Honestly, I think Rihanna is a beautiful girl and she has a lot of international appeal. She is a star and no one can take that away from her. However, Beyonce is the absolute real deal, even with all the drama. Women like her just get out and get what they want. She can sing, dance, and despite what people think about her acting skills, she's growing in that area. It seems like she is ALWAYS working while Rihanna and Chris Brown are spending money, shopping, and playing house. All and all, Beyonce has the REAL staying power. To me, quality is more important than quantity. The number of record sales does not constitute a great artist. It's all about the quality of their work.
For instance, Mary J's music is quality, and has been for over 15 years. She earned her title as the Queen of Hip Hop Soul, and that title ain't going away. No, she doesn't have the record sales of a Beyonce or Rihanna, or even Mariah Carey for that matter. But she is still a quality artist who cares more about making good music than about warping her image around and trying to be Miss Do It All. Mary is true to herself and her music, and that's why she's my fave. Alot of these youngstas could stand to learn from her.
So Rhi Rhi better enjoy the spotlight while it's lasting. Because if not already, people will be tired of her and will be looking for the new 'it' girl. It happened to Bey, so it can easily happen to her. It's a never ending cycle.
