I never really cared for Dave Chapelle...His use of the *** word and his portryal of Blacks on Comedy Central and whatnot was a huge turnoff to me...
I was working with this White dude who was an aspiring movie director(I was taking up acting classes) and dude mentioned Dave to me...I didn't even know who he was but since dude obviously thought he was sooo funny, I decided to tune in to his show one ***...I was embarrassed to say the least...I never gave his show any more ratings after that...Never supported him...
And people are free to date who they want, but I must admit after seeing he was with an Asian woman after all of that, it definitely did not make me feel any better about him and his shows...

He knew who he had to appeal to...He may have gone mainstream, but it was the community that elevated him....
Oh and to an earlier point, Dave and Neal Brennan were the creators and primary writers, however there were a collection of individuals who contributed as both writers and actors to the product, including Paul Mooney (Who also wrote for Richard Pryor in the 70's), Donnell Rawlings, Charlie Murphy, Anthony Berry, Bill Burr and others...Most sketch comedy shows have a variety of contributors...Some of the skits were incredibly funny....Although I will concede that some of them crossed a line as well...
