: O.K. Beyonce has an interesting new marketing ploy for her new album I Am. MediaTakeOut.com has learned that Beyonce's new album will be a 2 disc compilation - one called "I Am Beyonce" - which features ballads. And the other, entitled "I Am Sasha" which has more dance tracks.
And it gets even more interesting. MediaTakeOut.com also caught wind that Bey's launched a new site called Who Is Sasha Fierce which will profile Beyonce's alter ego Sasha.

That's what happens when you loose sight of the grind. When you think you're an icon after 2 solo albums and you have some rich guy proclaiming you're the hottest in the game, one gets blinded and forgets there are others. This will be a true test because other female artists are out at the same time, so there's this needed competition.
If the first two songs are indicative of the album, then I'll pass.
And the "Single Ladies" video and choreography was taken from some Fosse joint called "Mexican Breakfast" as reported on D listed's site. And to me, the song's rythm sounds too close to "Get Me Bodied".
This chick is not original and I think she had soo much potential doing mature music but she keeps trying to cater to the teeny bopper crowd and I cant mess with it. I know she has alot of very young fans so I guess thats who she targets. I honestly dont know older heads who can tolerate her music too much unless its a "DIL" or "Me, Myself and I" type of joint. That "Mexican Breakfast" video is the oddest thing I've ever seen! What I like about Beyonce is, she takes music back to the good old hip hop days when music actually had a message.

Beyonce's 'Stolen' New Hit Record
Last week, I raved and raved about Beyonce’s new single, "If I Were a Boy." Remember? I thought it was the best thing she’d ever done, and was amazed that she’d even found the material.
Well, guess what? The story behind "If I Were a Boy" is absolutely scandalous. It also explains my question of why this single missed the Grammy deadline of Sept. 30, since it was ready to go at least three weeks ago. The answer: it was held up by endless legal wrangling since, in the long hallowed tradition of the music business, the young woman who wrote the melody and lyrics for "If I Were a Boy" had no idea Beyonce had even recorded her song until a stranger called with the news. By then, it was too late.
BC Jean is a hot, up-and-coming, 21-year-old female singer songwriter from San Diego. Those who’ve met her says she’s smart and "gorgeous." But BC (her initials, legend has it, are for "beautiful child") got a cold dose of reality this summer when it comes to the record business. According to sources, she and her manager/mother have been strong-armed by Beyonce’s people and others who saw gold in "If I Were a Boy" and didn’t care how they got it.
You can hear BC Jean’s version of her own song, written with German pop-factory producer Toby Gad, at www.bcjean.net. It’s certainly as good as Beyonce’s if not better. It’s no wonder that this young woman is now the center of so much attention.
Altogether, I am told, BC Jean wrote and recorded about a dozen songs with Gad for an album the producer was planning to make of his own. When the deal fell apart, Gad — whose 300 plus credits are all co-written, never solo — took the songs and started marketing them to big name, established artists. Gad’s past "collaborators" include Fergie, on "Big Girls Don’t Cry."
Besides Beyonce, Gad brought at least one of the songs to Disney for "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus. But Disney wanted the lyrics changed to be age-appropriate. BC Jean refused. For now, Miley and Gad have been rebuffed.
When I wrote about Beyonce’s version of "If I Were a Boy" last week, calls came pouring in from people who knew the real history of this story. BC Jean’s mother/manager, Lori Carlson, told me she couldn’t comment on the situation. But plenty of people knew the saga of Beyonce’s legendary manager/father Mathew Knowles’ aggressive pursuit of the publishing rights to the potential hit record. His goal was to get the rights to the song and to put Beyonce’s name on the writing credits.
The Carlsons, I’m told, recently came to terms with Beyonce, after enduring the kind of record biz terrors that would curl the hair of the guys from "Hit Men." Now, "If I Were a Boy" is hitting big time. Part of the deal, my sources insist, is that the two singers will duet on BC Jean’s debut album once she gets her own recording deal. Right now, managers, publishers and A&R people from all over the industry are falling over themselves trying to sign BC Jean. They should be. She seems to be the real deal, a potential artist with a big career looming in front of her. It’s a shame that this is the way she had to find out about the record business.

