: MediaTakeOut.com told you last week that Terrence Howard would NOT be in the new Iron Man movie. We also told you that the reason for Terrence getting cut - was that he was asking for too much gwop.
Well now Entertainment Weekly is shedding some more light onto the drama. Here's what they had to say about it:
Howard was the first actor signed to the original Iron Man and, on top of that, was the highest-paid. That's right: more than Gwyneth Paltrow. More than Jeff Bridges. More than Robert Downey Jr. And once the project fully came together, it was too late to renegotiate his deal.DANG ... hey, at least Terrence got paid for the first flick. Get that paper!!!It didn't help that, according to one source, Favreau and his producers were ultimately unhappy with Howard's performance, and spent a lot of time cutting and reshooting his scenes. (Favreau could not be reached for comment, while Howard's publicist says: ''Terrence had a tremendous experience working on Iron Man.'')
As such, when Favreau and screenwriter Justin Theroux went to map out the sequel they found themselves minimizing Howard's story line. Once Marvel learned that Favreau was thinking of curtailing the role, the studio went to the actor's agents with a new and drastically reduced offer — a number that's similar to what supporting cast members were paid for the first movie. The agents, according to sources, were so taken aback by this new figure — estimated at somewhere between a 50 and 80 percent pay cut — that they questioned it. Why did they blanch? Multiple sources say that Marvel execs never told Howard's reps that they had issues with the star's on-set conduct.
Even though the next film is based on War Machine, Downey is the box office draw. Just because War machine is hightlighted doesn't mean Iron Man isn't in it. Who cares if he's Jim Rhodes..the real hero of the movie is the suit and special effects. Terrence Howard has a high pitched voice and doesn't sound masculine enough to play Rhodey
Excuse me, sliieminne, but most of da men on here are prolly taken, so take ur lil site and use it 4 yourself.
Secondly, T Howard oughta known that racism still prevails-- dats why he shoulda drop dat white wife of his. White folks ain't gon ever accept blacks, no matter how much they say they will. Yeah, right in about 8000 ice age years!
Oddly, I kinda remember watching 106 and Park a few months back because I found out that they were going to be showing newer clips of the movie during its hype. Downey and Howard were there together promoting the film, Robert kinda mentioned money (slick talking in a joking way) on the set and how he was making 'more than him' and they laughed it off. I think that Howard will be in the next flick even though everyone was saying that he isn't but he is kinda like the perfect cat to play that role.
I don't know about how much he was being paid. However, I did work on the set. I can confirm that his staff was constantly making unreasonable demands (especially his hair stylist). We were so happy when they wrapped. It's unfortunate because I liked him before the experience of working with him. In all fairness, I'm not sure just how aware Howard was of his assistants demands. Ultimately, he has to take responsibility for it however.
Terrence Howard obviously has "personal problems" everytime he is interviewed he comes accross like a complete ***. I read in an interview that he invited 4 women to his hotel room played the guitar and let them all tell them to tell him why he should pick them instead of the other 3. Sad to say these desperate women actually did that. He is completely self-absorbed another example is he put out an album and oh, he has zero talent. Again a delusional self-absorbed actor, who does not get in Hollywood there are so little roles for Black actors in mainstream movies that you take what you can get. Denzel was modest when he first started from Hillstreet Blues, Spike Lee flicks and now he can pick and choose and it took him almost 20 years to get to that position.
I don't know ya'll...
I would have to see how he acted behind the scenes, on the set of the movie. As the years go by and he got a lil more famous, Terrence has become more and more wierd. I've heard way too many weird stories, seen too many weird interviews, and heard is very weird songs. I used to have a crush on him, but I am ashamed to admit it now. LOL
They messed up in the first place, by over paying for Terrence. Theres is no way he should have been making money than Robert, Gwyneth, and Jeff Bridges. Not on the first film at least.
His role was smaller than all three of theres, and the Iron Man character is the draw.
His role might have been bigger in the next film, but he still *** be making more than Robert Downey.
And, if he was causing problems on the set, and not doing a good work, than its no suprise.
I really did like him in that role though.

I agree. It hurts this mofo to see us get a dime, let alone some real money. He'll go all out his way to see you walk away empty handed.
This is "normal" to him. I'll never understand how it affects him in any kind of way to see a black man making a good living for himself.
I see it when conducting business all day everyday. That mofo turns red as a tomato when he starts counting your pockets, and how sees how much you're going to walk away with! SAD!!!
MTO, I call ***. I refuse to believe that the producers of a major blockbuster movie didn't go into negotiaions with a pay scale for each role. In order for this story to be valid is to believe that they offered the lead actor more money than he was willing to accept. I doubt they went in with the plan to play a supporting actor more than the lead.
