, "Police, Help!" Erik says Kanye then took the still camera and threw it on the ground, breaking it into pieces.Kanye and his assistant have reportedly been arrested and booked for vandalism. We'll post the tape as soon as we can...Erik then went over to Kanye, his camera rolling, when Kanye's assistant walked up to him, realized Erik was taping, and said, "Give me the camera, give me the camera." Erik responded that he had a press pass and had a right to shoot. The assistant then gabbed the camera, ripped off the mic and viewfinder and then grabbed the cam and smashed it to the ground.
Erik says Kanye then tried to leave to board his plane, but cops stopped him before he got to security. The cops then interviewed Erik, the still photog, Kanye and his assistant..
This is where it gets crazy. The cops asked Erik if he videotaped the incident and Erik said he had. That's when Kanye lunged toward him and said, "Give me the fu***ng videotape." Cops had to restrain Kanye as he tried coming at Erik.
It's the anniversary of 9/11! You'd think people would try to keep it peaceful. And celebrities have NO expectation of privacy..it's called being FAMOUS, duh! I think it sucks it's that way, but it is what it is. He can be hard headed and volatile and they can invade his privacy. Kayne is a good dude though that has been doing a lot for vets and people down on their luck - seen that show on MTV w/ him and Sway? He is a good person and got out of line...as the poster above said, it happens. And LMAO @ why so many ***! I have wondered the same...

*** Kanye! Is it that serious?? I used to love me some Kanye, but he is falling off in more ways than one. And I don't appreciate how all of the sudden, sistas aint *** to him....he all up in blondie's face now. How soon he forgot, huh?
He better watch it before he gets his *** *** locked up for a long time. When you "signed up" for this business, you knew that there would be papparazzi all in your lap, trying to photograph your every move. But when you were broke and nameless, you would have given anything for somebody to recognize you at the airport and for anybody to try to get a pic of you. If you're so sick of it Kanye, quit rapping (or whatever the hell he calls himself doing now) work at a Burger King in West Virginia, and give up all of your millions to charity...and eventually, your fame will die down...and ultimately the paps will leave you alone after awhile. Problem solved.

I believe it but I think it is more to it than just that. Cause hesees paparrizzi all the time. They always takin pics of him and probably hides in bushes and *** like that. A lot of you are acting like this is something new! A whole parade of actors and actresses in Hollywierd have gone straigih ballistic over these paparazzi and camera guys.Brad Pitt, Jack Nicholson, Julia Roberts, George Clooney,and Mel Gibson, i recall either attact the camera, the camera man , or one of their cars. I do not remember them being led away in handcuffs. This just very well may be an injustice to Kanye,or at most an example of a black celebrity being singled out for an indescretion that many others are guity of. This is wrong in so many ways!
good. i hate these celebrities who grab cameras and break them when they are on public property. than when they have an album coming out, they beg for the medias attention.
kanye was out of line and he should have been arrested and should pay for the broken camera. if he dont like the downsides of fame than stop seeking it.

i agree look at the 00.04 mark. the pap is looking into the camera like he was trying to make sure he got a good *** then all of a sudden he starts yelping "police, police" in an oh so fake way. you can tell the whole thing was staged and the pap was doing some good acting. look at the 4 second mark...lol
They should make these people with these cameras illegal! They are getting out of line and setting people up to sue them! The Camera Man should have been *** in the face! I was about to say that an arrest was extreme for the icident described - until I saw the tape. He should have been detained and charged with destruction of property; disturbing the peace; and littering. A fine is definitely in order here.
Kanye was very upset for some reason. The way he was dressed you couldn't recognize him anyway.
He definitely went overboard on the camera.
Some of these guys need better assistants. The assistant should have trying to neutralize the situation not join the beatdown on the poor camera.

It's hard not to snap on paparazzi. The flashin' lights can be very annoying especially on a bad day. These people get paid thousands of dollars to get a rise outta people. When you become famous, you simply have to learn how to deal with camera people everywhere. What paparazzi do isn’t illegal but it's illegal to attack them. The price of fame isn't really worth it!!!
poor kanye..lately it just seems like he's really going through something...entertaining is a job just like anything else but what if he just wanted down time..nobody feels like being filmes all the time...it's ok to respect people's privacy sometimes..just give him a break right now...he is probbably still mourning..usually his mom is right there with him..come on now?
Please Kanye is human. And the last time I checked where I come from, if your going through some stressful times and some stranger walkes up to you and start taking pics and filming you without getting your consent. That's more than getting a camera broken, that's a beatdown. Kanye got bail money, he'll be cool.
This is an interesting story it brings up the right to privacy of so called celebrities. The truth of the matter is so called celebrities have no reasonable expectation of privacy in this country outside of their homes. Otherwise our jails would be filled with paparazzo not so-called drug dealers and other assorted so-called criminals. Kanye was just on some flip out ish he prolly should have kept his cool unless he feels he needed the publicity.
Kanye always had that weird look in his eye to me, like he might be missing a few buttons. And he looks truly crazy in that video where him and his so-called body guard is telling the photographer to turn his video off or there will be some problems. Looks like Kanye may be doing some time soon. That will give him something new to write about.

What did he say about 9/11 because Kanye came on the scene after the 9/11 attacks and never made comment when it was going on. Please enlighten me because you are looking like a real *** right now. Kanye was in a car crash in 2002 and released his 1st album after that.

If it was just taking a picture fine but now they have camcorders and make disrespectful, rude commens so that they can get a "reaction" Being famous doesn't mean you are not entitled to common courtesy, you're still human.