I have read most of the comments here on Beyonce and while some of you have a point..others are just comical. First, I can say that Beyonce is an entertainer and she knows how to grab an audience...she can dance, sing, and is also a beautiful woman. Looking back at Beyonce from when she first went solo to now, she has definitely matured but her music is all the same...just up to date with the year. When I first heard "Single Ladies: Put A Ring On It", i thought...okay she's married now so she wanna talk about put a ring on it...loll. Her other single "If I Were A Boy" is a great song, but it's not hers. Like I said she is talent...but she is not original, she has followed behind Shakira, Tina Turner, Kylie Minogue, Kelis, and others that I may fail to name...and I think Beyonce really says to herself "I can do that too" and she runs with it. This alter ego that she named "Sasha" is truly a spirit and to me...that's somehwhat scary. This woman has said in multiple interviews that when she is on stage she like a whole different person and she's fearless and when she's living her everyday life off stage she is so shy and quiet. Beyonce is also marketable and she is just making her money like everyone else. When I hear Beyonce's music, i don't think to myself "wow, this really means something" or have me thinking real deep into it...her songs are simple with a catchy beat, but like i said...she entertains you and that's why so many like her because she doesn't stand there with a mic in her hand looking pretty..."Sasha" gets the best of her and put on a show. As far as her acting...**yawns** but i can tolerate it...loll.

It does sound similar to TI's ti vs tip album concept because of the whole alter ego thing-half the album was ti & the other was tip. the concept for her song "if I were a boy" sounds similar to ciara's "like a boy" but I like beyonce's video and lyrics better. I wish there was more originality nowadays. you see a lot of the same ideas. do your thing anyway, beyonce!
and although I don't particularly care for rihanna's singing voice, her style is different. she doesn't do what everybody else does. I don't think beyonce is original because a lot of the things she's done have already been done. she is a great performer and entertainer though. I like her better when she was in destiny's child (I love dc!). she seemed to be more down-to-earth and real.

But the thing is, everyone copies off someone. I'm almost postive that T.I. isn't the 1st artist to have an alter echo and Ciara isn't the 1st artists who switched gender roles. It's very rare to find someone who's 100% original because everyone take bits and pieces of different styles and make it their own, and that's what Beyonce usually does.

Yeah, I agree, these artist cater to a younger crowd these days. That's strong point that Tina and company didn't have anyone before them, so they had to come from scratch.
I also agree that we hate on each other so hard it's not funny, actually it's quite sad. I never hated on people when I was in the hood and saw people in the burbs with more material things than me, because I still looked at us as the same, and with hard work I could have the same.
I think it comes from people giving up on themselves, and not working with what they have to make the best possible life for themselves. it's easier to try to make other people unhappy with their life, even if it's just for a minute, the pain haters caused, felt good to them in a twisted kind of way!
After hearing 'If I Were A Boy' and 'Single Ladies', both songs could stand to use a remix.
Beyonce is smart with the double CD: Not because of the alter ego deal, but because each CD would target a different audience. 'I Am Beyonce' would seem to target the pop audience (aka the audience that Rhi Rhi has), whereas 'I Am Sasha' would more target the hip hop audience. Double the CD, double the buying audience.....

@Poppin you are so right...I definitely agree...I don't like all of Bey's music and alot of these artists...But to take it to a personal level is something I don't even feel comfortable doing...They worked diligently for theirs...While most teens or kids were out having fun and doing kiddie or teen stuff, that girl was out trying to form a successful group and participating in talent shows and whatnot...
I know what I have and what I can get in my life, so I don't get envious of someone else's success...They worked hard whether you want to admit it or not...Puffy isn't my favorite person these days but something he said several years back sticks with me til this day...And that was the fact that when he was younger, he used to envy the other kids who had pools and they couldn't afford them...His mother then told him not to ever envy someone else and that with hard work, he could have all of that too...

You are absolutely right...but the difference between her music and my hair cut is that i don't strive or build off anyone...its my own. You may have seen have my haircut before and that's cool, but it's clearly my own and never copied off anyone *** people that kno me kno that true quality about me.
I will never take credit from Beyonce as an entertainer...the girl is very talented. But we have seen it before and like i said in my last comment, she making her money like everyone else. Her new tune for the "single ladies" has no meaning to me, but it is catchy and that's what most like...so that's all good. =)
