: Last year actor Terrence Howard had the biggest role of his acting career - starring in the Blockbuster hit Iron Man. Well MediaTakeOut.com is now hearing that he LOST the role to Don Cheadle.

Marvel Studios has hired Don Cheadle to replace Terrence Howard in the upcoming Iron Man sequel. Cheadle will play Jim Rhodes, Tony Stark’s best friend and future War Machine. Director Jon Favreau has made numerous hints that War Machine may play a part in the second film.Terrence, it's a recession, bruh ... Now ain't the time to get greedy...The Hollywood Reporter’s sources claim it was a conflict due to financial differences. Earlier this year it was widely speculated that Marvel was trying to low ball Favreau with an offer not much higher than his initial payday for the first film. It is not unusual for salaries to double for a sequel, especially when the first film outperformed to the level that Iron Man had.
But from what I understand, Marvel believes the superhero characters themselves are the real stars, and many believe they are being very thrifty in their negotiations for their future projects.

Maybe my coffee hasn't kicked in yet, but where does it say Terrence wanted more money? I think they replaced him because they wanted to, honestly...Don is the better actor and now that the movie was such a hit, they're trimming the edges...That character will be completely different with Don...Terrence just plain got fired, yall...
terrence didn't get the role cause his d-d-*** is too small. for real, check out all of his movies (can't 'member which 1)but you will see his package (size: 5 years old) in one scene where he lines up against the wall naked and a fight breaks out! I was very very very dishappointed terrinshe. Anyway, cheadley is literally a beast. so, congrats blah blah blah
From what I am reading from some bloggers, I can't believe that some people think that Mr. Howard is being greedy, Robert Downy Jr. is a talented actor but remember Terrence has the Oscar, Just like Jamie Foxx for getting the Oscar for Ray; then turn around and play tubbs on Miami Vice.
I know times are hard for black actors and actress but I wish more black actors will speak out toward Hollywood for the bias that they go through, Like Don Cheadle movie Tratior, It wasn't wide spread because the hero was black. For the works Don have done in the past he is due for a Oscar as well.
So for the ones who think that Terrence was being greedy; no he was just trying to get his just due for being the type of actor he is.

Ya well RDJ is probably getting this big ol paycheck and he ain't getting sh!t! All that money that movie made? And they dropped him because he wanted more? And replaced him with Don Cheadle? If he was white he would get the money. And you know Hollywood is racist. Won't really matter to me because his voice annoys me anyway. So I'd be open to see what Don Cheadle does.
Terrance Howard is a good actor but not a Denzil yet. Sometimes U have to be humble and take what U can get.
He was in a franchise movie and got greedy now he lost it.
Don is more humble and an excellent actor and is very underated. Because he is not as good looking as Terrance. But sometimes real talent wins as in ths case.
Terrance Howard is not as great an actor as he thinks he is. He cannot transcend into other characters. I always see the same person movie to movie. He has a very unlikeable persona. Maybe he should hope for a PRIDE II. Oops that won't be happening or maybe Best Man II. Ooops that won't be happening either. He sucks eggs majorly.

@THEBROKENSILENCE...I DISAGREE, REMEMBER THE FIRST BATMAN, I KNOW IT WAS THE LEAD ROLE BUT MICHEAL KEATON WAS IN THE FIRST 2, AND WHEN IT CAME TIME TO DO THE 3RD MOVIE, HE ASKED FOR MORE MONEY AND THEY LET HIM GO......SO TERRENCE PROBABLY DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY HE MAY HAVE ASKED FOR.

I've always said that the best parts of the movie was when he was Tony Starks and making all those smart ***, arrogant comments.
But, the studio is kinda right, the stars of the superhero movies have always been replacable. They redid The Hulk with a whole new cast. 4 different people have played Batman.
But, ***, I was looking foward to seeing him play War Machine. I like Don Cheadle in the more dramatic roles, but I thought Terrence Howard would come across better as a superhero.
Oh well, congrats Don.

All I see here is MTO saying that's why he was replaced. The money talk in the article was between MARVEL COMICS BEING GREEDY and the DIRECTOR- Farveau WANTING MORE MONEY. How does this equate to Terrance Howard being replaced because he was asking for more money?
