: MediaTakeOut.com got word yesterday that LL Cool J has officially quit as the opening act to Janet Jackson's fledgling nationwide tour.
As we reported earlier, the tour has been having difficulty selling tickets. And while there's no official word on what went down, a MediaTakeOut.com snitch tells us that the tour's producer has been losing BIG MONEY. And word is that they asked Janet and LL to reduce the amount of money that they would be paid - and LL wasn't having it.

MTO do you even know how to accurately REPORT a story? Obviously NOT because if you even had some semblance of entertainment knowledge you would have been at Janet's shows and this story proves not only were you NOT there, but you didn't even take the time to check your facts before you wrote this story. I understand that everyone not a Janet fan like myself... but man, y'all folks on here can be so cynical and negative, y'all really ain't nothing but haters but let me give u some facts I went to Janet's show in Houston on the 21st this month it was packed & nobody even noticed or cared that LL wasn't there and LL was just the opening act anyway....he ain't exactly a hot commodity these days his *** self, him & Janet bout the same age so my question is....does he think he can headline his own tour and make more?? I REALLY hope not!!!
Do these promoters realize the country is in recession? Who wants to buy tickets to a concert? These days you must pick and choose where to spend your money. Plus, Christmas is coming. I'd like to see the Color Purple coming to our area but I have another expensive thing I have to do.

Publicists need to stop lying to the public. Look at what happened with Bernie Mac's publicist saying he was improving and would soon be discharged. They end up looking like fools with no integrity. The NY Post will call out a lying publicist though.
I went to Janet's concert in DC at Verizon Center and it was packed. Everyone has been saying that LL was not missed at any of the shows she did as well. As far as having Ciara and 50 cent is the main reason why music is not where it should be today. Sure they are creative artist but in truth they don't come even close to a LL or a Janet. The young acts today lack creativity and have no competition because they all perform and create on the same level. I don't Ciara selling out venues or going on tour by herself alone! lol. I love ciara but to compare her to Janet or make Janet seem less than her. I think not! With no Janet there would be no ciara. Why do people always try to bite the hands that feed them? With all the money problems going on in the USA; I say Janet is doing very well. Every album is not gonna be the best cause no one is perfect but that woman does put %200.00 into everything she does.
Yeah He should have considered the album sales before committing. Shes washed up - I love her but its a wrap - He would have been better off opening for Beyonce (my cousin's cousin) At least you know she shows up, shows out and if Bey falls down, we all know she gets RIGHT BACK UP lol

I don't know what people are talking about. I went to Janet's concert in the ATL, and she Killed It. That girl is on point. She is a true entertainer. She has the energy and the moves. She did every song you could think of. LL was not at the show, but he wasn't the reason I bought the ticket. He's alright but he couldn't headline a show. So he really needs to take what he can get. Don't sleep on Ms. Jackson. We didn't sit down for the whole 2 hours and 30 minutes she was on stage.

The people on here having a fit and ***(caps lock on)did not even go to ANY of the concerts and their lack of knowledge of the situation is magnified by their stupidity that they foolishly write on mto for the world to see. Janet is old school talent, real talent and if they had gone to the concert this point would be mute because they would have seen a true performer who has perfected her craft but because of their lack of knowledge they want to come on mto and flex when in reality ,they have no idea of what they missed.
The information I got at my radio station said that there was some scheduling conflicts, but I actually believe MTO on this one.

At some point you have evolve the way a lot of rock stars do. Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Metallica, AC/DC, Duran Duran, Elton John, Prince and many others, can all put out albums and go platnum, then sellout every show, without having one hit single. Their fans know they're gonna get quality music, without even hearing one single.
Jay Z is getting to that point. Kingdom Come, and American Gansta both went platnum, without one hit single.
