: Industry insiders were shocked to see a Marshall's notice on the offices of The Source Magazine. Initially MediaTakeOut.com thought that the notice could mean trouble, but we were assured by a rep for the magazine that everything is going according to plans.
Here's the official word:
The new Source is relocating its offices. The prior office was the premises leased by former owners of The Source with its former staff who are all no longer with the Source. And that property relates to a prior lease. And it looks like new state-of-the-art facilities are going around. MediaTakeOut.com just learned that former Source owners Dave Mays and Ray Benzino are announcing the opening of a brand new state of the art facility for the Miami based magazine - Hip Hop Weekly. We wanted an entirely new and fresh start!! The Source with new ownership is relocating to a brand new and modern state of the art facility in the very same building with the same landlord. We entered into a new long-term lease and we have a good relationship with the landlord.
The old Source is no more. We are not a part of prior ownership whatsoever. There is a new era at The Source. We have a new office, new staff, new design and a new flow.
And they say there's trouble in the magazine industry...
EDITOR'S NOTE - The story was changed from an earlier version.
never cared for source- or ever bought a magazine- but whenever i did see it- it was always just so "hood"... Definitely only geared to mostly street hood cats and maybe many of the hood rats- cats..sorry- couldnt keep up and afford enough of the issues.. Sorry just everything with source - was just GHETTO...but they had a good run
